This is my second time at this chili's and I won't be coming back. This review was given a one star because I couldn't give zero stars. Although my server was okay the busboy helping him brought out our appetizer but to the wrong table and shortly after realizing he went back and pulled the appetizer from the wrong table and brought it to mine with it already touched by someone else. No apology whatsoever. This location needs better customer service and that guy was clearly not in the right position. The place is not welcoming even for happy hour all day on a Sunday. You couldn't even try to enjoy a drink at the bar because you feel like you're drinking at a daycare with all the kids crying. One of my go to spots in Carson since a client likes the place for lunch. The food is good, and lunch is a decent enough deal. Even with a pretty large group, the service at lunch is fast and efficient. Beyond that, it is a Chili's. If you have been to one, you should have an opinion if you like the food or not. It isn't my favorite chain, but it is easy to find something to eat on the menu I want to try. Plus, they make my go-to home recipe for Margaritas (OK, I stole their recipe). read more

Let me start by saying that I love Chili's, but this particular location is horrible! We signed in on the app as we always do to try to avoid waiting long. When we checked in they told us we would still have to wait 10 to 20 minutes. This would have been fine had the restaurant been super crowded ( and it was but mainly people waiting to be seated). When we were told our wait time we noticed about 15 empty, dirty tables. We ended up waiting an additional 45 min for a total of a little over an hour! BTW during our wait the empty, dirty tables remained empty and dirty. At one point an entire section of the restaurant was empty and people started to notice that plenty of tables were available and nobody was being seated. Mid way during my waiting time I took a video and pictures so my review wouldn't come of as exaggerated, mind you a lot more tables became vacant even after my pictures and videos were taken. A tall black man who I presume was the manager stood in the corner spaced off for about 15 min you can tell he did not care! A second manager ( I wishe I would've gotten his name ) walked up and asked why they had so many empty tables. He said it was unacceptable and told the host to start calling people and not stop till he instructed him to. He called employees standing around and put them to clean tables. Thank you sir! First time to this Chili's tonight and the host didn't make a good impression. I get it's late and after a full shift your exhausted but she was very cold she gave us our wait time of 45 mins. Two tables came available while we waited she did not clean them up right away she stood at the stand and waited then she went to clean the table but very slowly. There was a couple waiting in front of use which I believe to look like coworkers and she grabs her tray and looks at them and says "I'm trying" and walks to the second table to clean. Then other worker is standing at the stand with her and they are talking for awhile. So I go to ask if the table is ready to which I was told "not yet" which was odd due to it's been picked up and wiped down. Then different couple walks up and is given the table. Not one burger out of 3 came out correctly, tomatoes were under the fries, one burger wasn't even on the bottom bun, the bottom Bun was off to the side, did t get my onion rings. Another burger which was supposed to be plain with extra bacon, had only 2 bacon strips on it and shredded lettuce all in the melted cheese with mayonnaise all over the bottom and all 3 bottom buns were like sponges. All this after I was told 23 minutes until my order is ready, then had to wait another 25 minutes for them to "bag up my food". I currently at this very moment have been on the phone trying to get ahold Of a manager for 40 minutes now with no answer. Customer service and food quality are of no concern to this establishment. What? You mean i no longer have to drive to Lakewood to eat? Man this chili's has amazing service!!! Every time I come the servers are nice, friendly, patient, and attentive. Good food, good service, yummy drinks that are generous with the good stuff, and no mistakes on special instructions, just how I like my meals. Try the Taco pizza = fiesta in your mouth! Only downside is actually an upside, the wait can be long because the service and food are good and Carson is hella limited on restaurants. Favs would include the burgers, tortilla soup (but it taste like enchilada), and the create your own appetizer. They make really good drinks, and my only gripe is that they don't sell milk shakes (still 5 stars though). read more

We received phenomenal service tonight. Our server was Trey. Our drinks were brought by another gentleman (name?). Our food was brought by Elynn (sp?) and then throughout the remainder of our stay both Trey and Elynn kept checking on us. My 9yr. old was patiently waiting for butter for her corn on the cob. When Elynn realized that she was waiting so long, she brought a fresh cob and apologized for such a wait. That meant so much to us. Being transparent with delays of our foods, condiments, or drink refills wins our loyalty to come back. Just be honest. Which is all Trey and Elynn was being all night. When we were done, Elynn came and brought my daughter some cute cat-ears (head band) that we're sequenced and it also lights up!! I like the food and drinks. Been here several times mainly because of convenience. Enough parking and typical ambience for a chain restaurant but the employees seem to hate their job. After leaving church my husband and I decided to eat out at Chili's in Carson. Upon our arrival the restaurant was not crowded so I was a little surprised when my husband was told the wait was 20 minutes. The Chili's greeter took down my husbands number and said he would text when it was our turn. So we went to our car and tested a moment. Well, we waited our 20 minutes but no call. We went back into Chili's and was told we would have to wait another 20 minutes! Mind you people went in after my husband had initially put our name on the list. Well they were seated before us. That's not how business is done. Management should have a greeter in the front that knows how to handle the surge on Sunday's. I don't want to say this is the worst Chili's establishment but this might possibly be the worst chili's establishment that I've ever been to. Firstly my food wasn't horrible it was ok. And the server was noticeably over worked. On my end we had a party of ten and it's graduation season but that doesn't justify poor overall service. We called ahead to see what the wait time was and they told us 35 mins. We arrived 4 mins later to check-in and that 35 mins became 45mins to an hour wait. Granted we were celebrating and we're a happy group of individuals. So we didn't mind a 45 min wait that's expected on with a large party. But my patience was tested as people who arrived after us were seated fed and left before we got a table. Seriously we waited 2 hours to be seated and that is unacceptable on all accounts. Upon being seated of course we had to wait several minutes before a waiter introduced themselves, then everyone asked for water along with their drinks yet only half the water arrived at the table. My food came 10mins before my sons food and no parent would eat food while their child is hungry especially after waiting 2+ hours. I had the presedente margarita and it tasted like salt and water. I sent it back and it taste like the waiter just added water. (Still better than tasting straight salt) I'm not a prude about dining and don't have too high expectations but I don't expect my already low expectations to be lowered. We had to wait an hour for the check and to pay because the waiter insisted he'd come get it and by that time I asked for my dessert to go yet I was stuck still standing there waiting for desert after the rest of my party was outside in their cars. You get two stars because maybe it was a bad night and the waiter was clearly being over worked also the food wasn't horrible even tho it didn't all come at once. Went in for lunch recently. Did not want anything to heavy (tough prospect at a Chili's) and decided on a salad. I have had the Buiffalo Chicken Ranch before, and it was really good (but again, heavy). Thought I would try the Caribbean. Mistake. Maybe I caught someone on a bad day? I thought it kind of sucked. Bland, forgettable, and ultimately unsatisfying. Lettuce did not seem fresh. How can it be listed as a favorite on the menu? If this is what it is served like regularly, I just don't get it. Chicken was totally dried out. The portion size was overall very disappointing for 10 bucks. There was NO love involved in the creation of this bogus representation of a healthy alternative. I know that the burgers, especially the JALAPEÑO SMOKEHOUSE BACON BURGER is the bomb (Had it elsewhere) so I am not out to knock anyone intentionally. It's just if this is there idea of a fresh salad, I really need to lower my expectations, or simply avoid them at Chili's altogether. Maybe it was my bad, looking for something healthy. I've always loved this chili I've even left a review about how great it was but yesterday was one of the worst orders that I've ever had it was a curbside pick up sat in my car for 15-20 minutes, then realize nobody was coming out went inside multiple people were in the kitchen seeing that they were people waiting for the orders and nobody paid attention,luckily one very sweet girl came up to us and asked for our names & what the orders were .I double checked and there were things missing (I paid extra for a Caesar salad) but the line was so long I decided to leave. Placed an online order at 550pm and it indicated pickup time is 629pm. I arrive and 650pm and the curbside runner said it's running behind 20-30 mins. It is not 720pm and they said our order was being prepared at 700pm. They need to hire some addl. oils to handle the volume. There are more than 40 cars in the parking lot waiting for their food curbside. I AJ e essentially been waiting over 1:30mina for food that even inside the restaurant would have been to me in 20 mins or so. The planning for a Friday pickup and curbside is grossly underestimated. I came in on my lunch hour and ordered the lunch salad and soup with chips. The chips arrived about 8 minutes later and the soup and salad about 10 minutes after that. The chili was way to hot to eat and I couldn't eat my salad because I had no utensils so I had to wait another 6 or 7 minutes for a fork. By the time I was able to try and enjoy my food my lunch hour was over. I asked for a box to go which I got but never got a to go cup for the chili or bag for the chips. They were so busy. Yet, from the moment we got on the wait to the moment we left, everyone made it a point to take care of us. Clarissa was not only efficient, but she was also super friendly and made sure we got everything we needed, continously checking on us without overwhelming us. Brandon, the manager stopped by to make sure we were doing great and kindly brought us what we asked for. I wish I had gotten all the names of the people who helped us out but I don't want to be weird about it haha. The was cooked to perfection (MR Steak and MW steak) vegetables were delicious and the cheesecake was to die for. Too bad I was so full by then and just had a bite. This chili's is very special to us because my mom used to love coming here when she was alive. We came back after a couple of years and I can tell you we were far from disappointed. Thank you guys. WORSE CHILI's. It's near my home so its convenient for me to go. (I HONESTLY DON'T KNOWY WHY I KEEP GOING BACK) I hate dinning in because of the horrible service. Phones never get pick up for curb side or to order for pick up. Online doesn't have all of menu listed. I have to walk in to place an order and make sure they get my order correctly and even then, they still don't. They sat us in a dirty booth next to the back where you can hear the workers yelling at each other and cussing, cups were sticky and disgusting, no one offered us any condiments, I had to get up and get my own salt and a1. The plate my food came on was dirty. They gave us bar napkins to use instead of actual napkins. While we waited 30 minutes for our food, we looked around and noticed it was SO DIRTY EVERWHERE all empty tables were filthy the entire time we were there, no one swept. On top of everything, the food wasn't hot and tasted like rubber. We only ate 1/4th of our meal and left. Service sucked too we had to ask for our check 4 separate times. I met my husband for lunch today here and it was a pleasant surprise. I got there first so I was able to secure us a spot in the bar which is rare during the busy lunch time. Shortly after sitting down I was greeted by our waitress Unique and I let her know I was waiting on someone so she took my drink order and checked back regular. When my husband arrived we ordered our food and his drink. Our soups came out within about 5 minutes which was pretty good, 10 mins later the rest of the food came out. I had the Cajun chicken pasta it was alright it was my first time trying it but I'll say it look better than it taste. It had a very rich cheese sauce maybe if they added more fresh tomatoes and maybe some mushrooms to it, it would cut some of the richness. But it still wasn't bad for $31.00 bucks I'll take it! Got a good portion meal a tasty drink and some qt with my honey. Every time I come to this particular location, I always tend to have a bad experience of some sort. I've stayed away for quite some time. I thought to myself: "Surely, things have changed...things still can't be bad." Boy, was I wrong. My wife and I got there before the dinner rush. There were lots of empty tables. In fact, only two other families were at the dining area. Now, the bar was full of guests. The check-in desk was empty. That probably had to do with the male employee talking on his personal cellphone as guests began coming in. He eventually made his way to the check-in desk as he began taking down names and numbers. I was told that the wait would've been 15-20 max. Again, the dining area was practically empty. More guests began trickling in. I noticed that they were being told that their wait time would be 30 minutes, an hour, an hour and a half, and so forth. A guest walked up to the front and asked an employee why it was taking so long and why wasn't he being helped. I chuckled as I heard her dancing her way around an explanation. She asked that he sit at the bar to get better service. After 35 minutes, I told my wife that we should just leave. I saw the writing all over the wall. Employees were flirting and kissing guests at the bar, others were texting on their phones while standing around, and no one was being seated. I overheard another employee tell a guest that the incoming 5 o' clock shift was the reason why they weren't being tended to. My wife and I went to another eatery at the same plaza and got immediate service. An hour and 30 minutes after my original check-in, I received a text from Chili's that my table was finally ready. Yeah, no thanks. I'll for sure avoid this place at all costs from now on. Lesson learned. read more
