this place is either a hit or miss. the food always tastes good but for some reason half the time we go here the food is Luke warm at best. Because it's Chili's, I feel obligated to give it two stars instead of one. When we were younger we used to come here all the time, but over the years the quality of this location has deteriorated. Today I decided to order a 6oz sirloin cooked medium. It took about 25 minutes for our food to come out, and when it did my steak came out closer to a rare-raw. So when the server returned with my medium steak I couldn't help but laugh at the fact that they literally gave me the same steak, including the slice that I cut off originally! We usually don't come to this chili's, we come to the one off of Taylor street... this chili's in particular can be a hit or a miss, depending on the waiter (boy=super slow service, girl=great fast service) this particular night we got a girl server, she was Hispanic, although I want to say that she apologized and said she was not our waitress but she was helping out, BUT as it always tends to happen they think we don't speak English because she started off her intro in Spanish... she took our drinks and order. Cue the actual waitress... she came to our table and hurriedly repeated the order, we just nodded and trusted that the first girl got it because she wrote it down. We got our order first BUT my husbands order wasn't correct. They brought him a salad instead of his burger. The manager and our waitress apologized to the point that we felt completely awkward about the whole situation. The waitress kept saying she dreaded to come to us because of the mistake and blamed the first girl, I get it you have to make excuses to cover yourself. When my husbands order was brought out we didn't make a fuss, we didn't throw a tantrum we didn't do anything to suggest our disappointment, we just politely let them know our order was wrong, the waitress made a bigger fuss than she was supposed to and in the process made us feel guilty and uncomfortable about the whole thing. I understand that some guests like the overly apologetic servers but there also has to be a balance. When my husband finally got his meal the first girl came to check on us and she noticed we hadn't even gotten our appetizer, we again politely declined it but the manager insisted on bringing it out and he even took the appetizer off the check and he gave my husband his order free. I rated this place a 3 stars because they have to be able to know how to balance the situations, the food was great the service was good. read more

I just witnessed the server giving the wrong order to the wrong party, then my food which was to go, went to the party whose order was wrong or not even put in. SO I WENT IN, PAID FOR MY DAMN FOOD and someone else get mine because somebody else messed up. BUT MY FOOD AGAIN IS ALREADY PAID FOR, what kind of shiggidy is this. I won't be coming back. The service was terrible. There were only a few people and it took ages for the food to arrive. We ordered appetizer and main course but the waitress forgot to place the order for the appetizer. OK, she apologized but she didn't look very concerned about her mistake. Then, the side order was missing but we were so hungry at that point that we started eating. When she came along to pick up the plates we told her about the side and she looked confused and apologized again. Seriously? With hardly anyone such a misearable service? Service is ridiculously disappointing...Sat at a table in the bar area and did not get service for over 30 minutes, when Douglas the server finally decided to take a order it took 20 minutes for him to tell me they had no bone in wings, meanwhile the salad which was NOT served to me because the order was never placed and deep eddy vodka was served to me after 4 other people sat down took orders and recieved thier food. When I question why my order is taking so long, the waiter told me to talk with the bartender even though he was the one who took my order. Came into the restaurant with my family, the restaurant wasn't busy. The hostess wasn't pleasant at all and said let me find a table. She never returned and after waiting for 10 minutes we walked out. My wife called back to tell them the reason why we left. The hostess who answered the phone just said "OK fine" then hung up. When I walked in I had to ask if a spot was empty at the bar. There are dirty glasses, chips and queso, chips and salsa, French fries and silverware still sitting where patrons have left them. Wow! Probably the worst service/experience I've received. The restaurant was pretty much empty, no hostess, and waited around to be sat for 15-20 minutes just before leaving a girl says just sit in the bar area. One question...How can you screw up a chicken caesar salad? I was with a party of approx. 10-12 people. I ordered a simple chicken caesar salad. That had to be the easiest order out of everyone at my table. Not only did the food take forever, but the waitress comes back with a some sort of salad with chicken that included oranges, pineapples, and all types of other fruit. When I told her I ordered the caesar she then begins to proclaim that that is the chicken caesar salad! I've had many a chicken caesar salad at many different restaurants and never did they include fruit. I looked the salad up on the menu and apparently it was the Caribbean Chicken salad that she brought me. This Chili's needs to get it together, speed up their service and do a better job of educating its employees on the food items that are listed on the menu. My advice...Go Elsewhere! read more

Worst ever! Waited 40 minutes for lunch before asking for a manger. 2nd request and another 10 minutes before manager showed up. Terrible service. There was no one up front. After about 5 minutes someone came up and was rude about the wait times. Even answering simple questions she had an attitude. When we attempted to sit at the bar, we watched numerous amount of waiters just pass us by without anyone acknowledging our table. Just had dinner there and the waitress threw away my Invisalign by accident. Manager Deanna Luprete was working in the same area and never cared to look into the situation or assist her team. I seen that my waitress who was also working as a bartender behind the bar had no time to properly look and try to find my Invisalign. I had to get Deanna's attention on my own. She was not attentive at all and took her time to actually come over. She was not helpful and immediately started putting the blame on me. She rolled her eyes at me and was arguing with me. She has extremely poor customer service and is the most unprofessional individual I've ever dealt with. After her telling me that nothing at all can be done to assist me she went behind the bar to publicly complain about me to one of her staff members in front of customers. Deanna is completely incompetent as a manager and in dire need of customer service training. read more

It took close to 15 minutes before the waiter acknowledged our table so I asked another waiter who was assigned to our table. He started to take our order but the assigned waiter told him he had it. I went in last night for a Mother's Day dinner with my family, and left very upset. First of all we had no problem with the 20 minute wait, even though I saw empty tables I understood they were probably understaffed for the night. So when we get seated we waited for about 10 minutes for our server to approach us, not to take our drink orders but to tell us he would be with us in a minute when it had already been 10! If I wait 20 minutes then I expect to be served in a timely manner, isn't that what I waited for when half the restaurant was empty? So we order drinks and he brings one out, maybe about 10 minutes later he brings out the other 2 which were alcoholic drinks, and still forgot another one. When we finally have our drinks we order, but our waiter doesn't seem like he's listening and he doesn't even write down our orders, and had to come back and ask because he forgot. Fast forward and our orders come out, one of them wrong of course. It was corrected but by someone who wasn't our waiter. Why? Because he never came back to the table. Never checked on us but he did check on all the tables around us. Maybe because we don't tolerate bad service and we let it be known. Sucks for him, I'm a waitress and always tip very generously. Horrible, horrible, horrible. Placed a to go order for 9 people, the girl who helped me over the phone, should have not been allowed to assist me. She couldn't even pronounce the items I was ordering. Honey Chipotle came to be Honey Chiboan? When I asked about the sides on some of the meal options, she didn't know. Kept placing me on hold to get a menu or ask around. I ordered a "Tripple Dipper" and she argued that the picture only showed two items...I tried explaining to her it was called a TRIPLE dipper which means 3!!! I hung up after much frustration. Tried for 6 minutes to get a manager and somehow SHE kept coming to the phone. Finally I get John the manager, and it was still horrible I was trying to explain my issue and he kept talking over me, not listening. So, fed up, I just place the order. He assures me about 20-25 mins, but I give him like 30-35 to be sure. I get there and nothing is bagged... They are throwing our good together in the little containers. They kept touching things with their HANDs! Everything was literally a sloppy mess, and will never go there again. read more

It's a shame I had to give this review a star at all. This was THE WORST visit to Chili's ever. I can see why this location only has 2 stars; evidently rejects who can't cut it at other locations get sent to work here. The service is horrible and the food takes far too long to be served and then is lukewarm by the time it gets to the table. Additionally, the server doesn't even bring the food. That is a server's job - to SERVE. It's in the title. Otherwise all they do is take the order and maybe bring the drinks. And speaking of servers, the one we had was named Ashley. A tall blonde haired woman with an attitude. Do not get her section! She does not need to be in customer service because her people skills are nonexistent. I can't even say they're horrible because that implies she has people skills in the first place. She took our order but didn't smile once and just responded "uh-huh...uh-huh..." after everything we said. Then we never saw her again. Some guy brought the food and the manager came by and asked how everything was and even offered to-go drinks. And while all this was going on, Ashley was standing just a few tables over while the manager did her job. The manager was great; Ashley was rude and unprofessional and should not have a job where people skills are number one priority. Now on to the food. I got a bacon burger and frankly I can make a much better burger at home on a George Foreman grill. This thing should be renamed the Grease Burger considering every time I took a bite, the thing squirted all over my hands. I had to eat it with a fork and knife but since the burger was lukewarm, it killed my appetite pretty quickly. The fries, well they were cold. My wife got the big mouth bites and exchanged the fries for onion rings. The onion rings were an extra dollar and she only got 5! FIVE onion rings for an extra dollar. That's 20 cents per ring. Last I heard onions were NOT a rare commodity. For shame Chili's! The fries are a heaping mound but God forbid you want onion rings. You best eat them 5 rings slowly to make them last. We will NOT be going to this location again. You couldn't pay me enough. read more

I've been to several chilis in my lifetime and all over the United States. This is the first time I've been to one in HOUSTON (off route 45 and almeda Genoa) and I agree with the other reviews. This place is horrible. We ordered an Arnold Palmer and it just seemed so watered down. We ordered the white spinach queso because it looked so good on the page but tasted like it was a piece of cardboard and the cheese wasn't blended together - the warm chips seemed like it was just oily and greasy as if it was like the feeling of bacon out of a fryer. My friends ordered the bacon avocado chicken - it tasted like feet, ordered the rib eye (medium) came out well done and ordered the flat bread and it was exactly that flat!! I won't ever come back this establishment and it may have ruined my experience for all chilis in Texas. To add - we waited 25 minutes for the appetizer and another 30 minutes for the the main dishes. The place itself especially if you look ok the floors isn't cleaned at all. While we didn't see a "roach" like one of the other reviews indicated we can see why there would be some based on the way it looks. Disgusting read more

Today I dined in this chili's. today was my daughters Birthday and she absolutely loves chili's so we decided to go ahead and treat her to a bday dinner. Long story short my server Ron was phenomenal! He tended to our needs and made my daughter feel special. He made sure bday girl had her food out first and even always had a smile. I dont think ive ever been to a "chain restaurant" more horrible then this! We thought at first we just had horrible sever (they arent supposed to be called waiters and waitresses anymore) {apparently} but as we waited we could hear and see that was not the case. There was a whole lot going on in the kitchen and very loud too. Not only did they harass the poor girl trying to get us our food but for what sounded like at least 5 guys back there it took over an hour and a half to get our cold burnt food made not the way it was ordered and missing key things like salad dressing, tortillas, potatoes ect and it was all brought out separately so we all had to watch one kid eat and then the next persons plate and so on... My daughters grilled cheese wasnt very grilled the cheese was not melted at all. The desert was good but took forever as well, which i could understand if it were a busy night but there was almost nobody there on a weekday night. What shocked me though was when there was a problem and they needed to ask a manager about something he was in the back the whole time apart of all the inappropriate loudness and bullshiting going on in the kitchen and the harassment smdh no wonder theyre getting away with that type of behaivor. Also i cant say that i know it was because of something i ate from here but i got very sick a day or two later throwing up and cold sweats and heat flashes and i honestly think it could have very well been from something i ate here. I come to this location often because its close to where I live. I went last Week and ordered from the 2 for $20. I chose the southwest mac and cheese as well as mashed potato for my sides. I got french fries instead of the mac and cheese. Then I got charged for everything separate instead of the $20 plus drinks. The fries just sat there. Honestly we just wanted to eat and get some drinks and in wind so we stood there and waited for about ten minutes, still nothing so we were just going to leave as we were walking out I just couldn't let it go so I walked back in and asked for the manager.
