After 5pm the service is very slow. I have waited for 30 mins with out the hostess acknowledging me. Once I complained to the manager I was given a seat and then continued to wait while the person I found out was my waitress had walked pass me 4 times without saying anything to me. Waitress got our orders wrong, didn't give any utensils, I had to ask for refills and she continued to walk around joking with staffwho were off the clock but continued to hang around. I was one of 5 customers who approached the manager about how slow the staff was and the restaurant was fairly empty. We ended up canceling our order and leaving. I asked for a gluten free menu when we arrived, and the hostess said she didn't think they had one. She said "I don't eat here, and if I ever do I would just remove the bread." We were given our silverware, and both sets had food on them, like caked on food. One set of silverware had chunks of freshly eaten food. It was obvious that the dirty fork and knife had been removed from a plate and stuck in the paper bag to go out to a new table. When we showed the server, she suggested we use plastic silverware because of the way they wash their dishes there. It was so stomach turning just looking at that dirty silverware that had obviously not been washed at all, we ended up canceling our food order and left. This was a horrible experience. We were in town for a graduation on the next day and decided to get go somewhere simple, able to watch Game one and get a drink. Chili's was a great location less than five minutes from our hotel. Unfortunately, from the time we checked in with the hostess, we had a bad feeling. The hostess told us that it would be 45-60 minute wait. But there were 5 empty tables waiting to be bussed. We decided to sit at the high top near the bar. The drink were missing alcohol and the bartender was seriously overwhelmed. My veggie black bean fajitas had signs of freezer burn (see picture)! I will not ever come back here again. My niece was extremely disappointed with her mushroom jack fajitas that tasted burnt. On a positive side, our server was gracious. Though she knew that the kitchen and bar was overwhelmed she did everything in her power to help make our visit and enjoyable experience. It just wasn't enough. Decent chain restaurant. I like the 2 for 20 meals. Me and my girlfriend always seem to get those. Past couple times I've got the 6oz sirlon, broccoli, and loaded potato with cheese fries as an appetizer. Great meal. Prices are decent and the food isn't that bad. Let me start this off by saying save yourself the time and money. Me and my husband love Chilis, and we've been to a lot of them. This one is by far the worst. The first time we went, we spent over an hour waiting for someone to just come greet us. Our food was messed up, we saw our server maybe once the whole time, never refilled our drinks. Just a mess and a half. Tonight, we said let's give it another chance, maybe it was just an off night. This was not the case. We waited forever to just get seated, all of the tables were a mess. When we got seated, and we had an even worse experience than the first time. The servers were incredibly lazy, and we sat by the kitchen and we heard constant fighting or screwing around. As a former server, if my past restaurants ran like that we'd be shut down for everyone to get retrained or something. Great place for lunch if you don't want any!! Went in for a quick salad and sat at bar for quicker service. For 15 minutes I was ignored by two separate people behind the bar. One was worried about tv's and the other preoccupied with getting to go orders with a couple folks at bar. Did either one quickly ask what I would like to drink and give me a menu? They would not even make eye contact. So after 15 min I ordered an ice tea with Lemon, of course it came a few minutes later without it. Then I was able to order a simple 5 min salad with shrimp. I asked how long and was told it should be pretty quick. Sooo, 20 minutes later still no food. I had to go back to work and now food will have to wait until dinner. This restaurant was moderately busy but this was inexcusable. I travel all over the Southeast for business and entertain my customers. I have never seen a Chili's so sorry on service. Spotty service, average food. Chili's now sports the Ziosk tabletop system, which I guess allows them to get by with fewer servers. On the upside, you don't have to wait for your check, just swipe your credit card and go. I found the system to be intrusive, constantly up selling. The food was okay, but the service took FOREVER in an empty restaurant. If you don't have a lot of time to wait don't come here. I really don't have much more to say about this place--it's Chili's. I will say that I probably haven't been to a Chili's in ten years and I was glad to see some delicious new menu options. The queso was fantastic, but took 20+ minutes to get it. After ordering my food last night, at Chili's River City Market place, it was about an hour before I got it. I ordered a bacon avocado grill chicken sandwich that came with fries. Well, needless to say, after an hour, my fries came to me cold and the sandwich was not well prepared. The avocado was not on the bread as well as the waiter not checking back with me. Went in, most tables are empty, was told 20 minute wait since they were waiting on server to show up or we could sit at bar. We sat at bar, bartender was very nice, got our drinks and order. Saw server's standing around watching the game, more people sat at bar and bartender disappeared for a while. Husband ran out of water, food runner brought my food and said my husband's steak would be out soon they were waiting on Broccoli and asparagus. I asked if I could get silverware to eat with and he tried to give me to go plastic ware. I asked for real silverware for both of us. He "found" a set and said he would get another. A different guy brings out my husband's and again we asked for silverware, he places plastic ware on the bar, my husband said he needs a steak knife and a real fork. Guy goes back and comes around the bar behind us and throws the silverware on the bar between my husband and another guest. My husband's steak was overcooked and I am now out of soda as my meal was spicy. At this point, the bar area server has been standing at the drink pick up area staring around watching us with no drink and the other bar patrons with no drink as well. The bartender comes back to a large amount of tickets and 8 new guests and us. She takes orders and asked the server standing with no care in the world to bring 2 waters out. One for my husband and 1 for a guest to my right. We finish eating, I never got a drink refill. I pay with the tablet and tried to leave a review there but it froze up on me. I am all about giving a second chance. But, this is really a terrible example of corporate food/bar service. Food would get a 2.5 stars. Came out quick was hot, but over cooked, rubbery and tasteless. Service, gets the minimum over 0 possible. Food and drinks ordered were delivered as ordered, but very slow, poorly presented and at one point more than 25 minutes between seeing the "Bartender". He disappeared for more than 25 minutes, was rushing people to leave from the bar at 8pm all 6 of us. When I spoke to the manager, she was like a stone wall. The basic of apology and lots of excuses. So I keep ordering because normally I love Chili's, and I love their fajitas, and I go to the Chili's back in Sarasota that's fantastic and I keep forgetting how bad this one is!!! There are staff there that are amazing, but the majority clearly have issues! Every time I've ordered delivery, there's bunches of stuff missing from the order... And tonight, half my order was missing. I called Rachelle, the manager, and she offered me a replacement meal but I would have to come pick it up even though I am currently quarantined. Doesn't do me any good Rochelle. I asked her if she would please have someone drop off the missing parts that's out delivering anyway. She said she couldn't do that and was very happy to get me off the phone. I called back to speak to a different manager and leave a message with them for the general manager to call, she told me no and that I would have to call them back to speak with a manager that he would be there the rest of the week. Then she hung up on me! I called back again to try and get someone to take a message for the general manager and she hung up on me the second time!
