Our waiter brought out fresh chips for the table and warm salsa, and my gf was about to ask for some green salsa, and our waiter already knew she was going to ask for it; very tentative. Once we had made our order, our waiter was still very aware and checking on us without bothering us, and made sure our drinks were never empty; great job. Once the food was ready, I guess they were having trainee's learn how to bring the food out, however, the young girl who brought the food out for my tables, didnt know how to set the food tray down on the stand and hit the back of my chair, our waiter, knew she had done that and quietly asked her to step away, and I looked at the young girl and told her that she hit the back of my chair, and she never said sorry nor acknowledged an apology, and just disappeared into the kitchen. Our waiter however, he was great, made sure everything was good and we had all that we asked, wanted, and needed; again thank you for being a great waiter. Once we were done with out meal, our waiter had brought some to go boxes, to go bag, and a fresh bag of chips to go, with some fresh warm salsa as well; great great waiter. Today my family and I dined at this restaurant. A local family favorite. Within minutes of sitting down, I noticed an old friend sitting alone across from our table. I went over to speak to her and learned that she had requested an audience with the manager. Apparently, there was a molten chocolate dessert that she wanted to order. The waitress informed her that she could not purchase it. When she asked why the waitress told her it was unavailable for purchase. My friend lifted up a promotion card and said you are advertising it right here. The waitress then told her that she could only order the dessert as part of the special. So my friend sent for the manager, who never came to her table. Minutes later, a customer at another table across from her, complained about an erroneous order. The manager did come out this time. I could not hear the extent of the conversation, however, the look on the woman's face and the conversation afterward told me she was not completely satisfied with his response. Additionally, the customer next to us then sent for the manager to complain that she had order a burger, etc. for her grandson and apparently not seen the same promotion card that my friend was referred to. She informed the manager that she felt that it was the duty of the waitress to have informed her of the specials when taking her order. If the burger was part of a 3 for $10 special that would have been more cost-effective, then won't it have been in the best interest of the waitress (seeking tips) to advise her of the opportunity? This customer went on to be apologetic about her complain and was met with a very rude response from the manager. "I would expect that from people like you", he said. I was appauled. She immediately responded, "People like me?" She was an older caucasion woman. I chimed in. Wow! What was that? She said he said, "People like me!" Why would he say something like that? Don't I have the right, when I am paying for something, to speak up if I am not satisfied. I said, "Yes! You should be able to and his attitude was inappropriate." That was 3 customer complaints in a span of 20 minutes. Let's focus on the elephant in the room. The customer service was lacking. Not for myself and my family. But, in those 3 instances. And the job of the manager is to defuse the dissatisfaction with grace and tack. The customer isn't always right. However, it is the responsibility of the manager to TRY and rectify the issue. That doesn't necessarily mean he's going to agree with you or comp (discount) your meal. But, he should listen respectfully. She did not yell or raise her voice. I was sitting at the next table in a relatively quiet restaurant, so I could hear her. Everyone has a bad day from time to time. Waiters/Waitresses, customers and managers. But when you take the job as manager, you are the expected to understand all sides of that and respond with a cool head. Lashing out insults can't be good for business. Personally, I will not EVER return to that location again. I lost confidence in the staff as a whole. The customer service in a short period of time (and it wasn't particularly busy) was poor. And the customer care was TOTALLY inappropriate. read more

The Chilis on I-10 East and John Ralston is by far the best Chili's in Texas. Their food is always hot and fresh and the service is outstanding! The manager is always on the floor checking on customers, delivering food and just keeping an eye out overall. I love this Chili's! If I didn't love teaching, I would work at Chili's! And I would weigh 500 pounds from eating there! This is the best Chili's ever! They also support our community which is so great! Teachers LOVE Chilis!! read more

He was prompt with our orders, checked in just the right amount, and made us feel really welcome throughout our visit. Also, the food was really good I got the triple dipper and all of the foods on the plate were really delicious everything was cooked correctly. As an Asian customer, this made me feel singled out and discriminated against. I cannot say for certain what the intention was, but the situation felt extremely disrespectful and gave me the impression of racial bias. What made it even worse was that this happened on New Year's Eve, a time when people are supposed to be celebrating and enjoying themselves. Instead, I left feeling upset and disappointed.
