Nice location, near Ross & Hobby Lobby right off the 67. Food, though, is greasy, overly salty, and strangely bitter. Many items taste artificial and unnatural, as though they are pre-made at some off-site factory,and shipped in, only to be warmed up as being "cooked" here. Seems like prices just went up too, making this place almost as expensive as Romano's next door. Service just okay -- kind of like a slightly upscale fast-food place. The air conditioning was broken in the bar area, so the restaurant side was packed. Longer wait time to get seated. Once we were seated, we sat a very long time before we met our waiter. I used the table top electronic tablet to order our appetizers since the waiter was nowhere to be found. I hesitate to review this now with all the recent publicity, but thought I should do it before I forget the details. We recently went to this Chili's where I got the Oldtimer, my favorite burger from other Chili's restaurants. I told the waitress to hold the onions and asked if there was any chili powder or black pepper on the burger because it bothers me. She said no chili pepper and I repeated not to put any black pepper on it either. When I got the burger, it had black peppercorns in it. I have never heard of any restaurant putting peppercorns in food and feel that this was done intentionally because I repeated myself about having no pepper in it. When I told my husband that the burger had peppercorns in it, he said no, it must be something else that just looked like peppercorns. So he ate one and said yes, it was peppercorns. read more

(2016 Yelp 100 Challenge #1) I don't review certain places because they are pretty much well known but I felt compelled to write one for this Chili's based on a New Year's Day visit for dinner with fam. As far as Chili's goes, this one was one of the best I have been to lately. Of course, every restaurant is pretty much packed on this day. We came in after finding a parking spot pretty quickly. We had to expectantly wait for a table to open up which was fine. All in all, I want to say the service was great! I mean people weren't in overdrive or overkill on the niceties but they certainly got the job done. I liked that they were sweeping around a lot. They did so under our table minutes before we actually were seated. I say this because a restaurant with poor management can let those details slip amidst the crowd. Here they did not! The hostess handled the numbers coming through the door and our waitress was very efficient and thorough as well amongst what was surely a full section all night for her. To take the kicker, all of our food came out hot and fresh which again can often not be the case in such a crowded, heavy hitting day and time. Usually, you almost secretly wait for the fumble. We put our kid orders in first along with an appetizer because the kiddos were turning into Hulks if you know what I mean. I snagged a few french fries because Chili's fries (especially fresh which these were and oh so perfectly seasoned) are one of my favorites and hey that's what Aunt's do, right? Our appetizer was the Triple Dipper and we chose sliders (delish!), fried pickles (delicioso) and southwestern egg rolls. Again the appetizer came out hot and fresh. A major plus - because cold food is no bueno particularly fried food. After my inner struggle with indecisiveness, I put my money on the Pick Three plate and chose the sour cream chicken enchilada, chicken quesadillas and salad. Hot food was hot and the salad was so nice and big with mixed greens and spinach (cause who loves iceberg!). Beans and rice were on point as usual. Club soda to drink. All in all the food was wonderful! The service was very reactive and gracefully handled our party of 5 in a crowded and busy night. I also loved the screens they have on each table. You can view the menu, pay for games and settle up your bill. I must admit I had a time playing SpaceApes, I believe it was called, with the nephew. I also love what they've done with the menu. I am sure these changes have been there for a while but I am not a frequenter of Chili's like I was when I was younger but it makes me want to put it back in the rotay! Kudos to this Chili's and their management team and team members! Keep up the good work! I would recommend this location and would likely return. read more

I thought since we were in Cedar Hill this Chili's would be a lil better than others, but I was wrong. First we had to wait a while to be seated,and we were not the only people waiting there were several parties waiting granted it was a Saturday but it was ridiculous.Then when we got to our table we saw that there were several empty tables, so I dont inderstand why we and the other parties had to wait so long for a table.Then our server took forever bringing our drinks, after we ordered the appitizer that took forever to get there too. We should have not ordered it and just waited for our food. I hate to be one to complain but I was not happy with the service. Long wait. not great service i will not be eating here again. read more

If i could give negative stars i would. I ordered a table side guacamole. First off, it took way too long. It wasn't busy. Secondly, the bartender did not make it at my table spot, but in front of his friend's spot at the bar on the other side from me. The whole idea of the tabletop guacamole is so i can tell him what i want in. He put salt in one and i told him i didnt want salt so he gave it to his friend. He never asked me,what i wanted in mine which was no salt no onions. Then the manager comes over and apologizes. He offered to make it again but i could not wait any longer. BAD SERVICE! So far I've been just sitting here for 10mins waiting on a server get to help us. I have 12 people with me. Looks a like a gray head manager just looking at us. He went looking for a server and looked like no one wanted to help us. Very slow Sunday night. We had this young black lady helping us with an ugly face. I can just feel the negative attitude. Omg we order mango tea and brought us unsweet tea & no straws. Now they ran out of chips at 9:30pm when they close at 11pm. Her face expression just making mad but I'm keeping my coolness. Our service was terrible. We waited a little over an hour for our food; there's nothing like seeing people being seated, eating, and then leaving before you even get your food. Half of us were served first with food that was lukewarm and dry. The rest of us was served 20 minutes later. The manager made an appearance to us but did absolutely nothing and wasn't very apologetic at all. I will give a shout out to the waitress who was upstanding. That's where the one star comes from. Let me start by saying, I LOVE CHILI'S, just not this one. Food is pretty much what you'd expect if you go to Chili's but the service is where this one differs. Our server was gone like the wind after he grabbed the drinks and the only time we did see him, was when he brought the check. I grew up with the ORIGINAL Chili's in Dallas 40 years ago & this is NOT the Chili's I loved back then. HOWEVER Chili's today is not the same Chili's that struggled to find itself a few years ago. Menu is fresh, rich, and filled with delicious options for any diner. Our experience at THIS location was NOTHING like the whining & complaints listed below. Our server was great!! I've always loved Chili's food. I've had an opportunity to eat and work here and both experiences were great .

Extremely poor customer service. We waited at our table for over 40 minutes without anyone coming over to greet or serve us. The 2 waiters that were in our section walked by and served everyone around us. We then saw the same 2 servers arguing at the back of the restaurant regarding who wanted to take our table. They both walked away and never came over. We finally had enough and got up to leave. The manager then came to the door and asked what was wrong. We informed that we were refused service. There's nothing wrong with the food or service here. It's more so the clientele. So many of the patrons are rude and inconsiderate, especially the large parties. I came in to eat recently and the noise level was absolutely insane. There were tons of kids/babies crying and parents wouldn't do anything about it. And on top of that there's always groups of young high school kids who are loud and obviously don't know how to keep their voices down. One other thing that bugs me is they still allow smoking at this location. I thought smoking was banned in all of Dallas county, but unfortunately not. I guess maybe because Cedar Hill borders Ellis County? Who knows? Anyway, I did have one good experience a while back here. The server I had named Chris was awesome and took really good care of my table. He was attentive but didn't hoover over my entire meal. Each time I ordered a cocktail, he brought it over in a timely manner as well. I haven't seen him the last few times I've been here, but I recommend asking for him. read more

Don't Get the 3 For Me! I was shown the picture on the table of the 3 for me by the waitress of a medium size skillet of chicken fajitas, house salad and molten chocolate cake for $10. But what I got was a mini skillet good for 2 small fajitas, the onion and bell peppers tasted watery & old, not freshly grilled. Same thing for the chicken. Taco Cabana chicken tasted better to me! Way more onions than meat. The salad was mini and was ok, lots of onions again. The cake made up for it and was medium sized with tiny scoop of ice cream in the center. The cake was so hot, I had to let it cool a bit. Since the trend of the next generation is leaving the restaurant setting because of the prices, these places need to have fresher foods and better portions than fast food! read more

If I could give zero stars I would!!!! I tried to call in a to go order because I have food allergies and the app will not let me make changes or give notes to alert to food allergies. So first when I said I needed to place an order she said she was too busy to use the app, then I tried to explain I have food allergies and the app couldn't take it and she still said she wouldn't take my order. I asked to talk to a manager and got hung up on. Luckily she called back. Then the manager talked to me and said the same thing. They were too busy to take my order. It's not discriminating towards me but they were too busy and that she was cooking on the grill. I tried to say are you telling me you are refusing to help me, and she said again she was too busy. So I said you lost a customer. I've been going there since they built it. I have NEVER BEEN TREATED SO BAD BECAUSE I HAD SEVERE FOOD ALLERGIES BEFORE! Plus have them refuse to serve me. If they had just taken my order it would have been 1-2 minutes. I knew exactly what the 3 of us wanted and was subbing out one thing. This was at 7:30 pm on Sunday Mar 28. I SURE WAS DISCRIMINATED AGAINST. plus every time we go eat inside even before the pandemic they never got our order right and not due to me, took forever, and rude. We've lived in Cedar Hill 27 years and have seen ups and downs in every restaurant and chain. This includes Chili's . We've seen Jose grow this store from horrible to ok and now GREAT. We're proud to have LeLicia (the best we've ever seen) and Joshua Conway who has grown in this company over the years. This is the worst chili's I have ever been to. Went there twice and shouldn't have. I'm sure the manager has the sauces for the chicken strips diluted because it was so runny and watered down. Went to this Chili's not long ago and had a wonderful experience. I forget the waitress's name, but she was phenomenal. She was very helpful to my wife and I with menu selections and recommendations. Very friendly. We returned several weeks later to eat there again and got the same waitress. She remembered us and even what we ate. She again did a great job. I feel sorry for this place. This is the first CHILIS i ever been in and been treated bad. The hostess giving us an attitude and then stepping on my shoes, then hitting me with the menus,then same with my brother hitting him and throwing the menu to my sister in law. I really feel they should re-train roxy in her position. I do appreciate Leanne for apologizing even though it wasnt her fault and it was good customer service that she tried to get us back to the restaurant but it was a decision of 12 people to move to another restaurant.
