Side House Salad & Skillet Beef Queso w/ chips & salsa

We sat at the bar. Bartender was good and atmosphere energetic. Finally, they brought back the original queso & chips. Epic marketing fail for sure. Lesson learned and it's back after 6+weeks. Woot woot! My only disappointment this time was the side salad (6.29). I get it's a side salad but honestly they gave side salad a whole new meaning today. Guinea Pig size. Not even sure it would satisfy them either. lol. Anyway, we will be back, just no salads. ;)

We are usually not overly impressed with chilis, but this visit had us all very happy. The food was prepared correctly, it was hot, the portions were correct, the service was good, and everything tasted great

I got the 5 piece chicken tenders with fries, honey mustard and Mac and cheese.with a Dr.pepper and

Food was amazing the waitress was fantastic (love her). The atmosphere was amazing, friendly, kind. But there was a black beard hair in my friends fries but over all it was amazing.

What you see in the picture is $21 once tax gets you, and that's without getting some of the cocktails. Definitely plan on breaking $100 if you get a few drinks here with your spouse. We dined with a party of 5 on Saturday evening and the food was quite good! It has a pleasant surprise! The restaurant itself is pleasant and decorated well. The food was all tasty - tacos, quesadilla, dips, taco salad and the Gorditas! We liked the thin chips much better than the thick ones that came with the guac and queso. The only negative, and it is potentially a big one, was the service. The host didn't welcome us and was not very friendly and didn't move with any sense of urgency. Our server was very friendly, but at times all of us had empty drinks and it took him a long time to come check on us. My dish said it came with sour cream and when it arrived there was none on it. I asked for some and it took 10 minutes for it to arrive. My food was warm when it arrived, but cold by the time the sour cream arrived. It still tasted excellent, but I would rather go to a mediocre tasting restaurant with killer service than a place that tastes great, but you are never checked on. The restaurant was busy, but not packed. There were empty tables. The manager brought our food and checked on us at the end and he was cleaning tables. He was very nice and I felt like he probably needed more help or to do some training. I work in the service industry and I know how tough it is. But you have to have energetic staff that know how to check on folks and communicate or else you will die on the vine. I think overall we will be back and hope it was just an off night with service. To those about to dine, I salute you! Good luck with the service!

I visited on 8/22 around 2-3 PM, and the service I received was extremely disappointing. I was charged for two Chipotle Ranch sauces but wasn't informed of the additional charge when I asked for them. As someone who has worked in the service industry, I believe customers should be made aware of additional charges when ordering. The tray also comes with a sauce, but I still had to ask for it. I was genuinely looking forward to having a great experience and sharing a positive review on my socials to continue bringing attention and hype to the restaurant. Unfortunately, after my experience today, I can no longer do that. Also, just a heads-up for anyone planning to visit they are currently not serving alcoholic beverages, so if you're specifically coming for a margarita or another cocktail, keep that in mind. The food was good, but unfortunately, good food doesn't make up for poor customer service. Based on my experience today, I won't be returning. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because the service should match the quality of the food.

I fell in love with Superica when I first moved to Charlotte nearly three years ago, and it quickly…read morebecame one of my go-to spots for reliable, flavorful Tex-Mex. But I have to start with a small heartbreak: my beloved puffy taco is gone. I grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where the puffy taco was created, and it's deeply nostalgic for me. It's not a sope, not a tostada--it's a true puffy taco, light, airy, and unlike anything else. For a long time, Superica made one that came remarkably close to what I grew up with. Unfortunately, after changes in leadership and kitchen management, it quietly disappeared from the menu. That was a real disappointment. That said, I still come back--because the food here is consistently good. The crispy tacos with picadillo are my current favorite. Picadillo (P-I-C-A-D-I-L-L-O) is a traditional Latin dish with many regional variations, and this version reminds me of the one my grandmother used to make in San Antonio. The portions are generous, the flavors are balanced, and the menu offers something for everyone--from enchiladas and chile rellenos to steaks and fresh tableside guacamole. Speaking of guacamole, I'm a purist. I like it simple: avocado, jalapeño, cilantro, lime, garlic--chunky and clean. Superica delivers on that. The chips and salsa are bottomless, the salsa has great depth of flavor, and for those who like heat, they offer a tiny dropper of hot sauce that is smoky, bold, and absolutely not for the faint of heart. The ginger margarita is another standout. It comes with a generous piece of crystallized ginger and has a bright, balanced flavor that makes it easy to order a second one. And if you have room for dessert, do not skip the tres leches cake--rich, decadent, and a perfect way to end the meal. I also appreciate the little touches here: * Friendly, knowledgeable waitstaff * A lively bar area that's great for happy hour * A beautiful outdoor patio that makes al fresco dining feel special * And a fun tradition of sending you home with a packaged Texas praline This South End location is my personal favorite. It feels more adult and relaxed, while the Strawberry Hill location tends to be more family-heavy. Both are good, but the vibe here suits me better. Yes, prices have crept up a bit--as they have everywhere--but the quality, consistency, and atmosphere keep me coming back. And as someone who travels frequently for work across multiple states, I appreciate that Superica maintains a dependable standard wherever I encounter it. Bottom line: Even without the puffy taco, Superica remains one of my favorite Tex-Mex spots in Charlotte. Come hungry, bring friends, share plates--and as always, travel safe and eat well.

It was really loud for me and could only hear the people next to me. Ordered some drinks and they seemed to be backed up as it took awhile, but their cocktails were very good and yummy. I do like their family style of chips and salsa, especially the spicy green sauce in the bottle. However, it would be nice to have some spoons to share the salsa for the group. I had the cheese enchiladas and it was really delicious. The enchilada sauce was tasty. The rice and beans are also family style and was a nice addition. I did try the chorizo queso and it was a bit too watery for my taste. Service was great and would be back for the Tex Mex food here again.

It was busy and bustling, a bit noisy, packed spaced. We were waited on my Evie who was an absolute gem, available and professional. I ordered a special taco plate with fish that was beer battered. Blackberry sage had a muddled, interesting flavor to it. Think wine-y but not quite that either. The mixed berry needed more berry flavor but was okay. Lavender was best out of all, but it was teetering on sickly, almost had too much lavender syrup. For entrees, I ordered the puffy Pete chicken tacos. They came out with crema on it when I ordered it on the side, but it was quickly rectified. The portion was good. I was full by the end. The flavor was okay. Chicken cooked fine. But it didn't have much of a sweet heat kick to it without the jalapeños added. Overall, I wouldn't necessarily get it again when we go back. My fiancé ordered the Houston beef puffy taco. He thought the taco was very filling. It had meat falling out of it, which was good. It tasted like a typical ground beef taco. He hoped the chorizo would elevate it, but it didn't. It was similar to a Taco Bell beef taco. Overall, decent tacos, and it helped that it was big for the price. We want to visit again, but we'll try other menu items and stick with water. The music was fine. Country and nothing stuck out. Service was fine. She kept only giving a small amount of napkins for a messy dish, which was a bit annoying, but she was very helpful answering our questions for our first time. So she was overall helpful and pleasant.
