3.5 stars. June 22, 2019 Been to this Chili's in La Verne quite a few times. They recently remodeled. It needed it. Looks nice now. Food is pretty good for a corporate chain (which I usually avoid). Still, the food is consistently too salty and greasy here. My wife likes the food here though much more than I do. She's a sucker for a deal and likes Chili's because they have a 2 for $25 dinner. They also have many more craft beer choices nowadays. We like that they have "Pomona Queen" on tap which is a local beer from Upland. Actually, this particular Chili's is where we first learned about "Pomona Queen" about 5 years ago when we first moved to this area. If you have Verizon wireless, don't expect a signal here. This area is terrible for Verizon service but this will also keep you off your phone and that's a good thing. My wife and I have a rule...stay off your phone when you are dining together at a restaurant so... if you are here at Chili's and reading this review, put your damn phone away right now. Communicate/spend quality time with each other. Not the phone. We sat at the bar this afternoon. Chatted a lot with Rebecca (the bartender). She was great but told us she's moving to Florida next week. She will be missed. Sad, but who can blame her for getting out of this crazy ass state. My burger was super greasy today. Go figure. Used to come quite often but over the years this establishment has gone downhill as far as wait staff and management. My most recent visit has prompted this review. I came with my dad and one year old daughter. We ordered there lunch specials and were charged the regular price. I didn't notice until I got home; hate paying with those kiosks. Anyway, I went back a few days later and explained what had happened to the manager and she said she would refund our order because we were over charged, GREATLY. I wait over a week and still no refund; I went back. Again explained it to yet another manager, he said the other manager did NOT make the refund but he would make sure that I was credited the entire purchase immediately. Well, I got a credit for 7.00; the order was over 65.00..that was NOT MY ENTIRE PURCHASE. I'm so very unhappy with not only the customer service from the wait staff for OVERCHARGING but from MANAGEMENT!! 1st the good! We were greeted well and seated quickly. Our server was very nice and did a good job. The food was also good, even though they forgot my butter. The bad. We had staff sitting in the booth behind us being louder than the rest of the restaurant and rather obnoxious. We had some guy that wasn't our server basically drop our plates on the table and walk off like he was inconvenienced by bringing our food to the table. Our food made it to the table before our coffee, but to be fair they had to brew some coffee for us. Overall the experience was more or less neutral. I was so impressed with their service. We have had very poor experiences with Chili's our past two visits. This location was a bit of a drive for us, but was absolutely worth it. The employees were out side ready to help. The app and website were down so we did a phone order. Our order was prepared in less than 30 mins. My only complaint was the ice in the drinks. The alcoholic drinks were filled with ice all the way to the top. It was difficult to put the straw in the cup. All three of the drinks were like this. read more

Chili's is a great place to eat! We love their chips and queso (by the way, you get these for free just for joining their e-club!) as well as their Chicken Enchlada soup. This place has a new outdoor look, which is very nice. You can also call ahead to put your name on the wait list on busy nights. I highly reccomend joining the e-club. You get many coupons for free things like desert and appatisers. You also always get something for free on your birthday! Wow. My expectations are not high for chilis but this visit so far has far exceeded expectations. Sitting at our table for more than 20 minutes in a largely empty restaurant we were not acknowledged by a server or any other staff person after the host seated us. I watched the abundant staff socializing, hugging and milling about. The tables around us sit dirty and uncleared. Servers walk by oblivious to the customer experience. We are trying chili's because it is in our neighborhood. Can't use the pandemic as an excuse. Plenty of staff. Just a mess. Also I would suggest that the entry area be checked for mold. Im surprised about the low reviews that this Chili's gets. We have been coming here periodically for the past 10 years and have never had a bad experience with the food or the service. The orders may need an occasional adjusting but the waitresses have always been pleasant about fixing the issue. Tonight the restaurant was busy but not packed. We never expect a quiet setting here because of the bar area, not to mention the family group parties like the one next to us tonight. But we always enjoy time eating here and watching some of the games or sports shows playing on their tvs. Tonight we had the pleasure of being served by Angie. She was punctual at greeting us and serving our drinks as we looked over the menu. We din't have to wait long for her to take our order. She was patient with us as we had a few questions about substituting some items. Not once did she make us feel like we were taking up too much of her time even though she had a busy section to handle. All plates that were put down on the table were placed right in front of my baby !! Who the heck does that?? Cmon it's only common sense to keep all hot plates away from the babies at the table knowing they will reach out for what's in front of them.. not once did the waitress come and pick up our dirty plates from the table.. we also had to ask for a refill because they were soooo busy with customers ! HA! Our stay ended up with a server placing a hot pazookie that came straight out the oven right in front of my baby and he ended up burning himself!!!! The server apologized and walked off quickly not offering anything to comfort my child burning hand. Manager came over and offered a bag of ice for his poor burned hand. Ever since the pandemic EVERYWHERE has been slow and it's not always the restaurants fault. Very understaffed, so please be kind to the ones who show up. They're doing the best they can like all of us are. I just left this location today for the second time and we had the server DYLAN. Our first visit he was incredible. So attentive and just kind and always making sure we were doing okay or needed anything. Whenever we come we will always sit at the bar now. He makes us feel so welcomed and it's servers like him that should be recognized. It's rare these days so it means that much more when someone goes above and beyond. Thank you so much Dylan! We ordered curb side take out which is a really kool option although the food quality and quantity for the price is the LEAST to be desired! Just my opinion but it looks like you get less food for take out than when you dine in. (See my photos) This is actually what pissed me off the most! I ordered a shrimp fajita that had raw onions, raw bell peppers and already cooked but room temperature shrimp. But that's not all, my cup of beans was only 1/4 full(see photos. I had to heat up my fajita in the microwave and even that didn't help cuz it was still raw. On another order I specifically asked for no onions on my sons burger which Ashley did repeat back to me, but it STILL came with onions. I did call and speak to the manager who was very apologetic and offered to remake food or remove charge for both orders which I have yet to see. We had cravings for Chili's so we ordered on the app. We ordered a 2 for $25, kids meal and a simple soup and salad. My husband and daughter picked it up and said it was dead inside the place since they closed down the dinning area cause of Covid. And we picked up at curbside. They were friendly and handled the food to them. At home, we opened the packs and were well packed. My husband said that the meat was a bit hard to chew. Kids mac and cheese was fine. La Verne Chilis is definitely not as good as the one in San Dimas. Issues almost every time we go in.

Not bad for a quick lunch with the coworkers, however our orders got messed up and our bill was wrong twice! We all opted for the Lunch combo specials $6, $7, or $8. House Salad with Citrus Balsamic Vinaigrette - pretty good staple salad, however the dressing tasted like thousand island, and was very thick. I'm glad they put the dressing on the side, I just drizzled the salad very lightly with it since it was very strong. Half Margherita Flatbread - it wasn't cooked all the way through. They messed up my order because my coworker changed her Margherita to chipotle chicken and so the waitress changed both of our orders instead of hers. Out comes the flatbreads and they give me chicken, and I told them I didn't order this. The manager, I assumed, was serving us our entrees, so she took it back, talked to the waitress and confirmed that we had two chicken flatbreads...never the case, since I am vegetarian! Everyone got their meal and I was waiting for mine, but it came too quickly in my opinion and I was right. The pizza wasn't cooked all the way. The center was uncooked and so I ate the edges mostly. I didn't have time to send it back, had to get back to work, and didn't want to be the only one eating after my coworkers finished their meal. **Note: also DON'T play with their cool touch screen monitors at the table, it charges you 99 cents every time you do a trial game play or accidentally click on something you didn't know about. Dirty! Splatter and sticky stains all over bar table. Waiter at the bar didn't have a care in the world! Dinner salad was wilted an discolored. Was given bone in wings instead of boneless. I told him I'd eat these as long as I dont pay the extra price of bone in wings. After the plate took a lap around the restaurant, he brought them back and asked if I'd eat those. My recent experience at Chili's has proven to me once and for all its superiority over Applebee's. Whoever invented the 3 for ten deal must hate money while also being a potential marketing genius. There's no way it's financially feasible to give that much food away for so little money. I'm dead serious when I say I'm unsure of where else in the state of California you can get so much food for the asking price of $10. As a consumer I'm obliged to eat said food and preach about it on this website. Please take advantage of the deal for the sake of appreciation and respect for the dollar value of this meal. Next let's talk about the service. Get these people onto one of the US Olympic teams. I don't care which one, but this level of coordination deserves to be recognized. While we did have a primary server, what I noticed was an intricate and comprehensive system of ensuring people got their food as fast as possible. Instead of being limited to one person per table, it felt like the entire staff knew our order and was able to bring it to us as soon as the food had been prepared. Horrible tiny bar that they totally over packed. I am pretty sure it would have been a fire code violation. Too many tables were squeezed into the bar so when people were seated, there was no way to walk by or even easily get up from the table. If there was an emergency, forget about it. Tyler is someone that I've seen coming back and forth through the kitchen for as long as I've been coming here. me and my father usually sit at table number one. Every time we come in we see Tyler and you can always recognize him by the enormous smile on his face. This kid legit radiates light. I'm not sure if he's just a food Runner or a server but sometimes he delivers our food to us and is always so helpful and friendly. Pretty upset with the food quality. I couldn't even eat it. Got the 3 for 10.99 original chicken crispers with a side salad. Lettuce was brown and soggy. Cucumber was soggy. The chicken crispers had the weirdest texture and tasted terrible. The outside was super soggy and the chicken inside was hard. Definitely not crispy. I'm definitely coming back to this chili's. The food and drinks were great and our server Cristen was amazing!! She was so patient with my kids always smiling. I really appreciate that from a waitress. We ordered chicken enchilada soup, Cesar salad with shrimp and Caribbean salad with shrimp. We also got food for our kids: mini burgers and chicken strips with fries. For dessert mini molten and they were so delicious! I also got a Presidente margarita! Everything was yummy! read more
