Additionally, the bartender was serving as our waiter so we waited over 40 minutes for our lunch specials. We rarely saw our server and we had to wave down the host in order to get a refill. But we are not really "Sit at a Bar Type Customers," so we simply may not return... Yelp is loaded with much better dining options in "Chillies" same Menu Price Range. FRUSTRATING MENU ISSUES.. Made a call ahead reservation for 10 people for my sons 1st birthday. When we got there we were seated right away and they had a teddy bear with a balloon waiting for him. The waitress was so on top of it and nice. I think to make 10 people happy that's gotta be really tough but she did it. Went in there today had to give the receptionist my phone number 4 times she couldn't get it down. There was 12 open tables still had to wait 15 minutes. We went to Chili's in Beaumont, CA, yesterday and had the worst service we've ever had in any restaurant. We are in our sixties, so that says a lot. The server didn't help us for over 20 minutes, and then when I asked for water, she didn't bring it. I had to ask for the water multiple times, which caused her to get angry with me. She started to serve other customers and not help us. We decided to just be patient, as times are so tough right now. Ultimately, it turned out to be the worst service we ever received. We didn't get our food for over an hour and a half, and when I finally asked if I could get an estimated time that we'd get our food, the waitress rolled her eyes and took off. She then had a kitchen helper bring us a plate with one ugly little bland steak and a beaten-up corn on the cob sitting on it. This wasn't even what we ordered. It just got worse and worse. We ultimately had to leave without eating. I can live without the food, as we finally left after talking to the Manager and went to another restaurant, but it was the unacceptable service that made for a very bad day. We are nice people, and yet the service just kept getting worse. As I look at the reviews for this place, I see we should have read them before going there. They don't seem to have a good reputation, and I am wondering where that food came from that was plopped on our places, as it was not what we ordered (scary thought). I am sharing this, to hopefully spare anyone of this feeling that lingers after a day like that. Had a very unpleasant experience here today and my husband and I ended up walking out and eating elsewhere. To start, we entered as a party of 2 and the male hostess (don't recall his name) said that it would be a 15 minute wait unless we sat in the bar area. We said sure, that is fine, but can we do one of the booth style seats there. He told us no it had to only be the bar top high chair seats. So we settled for that. Immediately after us an older couple (probably in their 50's) walked in and were immediately sat at the booth I had just asked to he sat at and was told no. Bit sure if he treated us differently because we are younger or what but it was very unfair and rude. That was the 1st issue we had. 2nd issue was that we went to order the smokehouse combo with bbq chicken and apparently that had been removed from the menu. Bummed about that, as if was my favorite. Okay, we normally don't frequent Chili's but I really wanted chicken strips today. I admit Chili's reviews were frighten but I couldn't stomach going to Applebee's for their chicken strips. I was pleasantly surprise with the atmosphere. They had great music playing, many TV's, a spacious bar and dining area. It had an overall good vibe. We sat in the bar area at the community table with full view of four TV's with baseball, basketball, racing and golf. Now, everything is going great and it even got better with our server Janessa. Yes, she was super busy but very attentive. When we were ordering, she noticed our order was similar to the special deal of 3/$10 meal and offered that to us. She kept our drinks filled without us asking and checked back with us to see if we were doing okay/enjoying our meal. My chicken strips were the best (fresh and not frozen and extra crispy) and my husband's turkey burger was good. My only complaint was the lack of attention to our dirty dishes on our table. They were eventually picked up. If I could give a 1/2 star off I would but yelp only allows for a full star rating. This is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. We've been to this location since 2010, and about a year ago it seemed to be slacking. We even decided to not come back. Well three months ago we gave Chili's another shot. My family has been super impressed. It's been so much cleaner than it used to be, food is good with great portions, better deals, and amazing staff. My friend and I grabbed a table and we were told by the asst. manager that his wait staff needed to catch up and we could only sit at the bar. Chip and salsa, salsa was great but the chips were very stale, requested a new batch which was much better I ordered the chicken crisper with fries I ended up eating the fries only due to the chicken being overly salty and overly deep fried. I'm really sad that I have to post this. My fiancé and I came in tonight (Saturday night) and we ordered some alcoholic beverages. My fiancé pulled his Military ID and the server automatically asked him if he had another. She claimed "she got in trouble the last time she accepted a military ID." And that "according to California Liquor Laws, she couldn't take it." I asked her to check with the manager, so she took his I.D. and said she was going to check. She came back and told us that she was sorry but she couldn't accept that form of ID. I asked her to grab her manager. So her manager came to the table and said "we're sorry we can't accept military, the law changed a few years back and doesn't allow us to accept that as a formal ID." She claimed it was ABC that doesn't allow it. I told her that it didn't make any sense, and that I had just taken ServSafe classes that said that Drivers License, identification cards, passports, and armed forces identification cards are ALL acceptable forms. She walked away after saying sorry again, so we left. Not only was this a slap in the face for my fiancé who has fought for this establishment's right to even be here, but down right disrespectful. So if you're active or a veteran, beware of this place if you want a half ass poured margarita. read more
