Me and the wife love Chillie's grill it's been our go to for 10 plus years. Food is amazing chips and Salsas is why we visit so much. But until recently I would always get frozen Margaritas 2 for 1 deal, why mess up a great margarita but they did now it sucks forgive my language, I don't even want to go there anymore. read more

Came in for lunch last week , hardly anyone in there took forever to get our drinks and our app of fried greasy pickles came before our beverage. Again still waiting for our food people who came in after us we're eating. Food arrives cold and sad my chicken was cut in half and was bland and cold so sad mango chicken, my friends brisket burger was also cold with hardly any brisket on it and what was there was mostly fat. After 45 min we left hungry. Sad to say chili's is now off the list of places to eat. Worse experience ever! This is the second time I have come to this location and I definitely will not be back I would rather drive an hour or more to a different location! First time we went it took 20 min for us to even get our drink order which by that time we were ready to order ordered our drinks chips and salsa and told the waitress our food order another 15 min go by before we even get our drinks and the chips and salsa. They were not busy our waitress had two tables and stayed at one talking and talking finally when our drinks come out with the chips and salsa our food was right behind. I was very disappointed but I came back because hey maybe it was a bad day who knows I always give second chances. Second and last time I will be at this location we sat down our server was the bartender we were ready to order I ordered the California grilled chicken flat bread with no bacon waited a good 30 minutes for our food to come out when I came out I was shocked and looked at the lady who gave it to me I said this has to be a mistake I wouldn't even let this leave the kitchen it looked bad. She shrugged her shoulders and left not even trying to fix it. I waited for our server to come by to see if he would fix it. He came pass my table 3 times to the table next to me I waved he never stopped so I got up to the host and asked her to get her manager in which she went to get him waited forever before he came out I had to ask my server when he finally noticed I wanted to talk to the manager he asked for the manager again the manager finally comes out and asked how he could help I told him the issues he said they are remaking it and it'll be out shortly said a mistake was made and he couldn't do anything else about it! I said the chicken looked like chewed up chicken spit on the flat bread it was just gross looking so he goes in the kitchen and gets my food it literally looked the same and I just looked at him and said what is this you have the sauce on it for the margarita flat bread there is this chewed up looking chicken and hardly anything on it.... he said thats shredded chicken I asked why it's supposed to come with grilled chicken he started to argue with me and said no that's the recipe it has shredded chicken I said it's called a California grilled chicken flat bread even on the website I showed him it had grilled chicken. He still said no I sent it back and just didn't eat I was mistreated and that man should not be a manager I can see why the establishment there is poorly ran. I have never had an issue at any of the other locations from Knoxville, Nashville, Chattanooga, and even out of state never any issues I have been chili's quite a bit of times for family time get togethers to just hanging out with friends drinking it is actually one of my favorite place to go to for a chilled relaxing time nothing fancy type of restaurants this location in Cookeville is the worst and they need new management to whip most of them into shape! My fiancé and I go there on a regular basis and we never have any issues. The food is always good and all employees are welcoming and friendly. The only complaint I have is they are short staffed. I have had to wait longer than necessary for food and other requests due to our waiter having to wait on so many tables. read more

Seated with no menu. Walked to the front asked for a menu and could clearly see a large stack of them on the wall and was told they only have 5 for the whole restaurant. I pointed to the stack and they only gave me one, for a table of 5. After that, the chips came out soggy with oil, sent them back and they brought back another round just as soggy as the first. Waiter acted annoyed we even would ask for a replacement. Swapped the chip order out for egg rolls waiter acted annoyed again, they came to the table cold. Food quality seemed intentionally poor. Absolutely disgusting will NEVER eat here again complete waste of money and a date night. We ordered the bacon burgers they were burnt but not with just our food that was supposed to be on the burger they obviously had not cleaned the grill or flat top in some time as we picked off several big chunks of burnt pieces of food off the bottom of our burgers, the blue pineapple margarita was very overpowering on sweet and poorly made as it was served in a sticky glass, was also very alarmed at the poor sanitation as they keep there cleaning rag next to the takeout containers the straws and the extra utensils, they didn't wear gloves while cleaning the table and immediately a waiter handed a couple a straw meant for a toddler, extremely disgusting all away around. read more

Went for lunch with my wife. Service was good. Appetizers were really good. I got chicken fajitas and they were the worst I had ever had anywhere. The chicken was dry and flavorless. No seasoning at all. It was obviously just nuked and set on the hot cast iron skillet. Rice and cheese was crunchy like they had been sitting out all day. My wife got fresh mex bowl. It had chunks of the same chicken. Rice was really crunchy. I can eat almost anything and am not picky at all. I could not eat it. We paid around sixty dollars after tipping the server( it wasn't his fault they can't cook and are just microwaving entrees). This food is what keeps fast food restaurants in business. read more

Wish I had seen the two star rating before we went because they really lived up to the rating. Slow service, waited forever on food, salad under heat lamp, etc. etc. but the one I can't get past is filth. The whole restaurant is filthy from the front door to the back. My family met for a Friday night dinner that is a halfway point between our homes. This Chili's Grill has always been a great place for us, even though national chain restaurants are not my favorite. We usually meet during the busy dinner hour and they always seat our group quickly and provide friendly, helpful service. Our waiter was awesome and deserved 5 stars for his service. He only wanted to help and was very attentive without hovering. That is really hard to do when the restaurant is rocking. We all had something completely different to eat, but our food was delivered hot, fresh and quickly. They were very accommodating to our special requests and everything was served correctly. I had a new item, the Santa Fe salad which was very good. It is a southwestern inspired salad with chicken and a little bit of spice. The salad paired well with their citrus balsamic vinaigrette, even though it is usually served with another dressing. The are located close to the interstate, halfway between Knoxville and Nashville. If you need a quick, convenient lunch or dinner, then I would recommend Chili's Grill and Bar in Cookeville. read more

Do I even have to give this place a star? Since it wouldnt let me give it 0 stars I'll give it 1 star because the chips and salsa were good...Other than that the service was horrendous! We went into chili's and were seated instantly because there were maybe 10 people in the entire chili's. It was 3 o clock on a Monday afternoon and looked like a ghost town in there. Gee I wonder why... After we were seated we didn't get our drink order for 12 minutes and 23 seconds. Yes, that's right I set a got damn timer this time so I knew I wasn't crazy. There were literally 5 tables with a few couples, no reason to wait this long to even get a water. The only reason I went here is because some friends wanted to eat at Chili's even after I told them how bad the service was (hence why I set my timer to show them). Anyways we finally order our drinks and our chips n guac / salsa. After another 9 minutes and 31 seconds they delivered our 3 waters and our chips / guac. So by this time we were here past 30 minutes and only just got our drinks and appetizer. Plenty of waitresses standing around gossiping about the place and cracking jokes to their friends because there was nothing else for them to do.. So my question is why does it take 30 minutes to bring out my order of water and chips n guac for a table of 3 people? read more

We were in line and on the waiting list. I spoke with the hostess several times. When our table became available the hostess took a different family in allowed them to lie and say they were me and seated them. Again we spoke with her she took down my name. After waiting for over 30 minutes we were told that we would have to continue to wait. We left and now I think it will be a very long time before we come back. 4 of us went to eat lunch--when we were being seated we asked for a table where it would be warm, we were sure glad we did because as it turned out we absolutely froze!!!! They keep cold air blowing and our waitress explained it was because they get so hot back in the kitchen!!! We waited forever for our food and about the time we started to leave our food arrived. We waited even longer for our bill until we hunted the waitress down and had to stand at her station for her to tally the bills so we could pay her. We were so cold and it seemed every person inside the dining area was eating with their coats on! The table across from us finished eating before us and when we left they were still sitting at their table with their money in hand waiting for their tab!! This is such a shame because we used to enjoy this Chili's but something has changed and not for the better and certainly not for the customers benefit!! Poor service! Even poorer dining conditions! Service was good, I haven't been here in a couple years, my husband loved it back then. I had the same thing we had back then an app. That was fried southwest egg rolls. There was not one piece of chicken in my egg rolls and a couple of black beans it was mostly filled with spinach, and the price was outrageous. The chips and salsa and guacamole were wonderful. Thus used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but my trip yesterday was pretty bad. My party was sitting for almost 10 minutes before our drinks were even requested, the sprite was flat, and the waitress was slow, even sarcastic. Our drinks were only refilled once, and we waited over 20 minutes after our food was delivered before our checks were delivered; even after that it was 10 minutes until I received my change.
