    Santa Fe Salad
    Judi B.

Entering this location, it's the standard Chili's flare. We were greeted with a big smile and quickly seated in the bar. That was the only thing that kind of irritated me, only because I feel that sitting in the bar should be a patron choice and unluckily for us, there was a loud party in bar area that made it difficult to converse with my husband due to the noise. Our friendly server came out immediately and drinks magically came out moments later with our chips and salsa. Chips were crispy and fresh with a generous salt sprinkle and the salsa was great. I ordered the Santa Fe Salad and hubby had the chicken tenders with fries and Mac & cheese. Again, dinner came out within minutes, followed by prompt drink refills. My salad was impeccable; dressing was spicy yet delicious. All toppings and lettuce were crispy and fresh. Husband loved his tenders-hot and tender (no pun intended), fries were perfectly cooked and the Mac and cheese was creamy. We gobbled everything up at a feverish pace. Service was always attentive, prompt and friendly. The food, service and ambiance is always consistent. Everyone tries so hard here to make it a good experience. I don't understand the hate on Chili's!

The food is mid, a bit saltyyy. Just came her for an appetizer and drinks. The service is ok. The environment is nice!! My sis and I enjoyed our sister date. Had a yummy margarita for $6 and then an appetizer. Our server was very kind and matched our energy. I'll definitely be back.

We came here to try the famous triple dipper. And it met its expectations. Our server was really sweet and patient and provided excellent service! And overall the ambiance had this nice like tex-mex vibe. I'd recommended coming here!

Came in for dinner and Monday night football. We normally don't eat this early so it was dope to see how busy they were! There a good amount of people out eating dinner, it was fantastic. We sat in the bar tonight so we can catch the game. We were greeted pretty quickly. Our server grabbed our drinks and food orders and got the party started for us! Our chips and salsa came out quick! Not too long after our queso got delivered. Both items are pretty consistent as every other time, they were good. My chicken enchilada soup was tasty! It had huge chunks of chicken in it. And it was extra cheesy! I wish that they would be a little cleaner when serving the soup. Nothing more gross than having soup all over the backside of your bowl.... For dinner I got the triple dipper. I like the variety of things you can get! I grabbed the southwestern eggrolls and the honey Chipotle chicken crispers. The egg rolls did look differnt to me. I don't remember the wrapping of the eggroll to be so thick and the filling had such a small amount in it. The egg rolls have changed and you totally get your money's worth of egg roll wrapping that's for sure. Not impressed. The honey Chipotle chicken had good flavor. The texture of their chicken is something I can't seem to like. I remember the chicken crispers being fire back in the day but they changed it and it's never been the same. Service was great, the vibe was fantastic but the food for me was 50/50 tonight. The changes in the egg roll were a flop for me.

Of course they had an extensive wine menu, but even though we were both underage there were many options for us. My girls strawberry lemonade was pretty tasty. We made a reservation, so we were seated pretty quickly. The folks were so nice, the ambiance was pretty chill, having dairy queen as a general date spot this was a wonderful treat for us both. We ordered an appetizer of cheese bread. I thought it was pretty good quality, a little high price, bur I expected that because it's a higher end restaurant. Our entree's took a bit of time, but it was to be expected the place wasn't empty. I think we waited somewhere between 15 to 30 minutes after we finished our bread. But when they came, it was worth the wait. I ordered a 14 oz new york strip. My family raises their own beef, so steak is nothing new to us. It was so good, I took a piece home to share with my family, and everyone agreed, it was fantastic. My girl had the rotisserie chicken, falling off the bone delicious, Colonel Sanders needs to step up his game. Another thing I can say, I find usually in high end restaurants I find myself still hungry afterwords, not here, I was completely satisfied with my meal. We ordered dessert, it was the vanilla bean something or other, don't eat fancy so I don't quite know these things. Here comes my only complaint, the sugar coating tasted a bit like burnt coffee, but was still delicious and we ate the whole thing. Before she brought it out, our server asked about the occasion. She took a picture of us with our dessert, which had writing in strawberry sauce, "happy anniversary". Like I said, we don't eat fancy often, especially because we feel unwelcome in many places with as young as we are (18 and 19), but this place made both me and my girl feel special, thank you land and ocean. I cut our faces out for privacy, she took a good picture don't worry about that.

I had requested this table so everything was smooth from calling in to getting in. My daughter and I arrived a little early to set up the table. We got everything set up and just chilled till everyone showed up. I did forget the birthday candles I bought so I drove home to grab them. I missed the whole ordering process. I had my daughter order the pineapple hanger steak with no potatoes subbed for veggies for me. I left before they ordered and was only gone for about 25 minutes. My food had already been sitting for 10 minutes waiting for me before I got back. I was honestly surprised at how fast everything was prepared. I did enjoy my meal. It was really good. The hanger steak was tender and very savory. The shishito peppers were cooked and grilled perfectly. I got a total of 6 and only 1 of them was spicy, I'm ok with that! The asparagus was grilled to perfection. Not overly cooked but tender with a slight bite. The best way to have asparagus. I think this would have been a 5 star experience but this is where I'm so unhappy. I brought a cake in. I also brought in candles, a vintage cake plate and plates for us to eat the cake on. It was all planned out. Our server did not communicate with me at all about the cake once she pulled it out for me. One minute it was sitting in it's box on the servers table and the next minute there's a huge, tacky firework in it. Like, I had a pretty cake made with delicate candles to put in it to have this goofy firework in the middle of it. I didn't take one photo of the cake before she violated it with the stupid firework. If you plan on bringing in a cake that you don't want touch, tell your server. Food was great. The vibe was chill. But I will always have this stupid firework in the middle of my cake as a core memory of this joint.

For my entrée, I had the steak bowl with stir-fried sesame brown rice & red quinoa, mushrooms, snap peas, bok choy, carrots, red onion, baby broccoli, and red pepper flakes. The smoked ham a tad salty but paired with the hollandaise very well. Ripe tomatoes. The greens for a side was my choice versus potatoes. I'll have to try the potatoes next time because this day was going to be hot and smokey, so I needed to keep it light. I drink coffee black, and the coffee was really good. On the service, as some have complained about, I can't really speak to that. I went in before work, so I was there at 7. By the time I left at 7:45, two more tables came in and one had already left. 9 or 10am on a Sunday is probably different. So the service was good for me. The decor was an updated nautical theme that I seen before. A few decades ago, I went to a First Watch in a land far away. It would have also been nice if they had everything bagel seasoning for the dish as well and could offer to customers. The fall breakfast sandwich my friend ordered was awful and way over flavored with the maple. We ended up getting that replaced it was that bad. I would also like to add that the potato's are not that great either. Tasted like they were undercooked and had a crunch to the cent of them not a crispy exterior. I was a little apprehensive, which unfortunately, my apprehension was warranted. We arrived around 5:45pm on a Thursday night and were asked if we could wait for 20 minutes. We sat and waited...and waited...and 2 other couples came in and were offered bar or outside seating instead of waiting (seriously?!?! We weren't given those options). One took the outside seating, the other opted to wait as well. We watched at least 6+ parties leaving, but we continued to wait. After 35 minutes, we were finally seated....and there were several empty booths around us. It took almost 10 minutes before our server arrived, so we had our orders ready. Drinks came about 10 minutes after ordering. Dinner came out at 7:15 pm. We had no idea this experience would be this long. Food looked great, but after one bite into my Cajun chicken club, I was really disappointed. The chicken was stringy-dry (at least my jaw got a workout) and the buns were borderline burnt instead of toasted. All the other ingredients (bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheese) were fresh and thankfully, enabled me to eat most of the sandwich. We rarely saw our server and both me and my husband ran out of drinks (we even finished off both waters) before she showed up for a refill. We didn't leave there until almost 8pm. For some reason, we were seated in a corner booth near the bathrooms, while other customers were seated elsewhere in the restaurant. We didn't mind, however, because it was nice and quiet. And, for me, convenient. My wife had the Sirloin Salad, and I had the Ahi Poke Salad. My wife said that her meat was cooked the way she likes it, and the rest of the ingredients were delicious. For me, the ahi, sesame vinaigrette dressing, wonton strips, onions, and greens were very good. The food is always good at The Tavern. And, the prices are reasonable. Unlike our past experiences, the service this time around was not up to our usual. Our server, Hannah C., seemed in a rush and impatient. Though she told us to ask her if we had questions, I didn't find her responses to be pleasant. The first dish my wife was interested in had Boursin cheese. My wife had not heard of it, and she cannot eat a lot of cheese. She preferred something milder, like mozarella. When she inquired of Hannah, the reply was terse. "We don't have mozarella." "Do you have another milder cheese?" "Like what?" Not in a nice way, and not professional, in my opinion. And, she was loud. We waited longer than usual for our food, and when Hannah brought it, she just dropped the plates and split. To her credit, she did check in on us once during our meal. Now I don't know what kind of day Hannah was having. Maybe not so good. I don't know what kind of person she is, and I'll give her the benefit of the doubt that she is a nice woman. Hopefully she is not like how she was with us to all of her customers. I'm a 20% tipper. For her, it was 18%. I wasn't given a choice, but I would have gone down to 15%.
