The chips are so light and crispy and you get to chose your dips. I could have eaten all of it! Typical Chilis restaurant. Bright, lively atmosphere. Friendly staff, televisions on the walls and a good time waiting to be had. Multiple menus promoting various drinks and appetizers. Beyond that there is a decent menu of salads, burgers, various meats, pastas and fajitas. I went the fajita route. They were ok and yes, I know, get fajitas at a Mexican restaurant and not Chilis. I did the steak and shrimp combo and found the shrimp to be more favorable. Wasn't a fan of the rice. Someday I'll be back at a Chilis and will return to the smokehouse combo which is my norm. read more

I used to not prefer causal chain restaurants, but a couple of years ago I tried a local Chili's and really liked it and found they were making positive changes, so I've visited more and they were all great. This one reminded me of why I stopped coming. The service was friendly, but the food quality resembled something that was rushed to be made, though the entrées took too long to come out. The chicken crispers I got were far from crispy or resembling being hand battered, they seemed like they were frozen and heated up to serve. The sauces were nice that came with them, but they were far from being very good or what I hoped for when I ordered them. Would I return? Bowl of Red (chili) $1.50, Old Timer (hamburger) $1.50. Coke $.75. Of course those days are gone but the line to get in frequently wrapped around the deck outside of their restaurant. I could get chips & a drink while waiting in line. I haven't been to Chili's here in Richmond VA for a couple years. Imagine my shock to find the chili completely gone from the menu and my beloved soft chicken tenders had become "crispy". This chilis is ALWAYS packed and pretty slow, but it is the only one in the area so they WILL continue to see me. The food, after the usual 30 minute wait, is ALWAYS delicious and hot. The servers are definitely busy, but they still get the job done and do so with grace. It's a stressful environment, but they make it work. And for that I am thankful. I try to make different combinations, so I don't get bored. On this visit, I ordered my free chips and salsa. It is always free and you claim the coupon when you pay through the table machine. I ordered my unsweetened tea with Splenda, a garden salad with balsamic creamy dressing, the chicken sandwich by less with lettuce on the side and black beans and honey mustard on the side. My husband just ordered it as is. The salsa needs work. It's not my favorite. The balsamic dressing is bomb. The chicken is crispy and tender. Overall, it was really good. I'll post my other combinations soon. Definitely keep coming back. One thing: don't try to reserve a table through YELP, the restaurant will cancel it. They only let you check in person. If the wait is ever 30 minutes, I just cross over to Ross to kill time, but they do have a patio area outside if you hate crowds. read more

There was a little wait as it was a snow day here in RVA. We waited about 15 min which 29 was quoted and then sat. Cute corner by the window. We were immediately greeted by kelly who was the sweetest server I've had in a while. Her customer service is top tier. On a busy day she had a busy section and was all over the place but made you feel like you were her only table while being so attentive to every one. I will definitely be requesting her. Our food and drinks came out hot and fresh and not watered down. She even made sure to bring our disposable utensils. The establishment including the bathroom was well organized and clean. Went for lunch on a Thursday. It was really busy. There was no greeter at the door when we walked in, so we (along with 3 other parties) had to wait about 7 minutes. We finally were seated, and our waitress came right over. Food was ok. My burger was dry, but nachos were good. Waitress wasn't attentive, maybe because it was busy. If I could put zero stars I would. I go to pay check even though I really should ask for them to comp my meal because there was black curly hair stuck to my chicken. I'm doing the survey that comes after payment and I'm in the middle of putting that in the typing section of the survey and my "server" comes and pats me on the back and snatches the device from me and says she will get fired if I put what I'm putting. Mind you this wasn't the first instance of bad service she was forgetting items and messing up orders. Everyone makes mistakes but her biggest mistake was expecting a tip after being so incompetent. I feel like she knew she didn't deserve it because she felt the need to stand over all the next people to pay to make sure they tipped. She was getting zero extra dollars out of me regardless because mind you the hair on the food wasn't even her fault so I don't know why she would think she would get fired unless she scratched her imaginary balls and put that pube looking thing in my food which I wouldn't put past her now that I think about it because she clearly doesn't thing very many things through. I will start with I have not been to a Chili's in forever but mainly wanted to try the aesthetically pleasing margaritas that were being advertised! The drinks were both delicious with the green one being a bit stronger. We split the appetizers always been a huge fan of the eggrolls , and the honey chipotle crispers were great as well even when warmed up the next day. Restaurant was surprisingly packed and so we didn't have to wait for a table we sat at the bar Food took longer than expected but it did come out hot so I won't complain! The fall and rise of Chili's will be written in history books. We got their triple dipper with sliders, Nashville hot mozz sticks and honey chipotle chicken crispers, their BBQ platter with ribs and cheddar sausages corn elote and their 3 meal deal with Chicken, bacon ranch quesadillas. Everything was amazing. Each and every item was everything you want and expected from our nostalgia "fine dining" experiences. Even the corn on the cob elote was perfectly steamed and seasoned. Hats off to the chefs. We know it's prepared the way it is, but they still have to follow recipes and seasoning, and they do it well! We had a wonderful dinner on Sunday night. This Chili's has been so good lately! The food is always fresh and delicious. The 3 for me special is such a steal and if you have a rewards account you get chips and salsa free. The blackberry tea is my favorite and my fiance loves the monthly margaritas. Even when they're really busy, the service has been pretty good. It can be a little loud on the weekends but that's expected for the type of restaurant. My son has seemed happy with the kids menu as well. Why this location only have 3 star rating, I don't know. That does not match with our experience. Service was good, bartender was attentive, and was able to keep up with her bartop and all the incoming orders for drinks from the whole dining room. Service was rather slow. Maybe that's why they only have 3 stars on Yelp. 15ish minutes or more for dessert. The standard is 8-10 minutes. Our burger (the Bacon Rancher) was delicious. While it wasn't cooked to order as we would have liked (it was well done instead of the medium we had ordered), it was still very juicy and flavorful. There were 4 of us, and we placed our drink orders, it took a while and then we placed our dinner orders. Two orders were salads and 2 orders were steaks. We talked for a while, and then realized about 40 minutes had passed and we still had no food. About 10 minutes later the manager said our food was under warmers for too long and will have to be redone and was going to comp us for the inconvenience. We waited, and waited, and it was now almost 9:30 pm, we asked for it to go, after another 10 minutes we just left. Not sure what was going on. It was not crowded, plenty of staff, and never saw the manager and our waitress seem to have no clue. Never had this happen any place else. Two of us are in our 70's and two in 40's, we were a very quiet, and did not cause any issues as they had come to us with the problem and was going to fix it. I went and picked up the menus and we sat down in a booth to look everything over. Several minutes passed and a blond waitress walked past our table to check on a family of 3 who sat nearby. The waitress stopped by our table and addressed the 2 of us as 'guys'. How are you guys doing today, is what she said. I don't know when that became a saying especially when the person(s) are clearly Women! Addressing Women as guys is very Disrespectful and Annoying! I responded that we were Not guys and that was rude of the waitress to address us as such! The blond waitress's face turned beet red and without a word of apology, she did an abrupt turn and walked away from our table. I was just about to get up and seek the manager of the restaurant, when a very nice young lady (the name on the receipt is Teondra) who was assisting with the to go orders, approached to ask if we were ready to order. She did Not address us as guys! She answered our questions, and recorded our to go food order. I don't understand why it took over 15 minutes to receive the food but the food was okay. The lunch rush was over by the time we arrived. A huge Thank You to Miss Teondra, a very nice young lady, who added some sunshine and positivity to an otherwise unpleasant first time experience. I chose this spot for an evening meal as I hadn't been here for years. The last thing I ordered were their chicken strips which were delicious. In this recent visit, this was not the case. The chicken tenders were smaller in size and lacked flavor. We also ordered the double stacked ranch burger and the meat was surely plentiful but the fries were extremely salty. This was disappointing because near $20 for a burger entree, you would hope the fries were alright. We also wanted to try their chicken ranch quesadilla as an appetizer but ended up getting them after our entrees. They were not enjoyable nor worth the price as you barely get any meat in it. It's two tortilla shells sandwiched together with sour cream, lettuce, and pico de gallo on the side. This was a busy night and understood service may be slower but gratefully, the wait for food wasn't an issue at all. The bartender was very polite and kind. I stopped in for quick lunch and to get to go items for husband later. I was starving after shopping near by and had not been to a chilis in a long time. I wish I had just gone home. Please! please! don't get the chicken fajita explosion salad. The chicken was still frozen, the cheese was moldy and lettuce wilted. The side quesadilla bites were also burnt. The nice bartender had them remake them but they need to clean/change oil. They were terrible. My stomach felt terrible minutes after leaving there. I unfortunately have food poisoning and being admitted to hospital. Don't order any salad or chicken from this restaurant. Henrico doctors hospital doing a report from my visit.
