Great food and the service is top notch. My server checked on me many times during my meal and my glass was never empty. As luck would have it I left my blazer in the booth and didn't realize it until 7:30am the next morning. I had to catch a flight at 11 and they do not open until 11. I called and Spencer answered (which blew me away) and was cheerful and ready to help. I showed up 15 minutes later and he met me with my blazer at the take out window. This is my first time here, so I wondered about some of the negative reviews. Since I was just getting a beer and chips/salsa I decided I can't go wrong with a solid chain like Chili's. I mean I have been having Chips and Salsa at the Chili's chain for 30 years. So I opted for the bar thinking g I would get the better service for my easy. I was the only person at the bar when I came in and got seated and the bartender clearly saw me and said hello. Right after that a couple came in and he helped them first, kinda a customer fail, but since they were closer to him and he followed right up with me, I decided to let it slide. First basket of chips was about one third small broken pieces, after that the next one was about the same. Typically that is the way of the chips here and I think there is not much that can be done. We went for a hike this morning and then strolled into Chilis for lunch to calm our voracious appetites. They didn't disappoint as every dish we had on the table was family size and could easily feed three instead of one! My fire grilled corn guac was delish, and the side of seasoned vegetables was also pretty good. I also asked for the chocolate chip paradise pie for dessert and it was paradise like its description. My friends were both completely stuffed from their meals but couldn't resist sampling my pie and they both loved it too. I am pretty health conscious and can't see myself eating at Chilis regularly but every now and then it's great to satisfy that guilty pleasure. He gave us no silverware and when we asked he brought one fork for the one person that has an entree that would be best eaten with a fork. Refills were nonexistent and he would stare at our table from afar as if he was trying to remember what we needed or asked for. He even asked us a couple of times if we ordered a certain item. She thought the first bite was a little funny but not terrible so she took her second bite she had to spit it out. See photo. I was excited to see Chili's scale back their menu because it had gotten totally out of control. That said, I think they scaled it back too far, or they've left some higher priced items at the cost of some lower priced items. I can decide which. I was really hoping to have fajitas, but I felt like the price was a little too high for a chain restaurant and fajitas in particular. I had also considered some baby back ribs, but again the price seemed a little too high. I would like to see Chili's offer a smaller sized portion with a lower price. Honestly, the fajitas portion looked huge, so the higher price made sense. Also, the baby back portion seemed rather much. I was here on business and was dining alone and staying in a hotel, so leftovers weren't a possibility. This isn't just a Chili's issue; it's a restaurant-wide issue. Chili's, though, just scaled back that menu, and the lack of smaller portions was pretty obvious. My three stars are about the menu only. My server was fantastic. She was spot on, checked back on me often, and took very good care of me. I had the chicken tacos, and they were a perfect portion, along with a perfect price. I also had a classic margarita. You can't beat Chili's cost for a classic margarita, and it was quite yummy,.One of my favorite things about dining at Chili's is that I can pay at the table, print my receipt, and just be on my way. Our service was mediocre in comparison to how busy the restaurant was. Our chips and salsa arrived with the majority of the chips being broken into small pieces. We requested more chips, which did not arrive prior to our meals. We asked again about chips which were never delivered. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken was way over cooked, very tough and cold. I compared it to eating a piece of leather. Three of us had fries which it was evident these had been sitting out for a while. The fries were cold and tough as well. I could not finish the meal. One interesting note is within a few hours my wife and I both had raging upset stomachs. This was the only meal of the day in which we consumed the same foods. Approach with caution! We should had chosen the Outback Steakhouse next door. I know it's a chain restaurant but sometimes I just want some Southwestern Egg Rolls. This was one of those days. We normally go to the location on Harbison Blvd but the Two Notch location is closer to our home. The staff was incredibly nice and very responsive to anything we asked for but the food left something to be desired. We ordered the egg rolls (with extra avocado ranch because that junk is DE-LISH) and they arrived at the table in under 5 minutes but they were not hot. Warm at best. This has not been my experience at the Harbison location. They are always ridiculously hot and we have to wait to eat them. They were not anywhere near hot here but they were still tasty. Boyfriend and I gobbled them up. We both ordered the Cajun Pasta for dinner. He got shrimp and I ordered chicken. Again... the food came out quickly but not hot. The pasta was barely warm and the sauce wasn't creamy. I honestly felt like it had been microwaved. Also, the seasoning wasn't cooked in with the food it was just sprinkled on top. Every bite was super spicy. Even boyfriend thought it was spicy and he has a high tolerance for spice. It's a shame that the kitchen staff can't get it together. I have been coming to this location for years and over the course of a year I have noticed a huge change in their cooks. It's been a hit or miss over the year but this last visit really ticked me off. Everything I ordered but the burger and chips and salsa was burnt. Had to throw away 4 meals sides due to it being burnt and had to throw away my whole ENTREE due to it being burnt. Even paid EXTRA for bacon and cheese of my fries and couldn't eat it because it was BURNT! Who in their right mind thinks its okay to cook something that's burnt and think it's okay to HAND IT TO A CUSTOMER? Normal cooks would of just tossed it out and cooked it over, NOPE not this Chilis... they will serve it to you and that's it. What a waste of money! Went to write a google review and saw others have had the same issue with this location but why hasn't anything been done about it. Why aren't the managers fixing this issue? We will not be returning. What a shame since this was my favorite restaurant. No, I did not reach out to the location to correct this as my husband just checked to make sure everything was in the bag when he picked it up, he however did not check the quality of the food itself because who would seriously hand you burnt food and let you walk out the door with it? He drove home 30 mins for us to open the food to see it like this. This was a tough review. I've been eating here one a week for about a month. The first two times were great. Last two not so much. Service was quite slow. This time it took 10 minutes for me to get my drink and 40 minutes to get my salad. I watched people who sat after me eat fajitas etc and all I wanted was my salad :(. They had a little game people could play on the table for 99 cents, which was extremely entertaining and took away from the overly long wait. And the wait was LONG. Very long. After reading the reviews, we were worried at first, however with our sons soy allergy we knew he could eat there traveling home from FL. We took a gamble and it paid off. We walked in and the hostess stand was empty, we stood for a couple seconds and the bar tender called to us to say someone would help us in a minute just as the host came around the corner. He found us a booth in Ashley's section. She was very attentive and helpful, my husband asked about an entree and she was knowledge able and also recommended another that was comparable. My sons order is not difficult but we always seems to get extras we said they could leave off, like the bun and toppings. He won't/can't eat some of them so it's just a waste of food. It was perfect! Just like we ordered. I have to mention it, but this is no fault to Chili's they were doing some type of paving project and made it very difficult to find a way into the parking lot.
