OK. So we came in after a hot day in the sun to refresh and grab a quick bite to eat to close out a fun day with friends. We sat at the bar and noticed we'd been waiting there for fifteen minutes. The general manager was behind the bar with a bartender. Finally the general manager introduces himself and tells us that some people refer to him as "God". It may have been a feeble attempt at humor, but at that point we really weren't receptive to it or impressed for that matter. Apparently one of the waitresses was a no show or something because we waited for over an hour to place our order and waited another 40 minutes for our food. Finally I just notified a waitress that we'd like to pay for our drinks and leave. That took another fifteen minutes because they took awhile to figure out how to make the transaction. read more

Ate at the bar at Homestead Chilis. Bartenders here can NEVER do a good job. Bar is always a disaster with dirty plates waiting to be taken to dishwasher. Beer is always good and food is too...if not...I would never go back. Manager and food runners go to bar to drop off food or tell bartender something but don't pick up plates or help bartender in any way. Clean a glass...pour a beer...do something! And barkeep...you will never do a good job if instead of looking at your guests...you look down at the floor all the time! Pick up your heads! Oh...and try to move fast..it isn't deadly! Cell service is the worst here. No wifi and they don't care what you think about it either. read more

Very disappointed with our take-out order. Quality of the food extremely poor the french fries looked and tasted like they had been sitting for hours and the burgers were burned, hard and dry. We also ordered one of the flatbread pizzas which are one of our favorite. It also looked and tasted like it had been sitting for a long time. I picked up the order exactly 20min after the order was submitted as indicated in the website. No reason for the food to have been served this way. I hate giving bad reviews. Because it shouldn't be based off one bad experience. But when you come in, in such a good mood with your family and your seated quickly and the nights off to a great start! But then your ignored for 20 minutes and have to grab someone's attention to get your meal and drinks placed, which is was the manager who came over and said that he was sorry they were ignoring us and that he wouldn't, and then we still have to wait another 10-15 minutes for just our drinks not even our chips and salsa. Constantly being forgotten the rest of the night. Between 2 waiters and the manager. It seemed like we were no one's table at all. And I LOVE chilli's! There food is always yummy and their service is usually people who try to be good servers. But tonight we felt forgotten ignored and very unimportant. With a group of 6 low maintenance people... Horrible service, I've worked in hospitality for several years so from my perspective it was a hot mess. I had to wait a long time just to speak with the host. After that I still wasn't seated even past twice the amount of time I was told to wait. And the party with the same number of people and no reservation was seated before me. Very poor way of handling a day like Mother's Day. Was told the wait was 45 minutes. Waited outside on the benches by the front door as the inside waiting area was full. Was told I will be texted when I am called. Checked in periodically after the first thirty minutes. After about 45-50 minutes, I was told my name had been called a text sent which was a lie. Never received a text to date. The employees didn't even attempt to walk outside to see if we were outside. Management needs to more on top of the business practices especially on a day like today. I've been going to this chilis since it opened, the service is always a hit or miss. Long waits for food, horrible waiters and mgmt just doesn't seem to care. My husband and I vowed to never go again after last month's ordeal, but we found ourselves there tonight celebrating my best friends daughters bday. As I was half way done with my meal I go to pick up a quasadilla and there was a hair on the bottom of it. I just wanted to vomit. Mgr came to apologize and offer me a new plate. Really?!?!?!? I do not know why I even wasted my time going into the restaurant. I usually carry out (which is awesome) but my co-workers wanted to eat in. When I arrived, 2 of our party was there. They warned that our waitress, who was usually cordial, was not in a good mood. When she finally reached the table (10 min delay) she wanted to take our drink order, but we were ready to order. She put in our order and brought our drinks. I ordered the shrimp tacos, but did not know that they were spicy. I asked for some more water and some cilantro sour cream because my mouth was burning. She walked away, took another table's order (Party of 4), went to the back to get more water and that table's drinks, and then came back. She told me that the manager would bring the sour cream. In a monotone voice, the manager stated that they were out of cilantro sour cream and brought me regular sour cream. (This is lunch, not late dinner! How are they out already???) My family and I frequent chili's and love our home location which is in Kendall. We were visiting our parents and decided to stop at the homestead location which we have been to before and had no problems. Today however we we sat at a booth in the bar which we have no problem with but the service was horrible. We were greeted with a server with no name and asked for Childrens menus and when she came back gave them to us instead of the kids, we then placed our order and our Texas cheese fries were not fresh at all and the kids food came and never got their drinks that were ordered. We then told the server and she didn't even show any empathy nor ask if we wanted another. She left the fries on our table and left. My chicken was cold when it came out and the server never even came to check on us. Asked for the manager and the sever for the next table thought it would be funny to ask me for a message and then I said no and began to say so surprise him them. The server spilled/threw salsa on my boyfriend in her rush to drop the tray and ruined his clothes. Mistakes happen, but she didn't seem to care. Took her time getting a cloth for him to clean himself up. Half the salsa container was all over him and the table. The Caesar salad I ordered was drowned in dressing and oil from the grey colored shrimp that topped it. It was soggy and inedible and taken off the bill, but the salsa appetizer was not, despite us wearing it. To finish strong, the table kiosk didn't work and froze on our card several times. After 15 minutes she took the card to the back herself. A long while later we are wondering where the card is, and we see her bring cake to another table and sing happy birthday. She had our card in her pocket. Took her time bringing it back to us, despite us having tried for over half an hour to pay for this joke of a meal. It was 950 pm, not busy. Loved chilies when we lived in NY. However this Chilis is badly managed, food is terrible and so is the service. Keep giving it a chance because we live in Homestead hoping its gotten better, but this is our LAST time. Waste of time and money!
