Today was a bad day. Not sure what's going on with staff at this location but it's gotten worse every time we come. The wait is long, not because there aren't any tables but because they don't have enough servers. Went to have dinner and drinks with the wife and our server took about 15 min to greet us and get our drink order going. It took another 20 min to get our drinks and appetizers. The appetizers weren't good. Seemed like the heated our soup in a microwave. They only had one bartender and let me rephrase that.... They had a young lady making drinks. The 1st drinks come out and they tasted awful. We ordered 2 blue Cuervo margaritas and after 2 sips we sent them back. The bartender agreed to exchange them for 2 El Niño margaritas instead..... well after about an hour wait, the new drinks come out and they're just as bad as the last ones. I look over at the bar and watch the woman making the drinks . She's not using a mixer, she's over pouring and just piling ingredients on top of each other and sending them out. I tried to pay on their tablet and those weren't working as well. I asked for the check and was short changed by the server.... I will not be returning to this location again. Poorly managed again and I'd rather drive a bit further to Lakewood where we've never had any issues. read more

So here's the deal... Got there just after 5:00pm. Waited inside for 10 minutes before someone finally greeted us. I suppose they finally thought it might be wise to sit potential (and I say potential for a reason) paying customers. We were then sat next to the server station, the noisiest part of the restaurant. Noisier than all hell there... Waited ~10 more minutes for someone else to show... No dice. We did see one server drop a $hitload of chips next to our table. And, apparently the entire staff felt it was more important to sing Happy Birthday to another customer rather than clean up the rank a$$ chips on the floor, much less take our order. I swear... At least 8 employees looked down at and walked by the chips on the floor without picking them up. I mean, what is this? The Roadhouse Grill where you throw peanut shells on the floor? I don't think so. Finally said to hell with it and went across the street to Sizzler, where at least you know what you're gonna get. Yay to Malibu Chicken... This Chili's is a HUGE no go... I am not a fan of Chili's...but every now and then I end up at one. I am not going to review the food you guys know what it tastes like I am just going to do a quick review of the service. We sat in the bar area and Robert was our server. We just ordered some ice teas and an a couple appetizers but he was very attentive and check back with us often and he was pretty busy too. 5 stars for service. BTW...I have noticed this in a lot of places that if you sit in the bar area of a restaurant not only do you usually get better service but faster service too. read more

I often find myself in a predicament when meeting my LA/ Southbay friends for drinks. Through the years, we established that the City of Carson is the PERFECT half way point between the Torrance/ Southbay area and Downtown LBC. Its very easy to get to and also right off both the 91 and 405 freeways. However, aside from IKEA , this city offers absolutely NOTHING to civilization or humankind. Well except for Chilis of course. REMINDER FOR YOU FANCY FOLKS: This place is a CHAIN RESTAURANT, so please don't come here expecting anything spectacular. FYI- Like most other chain restaurants, hardly anything is actually made fresh. Most sauces, soups, etc are frozen and NOT made in house. Ok so upon arriving here with no expectations/ appetite, i'd have to my overall experience was OK. Not LBC's George's Greek GOOD, but not Compton's TGIFriday's BAD either. FOOD: 3/5 They have a few appetizers and drink specials for abt 3-6 bucks each- not too shabby. We got the southwestern eggrolls and the chips and guac. Guac was bland and under seasoned- typical. The southwestern egg rolls tasted weird and stale like they came out of somebodies microwave, but ill digress. DRINKS: 3/5 I played it safe and stuck with Pino Grigio ($3.79 each) and my friend got the sunset margarita(NOT on HH menu, abt 8 bucks) As i predicted, the margarita was all sugar- no liquor. BOOOO. SERVICE- 4/5 Our food came quickly after ordering. Servers are friendly and attentive. Another plus is that they have mini kiosks on all of the tables at the bar, so we did not have to wait to order more food/ drinks or to get our bill. FINAL THOUGHTS: This is literally a no -frills type of place that serves the sole purpose of meeting a friend for a brief catch up over drinks. Don't come here HANGRY- you WILL leave sad and disappointed. And stick with wine or basic cocktails/ well drinks. Awesome Sauce. Man I love the 2 for $20 deal. I do not think i have found a better deal than this or even close. The hostess was so nice, coming here was so delightful because I did not have to wait such a long time to be seated. When the server brought us our food, i can immediately tell that the quality and taste, was going to be marvelous. Omg do not get me started on the dessert. I never get the chance to eat a dessert after a meal, but this time i did and i was so happy that i did because it was delicious. It was a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream on top. Came here for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon around 12:45pm. As we approached the hostess counter, we were informed that it would be a 15-20 minute wait for a table... as 13-15 tables sat unoccupied. The restaurant was probably busy, but how do you wait 15-20 minutes with so many tables available? No sense of urgency or apparent desire to seat the waiting patrons (4 parties sitting). One party walked out and we were about to do the same when our name was called. You would think that their staff would at least get the waiting customers seated and perhaps get a drink order in to make the wait appear shorter, especially with the abundance of tables. I'm not in the restaurant business but I believe that getting folks seated and looking at menus would be a solid business practice. read more

New Years Eve disaster! Ordered food through DoorDash around 6:15pm. Dasher called me around 7:45pm notifying me that they aren't taking any orders. Wait what? It says "preparing order" on my end & they took money out my account. Wth. Called chili's waited for 5 mins no one came to the phone. I enjoyed the Ancho Salmon which l thought was delicious Unfortunately we had to wait too long for service. We waited for half hour or more prior to being seated and about the same for service which was too long. The young man that served us was not our server and the girl who was supposed to be didn't even acknowledge us l for got his name and it was not on the receipt. Check 3020177 and table 52. He gave us free chips and salsa and that helped. We got served not long after that However we couldn't help but witness the hostess and what looked like a waitress from the Bar area get into it. I don't know the whole story but it seemed like the hostess was verbally attacked by the waitress who was the aggressor who was very loud and out of control. The hostess seemed to be trying to diffuse the situation but the waitress wasn't having it. I pray she wasn't a manager if so Chilis might want to rethink that. The reason for the three stars was because of the food and young man who wasn't supposed to be our server. They could do better with cleaning tables and floor in a timely manner and please avoid loud outbursts for whatever reason and for all the customers to hear and see. read more

Never order takeout they give you all their old food . I have gone to the restaurant and ordered the same food it was good so I ordered delivery and that was better than this takeout. The fries were soggy and brown from being leftover. The meat was old and had a funny smell . The order was wrong .the soup was cold and you could tell it was yesterday's soup. Believe me I wanted it to be great or at least tolerable but it had to go in the trash can . It was the last day of tax season and wouldn't you know I am a tax advisor. So too busy to complain. So today I go to lunch with a friend and the food was great. The first two drinks I ordered was perfect but then the waitress left. My friend insisted on me having one last drink. So when the other waitress makes me a drink I noticed a dramatic difference in the taste and color assuming she used a different liquor. She replied "these are the correct ingredients" with attitude. She then start making sarcastic comments right in front of me. Than when I asked for the bill she basically threw it at me. So I left her zero tip. And wrote on the receipt "your attitude sucks. She starts yelling at me as I was walking out the door saying how I just wanted more liquor acting like she wanted to fight. Right in front of the manager. Stopped by with a large party on Saturday night and the service could have been better. We called ahead and asked for a table for 13. We later changed it to 16. They informed us that 13 of us can sit at one table and the rest can sit at adjacent booths and once the table next to us was available, we can sit there. Totally understandable and accommodating. After providing us a table (for 12 not 13) we sat around for 20 minutes before anyone even asked if we had been helped. Also, there was only 1 adjacent booth which seated 2 people which meant a couple of us were just standing around waiting for the table next to us to clear up. That was pretty awkward. While the server was helpful he seemed totally overwhelmed. Service was really slow and we had to wait 10-15 minutes between soda refills and tortillas (for the fajitas). I understand its Saturday night and their busy, but the manager could have gotten our server some help or taken another table of off his plate so he can focus on a large party. When the food finally did come, it was all very good. I tried the steak, fajitas, and tacos...everything was on point. They get bonus points for splitting the checks and not charging an insane mandatory gratuity (like Tony Roma's). Overall, I would give this place 2.5 stars. read more

For my monthly dinner with a friend who lives in Irvine, Carson is a nice midpoint for the two of us, as I am in Santa Monica. We decided to give Chili's a go since we both hadn't been to the restaurant in forever. We arrived around 8PM, and were seated pretty immediately. Our waitress was very pleasant, but super slow and difficult to find throughout our meal. We ordered off the 2 for $20 menu (which includes one of the pre-selected appetizers and two entrees) and got: Tostada Chips & Corn Roasted Guacamole Chicken Fajitas Cajun Chicken Pasta The chips and guacamole came out relatively quickly. The chips were incredibly thin, which caused them to break really easily when trying to scoop the guacamole. The appetizer came with some salsa when mixed with the guacamole actually tasted pretty yummy. There wasn't anything special about the guacamole, it was okay. The Cajun Chicken Pasta was not as cajun-y as I thought it was going to be. I expected some spice and kick to the pasta, but instead it simply tasted like an alfredo sauce. There was a piece of garlic bread on top of the pasta that was greasy and not-so-flavorful as half of the bread was burnt. My friend seemed to enjoy her fajitas. Unfortunately, nothing about this location stood out to me. The food was average and the service was decent. I was definitely underwhelmed by my experience, and can't say that I have any desire to go back. read more

UH, No thank you. Wow this was a pretty awful experience. Where do I even start? We put in an order for traditional bone in buffalo wings, the server even clarified that we wanted bone in wings. 20 minuts later, no wings....the server stopped by and realized they hadn't arrive and promised they would be out shortly (thinking she forgot to put in the order). Shortly turned into another 15 minutes and then they brought us the wrong wings, breaded and nugget like. So they sent those back and eventually we ended up with an order of wings. They were average, and served with below average blue cheese dressing. We tried to order drinks, each asking for a shot plus an actual beverage. Nothing arrived. Finally the server came over and said she could not serve us more than one drink at a time...ok that is understandable, but why haven't we gotten one of our drinks yet? Finally the shots arrive, well poured so thank you for that....and eventually our beverages arrived. Server went home, so the new lady helping us seemed quite nice and more on top of things. We both ordered rib eyes medium rare with extra broccoli and garlic butter...food arrived and while they got the order right, the steaks were awful. One rib eye was mooing at us (perfect thanks) the other was gray and cooked all the way through (uh this is not medium rare). I hate sending food back so I tried to power through my gray steak. It was awful, super tough and my jaw ached from trying to chew it. I ended up tapping out, was offered a box to take it home and declined....I wanted to get as far away from that shoe leather as possible. We paid over $130 for food and drinks and all we got was crappy service, chewy steaks and extreme upset stomachs later that night. I got to the restaurant decided to park and eat it. The pasta was cold and chicken was almost non-existent. I didn't wanna be a "karen" so I decided to eat it. I got. Tummy ache. Should of not ate it. Second time: ordered a burger on the website for some reason it ordered me a margarita chicken when I wanted a burger. No biggy. Showed up picked it up and drove 5 mins to my house. The food was cold not to mention the rice was almost to non-existent. That's it for me. With a group of 8, we were ok with splitting the group up to take advantage of the HH specials that are only available at in the bar. A very nice server (darn! I forgot to get her name) offered to set us up at a table on the restaurant side and still give us the HH specials. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time except a special order of plain nachos with just cheese. I forgot how bad this location was. When I read my original review of this place they was like ok ok I see why I never come to this one. I made the mistake of ordering from this location and when I came to pick it up 2 waitresses passed me and didn't acknowledge my presence. They seemed to want me to feel unwelcome and it worked! So good for them, I guess. After 10 minutes standing here without any type of acknowledgement a male came and asked my name and then left and after 7-10 more minutes a girl came out with my order. It's crazy how a location can be so toxic and unfriendly. Avoid this location at all cost. * my mom had the Cajun chicken pasta, she said it tasted like they added cream of mushroom soup to the sauce ( yuck) and my ribs were dry and no I didn't order them that way, I ordered original sauce. Went in for food and drinks and they told us they won't sit 6 people at a table together even though that's not even a covid rule anymore. We even agreed to sit 4/3 at one table and 2/3 at another next to each other. Still no. They were having people wait for a table when there were 3 tables that could seat 4 and 1 table that could seat about 8 completely empty, just at the bar...even more tables available in the restaurant. I think their policies are not aligned to actual covid policies but a new ability to make up their own rules depending on how they feel at the time due to Covid. read more
