Chili's is always a nice spot to get good drinks and an affordable meal. The bartenders are really good and the waitstaff is nice and friendly. The franchise needs to step in before this Chili's ruins their reputation. Again I walk in and restaurant is totally empty and the manager tell me it's a 30 minute wait. This may have been the worst Chili's experience we've ever had. I mean, it's Chili's, so you don't expect too much but it's a classic and prices are reasonable so you go back every so often. We ordered a kid's big mouth bites meal, a triple dipper with big mouth bites, southwestern egg rolls and boneless Buffalo wings, and we did a three for $10 with chips and salsa, honey Chipotle crispers and a blackberry iced tea. The big mouth bites on both the kid's meal and the triple dipper were so over cooked the patties were hard. The southwestern egg rolls were also undercooked so we had to throw them in the air fryer when we got home. The honey Chipotle chicken crispers were also over cooked and were hard to eat because they were so tough. We just continued eating even though we weren't too satisfied until we found a long hair in our salsa. We understand that things happen but it just was the nail in the coffin for us. I used to LOVE Chili's. I usually go to the Oak Leaf location, but I moved to the Northside so the River City location is the closest Chili's to us. Our first visit, my husband ordered the steak and shrimp and they forgot his shrimp. We're very understanding people, so we just let the server(who was very kind) know that the kitchen forgot our shrimp and just told him to take it off the bill and we'd leave it at that. The second time we went, we decided it would be our last. The manager greeted us but looked like he didn't know what to do after that. He just grabbed menus and looked around for 2 minutes. After we got seated my husband ordered the same thing he ordered our last visit(the steak and shrimp) and they forgot our shrimp again. We wanted a booth so we stood by one that still had a dirty tray on it but none of the three to four servers who were just standing around chatting with each other did not notice. So after a few minutes of standing we decided to leave. As we were walking out the lady at the door said "Have a nice day." We ended up calling and asked for the manager and explained the situation but she gave excuses that she just got there and that she is visiting. Let's start by saying after 30 minutes of wait time to be seated my server didn't get to us for another 30 minutes and kept apologizing that it took him 47 minutes to serve with our food. We had to ask another server for silverware and refill and had to personally ask someone else to get our check for us. My family is a fan of Chili's; however, this was the worst eating experience we have had in a long time. Everything was acceptable until the food came out. One meal didn't make it out with the rest. A few minutes later our waiter came by to explain he didn't like the way the plate looked so he sent it back. An additional 25-30 minutes passed then he appeared again to tell us he would take it off the check and it would be out shortly. Once the plate arrived I discovered that the center of the dish was cold. The lady was so rude, even slamming my car door shut while I was still checking my order. We expected to food quality to drop slightly due to transportation times, however the food quality was significantly lower than any other time I've gotten carryout from a chilli's, leading me to believe that this Chili's just has a lower standard of quality. She said "I don't eat here, and if I ever do I would just remove the bread." We were given our silverware, and both sets had food on them, like caked on food. As a former server, if my past restaurants ran like that we'd be shut down for everyone to get retrained or something. This was a horrible experience. We were in town for a graduation on the next day and decided to get go somewhere simple, able to watch Game one and get a drink. Chili's was a great location less than five minutes from our hotel. Unfortunately, from the time we checked in with the hostess, we had a bad feeling. The hostess told us that it would be 45-60 minute wait. But there were 5 empty tables waiting to be bussed. We decided to sit at the high top near the bar. The drink were missing alcohol and the bartender was seriously overwhelmed. My veggie black bean fajitas had signs of freezer burn (see picture)! I will not ever come back here again. My niece was extremely disappointed with her mushroom jack fajitas that tasted burnt. On a positive side, our server was gracious.
