THIS PLACE IS GOING DOWN THE DRAIN! My family and I have been coming here for the last 16 years since we moved to La Verne. We love the staff, the bar, the food and their Margarita. Lately, we noticed the lack of service and their Margarita tastes like sour Mountain Dew absent the alcohol. Last night was no different, we ordered the rib eye steak, bone-in wings and Margarita. The rib eye steak came like an old dry chewing gum, the Margarita was plain sour with no alcohol, the bone-in wings did not come with its usual carrots and celery on the side and the ranch dressing was watery. it took forever to process our payment and when the receipt finally came, the staff charged twice the actual amount of our bill. Tonight we were out celebrating and decided to take our young child out for dinner at Chili's. One of our favorites, especially for the ambiance, good food, healthy options and friendly service! I've lived in La Verne most of my 51 years, and even remember when the restaurant first opened. It has seen some changes over the years, but I can tell you that the service we have received has not deteriorated. Day or night, we always have experienced friendly, and prompt service. Nicole is typically our server when we dine in at night. She is always energetic, fun, and professional. Tonight, around 8:50-9:00 a party of 4 women came in and sat in her section. These women were absolutely disrespectful from the get go. One of the ladies wearing a dress even threw the menu at our server, yelled at her, spewed derogatory and defamatory words at her and then insisted that our server, Nicole, needed to take their order. All this after verbally and physically assaulting her. (Yes, throwing your menu at the server is physical assault). Many of the customers, including our young child, were visibly uncomfortable and nervous as they continued to aggressively attack the server Nicole. Nicole kept a calm demeanor, and ultimately did what any server or restaurant manager should have done, and that is refuse service. In our opinion, she and the rest of the party should not be able to return. Nicole may have kept a calm and professional demeanor, but she was visibly shaken up by what she had just went through. Our child was very nervous and also wanted to leave. Other customers exchanged words and looks of concern for our server. I honestly could not believe my eyes or ears. The lady in the long dress then aggressively approached the manager and became even louder. You could hear her over a full bar and televisions/music. We felt so deeply for Nicole and the rest of the staff that they attacked, we insisted on speaking with the manager so to hear our version of what we witnessed and heard. I'm happy he was receptive and supports his staff and their safety as well as their customers. My point of this review is to remind people that if you're going to act immature, aggressive, and belligerent towards other people, then maybe you need to stay home. Nobody deserves this belittling. Not the bus boy, the hostess, the bartender, the manager, customers, our server, or ANY human being. You are free to make choices, but you are not free from the consequences of them. Shame on you "Party of 4 ladies". You know better, so act better. You're a class act Nicole. Thanks for the great service and positive attitude tonight, even when others tried to "dim your light". By far the worse service at any chili's we have ever been to. We have come back here several times only to say the same thing as we said before, "why do we even come back here?!" Service in the bar area is horrible and they're always understaffed. The usual girl behind the bar has to fill in for the person they stick in there that's probably new there as we never have good service. Tables in bar area take way too long for someone to clean even when they see a crowd waiting around. Managers, servers should have pleasant outgoing personalities, not some hermit crab that can't wait to get back in its shell. Btw we were there this past Sunday It's been 12 months since this review and sadly nothing's changed. No more chances will be given to this chili's. This past Thursday 1/17/19 there were literally 5 people working in the bar area alone. We ordered drinks and then chips. We had to end up asking where the chips were 30 mins after we ordered them. By the time they came, we ended up taking them to go because we finished 2 rounds of drinks and were ready to go. Fail #10 here and they will never get our business again. Someone needs to send them all to the Glendora's chili's and have Kelly from the bar train them. Kelly works harder then the 5 employees they had working AND is able to handle it. read more

We have lived in Laverne for 26 years and used to be regular customers at this chili's . We stopped going about 5 years ago due to poor customer service and poor food quality so we recently decided to give it another try. We went there 7/9/23 about 1:30pm and went into the bar area to sit down. We waited 10 minutes with no acknowledgment when I asked the hostess if there was a server in the bar area? She went and got the waitress so we ordered one beer one water and chips and queso. The waitress then brought my husband's beer but not my water and said nothing to me. finally after I got my water and the chips and queso the waitress never came back to take our food order ?? She walked right passed us and engaged in conversation with the hostess about their work schedules!! After about 30 minutes I finally asked for my bill and a manager. Sal the manager came to our table with a very unprofessional attitude. He did comp our chips and queso which we were not looking for anything for free and never apologized for the service under his watch! I was very hungry and would have loved to order food to eat. I can see why this restaurant only has 2.5 stars and have seen this restaurant that was once a busy wonderful place to eat in laverne go down hill and never recover! This place is really only great if you have no other options around and I can pretty mcuh always find someting better than Chili's. That being said was invited here with family. I went for the quesadilla explosion salad, calling this a salad is insane as it is one of the items on the menu with the most calories, sodium and fat. The quesadillas were sad, limp and greasy, passed on eating them. The salad itself horrible quality, poor presentation. Service lacking, the long waits I don't get what for. I just left this location. While the food was decent our server was not. She didn't order our chips and salsa. I know she heard me because our drinks were correct. She stood at the back laughing with the manager on duty. Once we got the managers attention he got our chips for us. She made a comment that she had to yell at the people in the back for forgetting our food. We asked for cheese and lettuce only to go with our fajitas. When I rejected the boat with everything and asked for cheese and lettuce she got mad. She got mad when I asked for plates. The server yelled at me in front of everyone in the restaurant and said I was rude to her and her helpers. I never once got mad or raised my voice. She reached over the entire table over our food and yanked the pay tablet off and said it needed charging. It actually worked. I don't think she wanted me to review her service. The manager on duty gave us a dirty look and he ignored us. The server ignored us and her helpers ignored us. She made sure to give the most amazing service to all her other tables and hoped we saw. She didn't get nice until it was time to tip. What a horrible experience. We couldn't even enjoy our meal. I am letting the general manager know, the district manager, and corporate know of this horrible experience. Montclair Chilis is better and kinder. It's a Chili's. You either like the food, or you kind of like the food, or you despise the food, or you just like the chicken sandwich, or you just like the mushroom jack chicken fajitas, or the buffalo chicken salad . . . or you scoff and sneer at all that it is. I don't know if I've even eaten at this one. Food is the same anyhow. What I have experienced in the past few weeks is the bar. The bar staff is pretty good, amicable, affable. But what is most entertaining is that this bar has a pretty entertaining collection of serious winos and blowhards and characters, with or without a full set of teeth. I suggest you go over there between 4 and 6 o'clock; you'll run into some of the drunkest people you've ever seen at those hours. Good fun. read more

After running some errands in the area, I decided to order take-out on my way home. I did a quick order of my usual and went straight to the location to pick it up. Upon entering, the restaurant was fairly empty for a Sunday night. My server greeted me immediately and knew exactly what I had ordered. She was friendly and fast, I had no problem with the service. The quality of food however was disappointing. I understand that when your order take-out, the food isn't going to be peeping hot and I expected that much but I didn't expect it to be almost inedible. I ordered the original chicken crispers and fries and the both were over fried. You can immediately tell that they were not cooked properly. Chilis has always been a go to for a fast dinner or somewhere to go to hangout with friends. In the last 2 weeks I've been to this location 3 times and I'll have to say that the service is pretty god here. and the one time it wasn't they accommodated me by giving me a free cup of soup. I've never hated on Chili's. It's generally a good crowd-pleaser, and with a happy hour! But I just have never been able to like the food very much. No matter how exciting your entree sounds, the food just tastes so generic and mass-produced. My bf's son chose this place because they have little screens at every table where you can check out the menu and play video games. If a kid has choices and one choice involves video games, that's what they will choose. It's actually kind of genius for people who like distractions for their children, or rewards if they behave well in a restaurant. I ordered the Short Rib Enchiladas, he got the combination fajitas, and the lil one got the mac and cheese. We also got the fried pickles to share. The short rib was probably the most bland I've ever had, and the mac and cheese looked/tasted just like Kraft blue box. Everything was good, but not GREAT. However, the bartender and servers were very, very nice, and we weren't rushed. Last week my husband and I attempted to dine at chili's for lunch. We got there just shortly after it opened, about 11:30. We waited outside to be greeted for 7 minutes and not one person came out. My husband mentioned maybe we go and knock on the door but we shouldn't have to do that! The exterior of this particular chili's is extremely run down and to top it off there was a homeless person popping in and out of the bushes. Tonight we ordered food "to go" for dinner. Although it was done in a timely manner the staff was very unorganized and our food was cold before we got home. I only live 4 minutes from there and they forgot my salad I paid extra for. My friend and I returned to Chili's today after a long absence, it failed epically. I ordered a Kettle One rocks, which they don't seem to stock, so order a Gray Goose and the poor was incredibly small. I asked the bar tender who had the softest/quietest voice I have ever heard and about the only thing she told me was "corporate store and it is not a full drink" no I am not kidding. On top of this the food was far less than amazing, all I could taste in my soup was salt, like some poured the entire bucket in... So the next time I ordered a double and it was no better, the bartender discounted it to a single, but still, why are they doing this. We ended up speaking to the manager by off chance and she was less caring about the issue than the bar bartender. My family and I eat here about once a month since we've lived in La Verne. It's been about 10 years and have only had 2 bad experiences. When we go my son loves the video games. It's a great distraction for him, the paper menu isn't that entertaining for the older kids but are still to young to order from the grown up menu. We always ask to be seated in Rebecca's area. She is always smiling, nice, knowledgeable, and isn't over bearing. She is also very quick and not forgetful like some waiters/waitresses in other establishments. She is usually at the bar now but that means more money for her, right!? We're happy for her. Chili's in La Verne were kind enough to donate $25.00 gift card to GFWC La Verne-San Dimas Woman's Club. OMG CAN ONE CHILIS GET IT TOGETHER!!! My kids and I love chilis but this location always has the worst service no matter what the time of day it is. Me and my husband always come to take my in laws and our kids out as a group of 7. But it never fails at this location it takes forever to be seated, forever to get your order in, and worse longer to get your food. If we don't order chips and salsa you literally would be having kids complain the whole time on why the food is taking so long. But by the time the food finally comes my kids our full on chips!!!
