Since COVID this place has turned to nothing but an awful experience. One of the first major issues was they only were sitting very few people, and the majority for the restaurant was open. The next issue was the bar was also apart of this, so where is used to be first come first serve seating, this was also apart of the reservations list. Overall it was a 45 minute wait, even though only a handful of tables were filled. There were no signs stating the bar was reservations only as well. We ended up leaving and going to another restaurant that got us in immediately, and we had no issues with service. Unfortunately for Chilis to be a wait due to not seating people, and not allowing first come first serve in the bar, we don't have any desire to continue going there. Places not doing this: The Mill, Applebee's (they also have happy hour), Finch, The Hive, and pretty much anywhere else. read more

First of all I ordered DoorDash and I did not receive my corn, so that was strike one. STRIKE 2 & 3 was finding a long ass brown hair in my food!! My wife and I went to Chili's to grab a quick meal. We haven't been here in years. The host was nice and sat us quickly. The server was very nice and attentive. The food was good, just like I remembered it. The restaurant did not appear to be very clean. Stuff just looked a little dirty and sticky. I went to the restroom to wash my hands..... and there it was!!! The restroom has not been cleaned in a long time. The urinal was broken, so I had to use a toilet stall to urinate. The toilet seat was dirty and had feces stains on it. The toilet was just a dirty mess. If I had a little kid and they had to sit on the toilet, I would have had to clean it so he or she could sit down. It was just NASTY!!! (See image) The mirror in the restroom was filthy. It had water stains and just looked dirty. I would hate to see the kitchen. I am glad the food tasted good and the staff were attentive. Of all the Chili's restaurants that I've been to, this Murrieta location is the only one where I was very disappointed with the online order that I received. Quantity wise, the bowl of chicken tortilla soup that I got was only half full ( intentionally!) Quality wise, it was salty, didn't have any chicken but a big clump of tortillas instead. Redeemed my free chips and salsa with this order and salsa I got was so watery and bland nothing sticks to the chips after you dip it. I'd like to think that Chili's practices honest business practices with their customers, particularly with online orders but this location just threw that belief out the window! It was our third time eating here. It's my wife's birthday and wanted to have some steak for dinner. We ordered our steak and after over 20 mins, a lady came to our table and informed us that they don't have any mashed potatoes. This Murrieta location has become very hit and miss, it depends on who is working and the day/time. We recently had two servers who were bad, along with two who were great. We were given a gift card from a manager in exchange for one bad incident and the card didn't work (zero balance). So lame. Luckily another location was willing to take it anyway. We'll be going to other locations from now on. Murrieta needs an overhaul. The paying customer is how the servers get paid, and how the business makes money. And nice servers get a better tip. If you end up with waitress TINA, do yourself a favor & ask to be seated with someone else. She is extremely unattentive & rude. I've been here a few times and have always been satisfied with my service until this afternoon when I brought my mom for lunch. Which is the first time I've been out to a restaurant with my mom in years. The waitress TINA was the worst waitress I have ever had. To start, she had got us our drinks and immediately wanted us to order our entrees. We did not know what we wanted to eat yet so quickly put in appetizers & I picked the first thing and then realized I would rather have more time to look so I told her to scratch the last thing we put down (all while she was taking our order at the table so it wasn't like we had her coming back and forth and changing our minds). She told us that if we wanted to take it off she would have to cancel our entire order so it didn't sit and delete itself? I thought she might not have heard me so I told her we wanted the other items we just wanted to take off the last one and have some more time to order. She said ok and walked away quickly with an attitude. When our triple dippers came out I asked the girl who brought them out if we could have our waitress come back because we were ready to order our entree and right then she walked by and the girl asked her if it was her table and she visibly rolled her eyes, sighed and said "yes" before coming over saying "are you ready now?". I put in my entree & she walked away. She not once came to ask if we needed a refill, did not remove our salad bowls or our menus so we had to eat with them on the table. She did not once ask if we were doing good or needed anything or even came back to our table on her own. I don't believe she put my entree in because we sat and finished our entire meal of appetizers in a span of 45 minutes before giving up on it coming & had to ask another lady to take it off since our waitress not once came back to our table. Our waitress came over after & asked "oh so you guys must be full!" rolling her eyes.we told her no it was just taking too long to come out and she simply said "ok" and walked away quickly. We had to call her back twice to receive to go boxes, to go drinks and lids for the sauces because she did not ask if we needed to go boxes & kept walking away quickly before we could finish talking. I usually tip very well here but in this instance I just couldn't. Once her manager had come around the tables she perked up. As we were getting up and walking away from our table to leave, she practically yelled "Have a nice day!!"Over and over three times until all the tables were looking at us all while having a smug attitude. That was the straw there and we ended up having to talk to the manager who admitted that she has had multiple instances with this waitress where people were not satisfied. Maybe she's too old and burnt out to waitress now and needs to retire, or perhaps needs to do more extensive training. I love this place & Ive loved the other waitresses I've had, however I would never recommend the waitress by the name of Tina. If you get her please just ask to sit with someone else, she will make your experience horrible, my mother did not have a good time & does not want to come back again. I don't get to see my mom often and she ruined our visit. I hope they fire her or give her more training so she doesn't ruin other family's experiences. read more

This was my first time back to Chili's since the pandemic and just like many other eating establishments, it has gone downhill. We came because they were always open a little later than every other food option. We get there at 9:30 and the manager greets us with "Hey guys, you sure you wanna eat here? We're closing in like 10 minutes." Nice. Our waitress comes and immediately says "ok we're ordering everything right now. Drinks, appetizer and food because we're closing". Apparently they started closing at 10 but the front door says 10:30. But it's still 9:35 at this point. It's like we're being rushed to get out of there. The waitress even tells us Applebees is open till midnight. Like we should go there from now on. Nice. I tried ordering a beer and she said they already had last call. Bummer. But 10 minutes later, a guy at the bar gets a fresh full beer. Cmon people. And then our friends come at 9:40 and the doors are locked! Seriously? These guys really don't want to stay after 10. When I worked in the restaurant industry, we always stayed well after closing as patrons finished their food and drinks. The Southwest egg rolls were gross. Straight microwaved from a frozen box. Terrible. The boys liked their burgers. They were out of things like root beer and chocolate cake. Garlic toast also was premade frozen and heated up. If I was the owner of this place I would be furious. Your staff is losing you money, your manager is deterring your patrons from staying, and the waitress suggesting we go elsewhere next time in a passive aggressive way. Will not be going back. I come here often with my kids/family and at times just myself. The staff is usually A++ and amazing. Today I had an 11 hour work day and it was already 8pm. I did not want to go home and make dinner, but rather wanted to stop by one of my usual favorite spots for dinner and a couple of beers. Food is always great, but, bar tender refused to serve me a second beer. I asked several times and he said eat your food first and then maybe. I was shocked and others around me felt the same and even made comments. There were two others at the bar clearly intoxicated, telling him to cut one of them off and yet he kept pouring them drinks. But me after 1 beer, a long work day, wanting to enjoy my food with a couple of beers, and he tells me to eat my food first refusing my service. WOW. Not what I expected from here. read more

We usually really like Chilis but lately our experience at this location has been less than great. Tonight we were seated only after I searched the restaurant to find anyone to help us, after waiting at the hosts stand for over 10 minutes. After being seated it was another 10 minutes before our server came to the table, but once she did our drinks and chips were delivered promptly. We ordered an appetizer and our meals (a bowl of chili, chicken crispers and a kids guesadilla) and it was over 20 minutes before our appetizer arrived. It was the wrong one, but when I questioned our server she made some excuse, saying that was the way it was served now when it clearly was just the wrong food. We decided to just eat it instead of making a fuss. Didn't finish it though. It was over an hour before our food finally was served, and it came only after I asked to see the manager, something I really hate doing. I know how difficult a servers job is but this was just ridiculous. When we first sat down the section was almost empty, by the time we got our food several other tables had been sat, served, eaten their food and left. We ate a few bites, but by that time we weren't that hungry anymore and took most of it home. The manager and server both made excuses, they were understaffed, a lot of people came in all at once, etc. Manager did comp a lot of the bill after initially arguing about it, and since we know how hard a servers job is we tipped 20% on the bill before the discounts, maybe it was just an off day for her. We usually enjoy this place in other locations, and I really hope this one gets their act together soon. read more

Our server was amazing very attentive and sweet. She deserves kudos, arrays something however, the kitchen staff, horrible. I ordered the Margarita chicken with double broccoli instead of rice and beans before my plate got to the table. I could already tell that half my broccoli with steamed, and the other half was raw so as soon as it was placed in front of me, I felt the uncooked broccoli and it was cold and noticed right away the piece of moldy broccoli. I let the food runner know this moldy broccoli is on my plate. This is disgusting and you should not be serving it to people. She took my plate brought it back. Everything was steamed however, the moldy broccoli was still there. I don't appreciate the food that was brought to my table. How dare you send that to anyone the kitchen manager Should be ashamed of themselves for even sending that out. My mom ordered a piece of cheesecake. That thing tasted older than dirt tasted like all kinds of fridge. Ate here last night after the movies (Top Gun). Unbelievable wait while seated for ANYONE to come by and even say hello. Finally, we ordered. We're served part of our order: chips and salsa, but where is the White Cheddar Cheese Dip - oh - forgot. Soup came in a bowl instead of the ordered cup. Afterwards, the waitress was very helpful and accommodating. We got sent home with all we couldn't eat, no extra pay for the bowl, a whole new bag of chips and lots of apologies. It's the quick attention to people who are seated that is important - serving them their drinks first with a welcome greeting. I wish them well on their next attempts. read more

I ordered online for pick up curbside while visiting my parents from Hawaii. I also confirmed a couple additional changes by phone before pick up. Pick up was convenient, but when I got back to my parents place and took out the order, it was missing 2 salads which were suppose to included with the lunch special. I called and spoke to a polite young lady and confirmed with her the missing items. I agreed to a refund of the salads instead of going all the way back to get them. She took down my name and number and said a manager would return my call since she couldn't confirm the amount I would be refunded. That was on 12/31/22, and it is now 1/13/23. No call. No refund. Sad, but it's not worth the effort to seek assistance. I chose to writ the review instead. Maybe this will bring it to any manager who actually reads the reviews. It isn't the refund that made me write this review. I work in the customer service industry and I believe to earn a good review, you MUST follow through with any customer, especially when it involves a mistake so trivial as missing salads AND any amount of refund. I can now understand why this location received only a 3-star rating. I will not return to this Chili's again and hope they take customer reviews seriously. They must improve their manager follow up and customer service. Oh and the burgers were okay but not worth my trouble. I believe a place deserves a second chance, but in this case I'd choose Carl's or McDonald's next time. Very disappointed.... read more

We came here for dinner on Veteran's day and the place was busy. The wait was about 30 mins to be seated and they text you when it's your turn. The service was great, attentive waitress that checked on us several times. Drinks were served promptly, and food arrived quicker than expected. This is my "home" Chili's location. It's very similar to other locations. The only differences may just be the layout of the restaurant and the decorations. This location is just OK. Over the years, I have noticed that the menu has drastically changed, but I feel like it's all Chili's locations. The food is alright, depending on what you order. To sum it up, I would say that you get quick, standard foods that are dressed up to appear fancy on the menu and is slightly overpriced for what it is. The portions are decent. I did order the nachos with chicken sometime this year and was disappointed because it was a bit burnt and they literally plated a single nacho around the plate with a dipping sauce in the middle with each nacho "dressed" rather than a plate of nacho's piled high with everything like most other places would do. The customer service is great! I have always had really good servers here. They are attentive and check on you often. They always explain the specials after seating you and are friendly. I have never had a problem with their customer service here. They do get pretty busy, especially on the weekends, but even then, they uphold their awesome customer service. Going to Chili's has a set expectation, meaning I already know what to expect. Therefore, my expectations are tempered and I'm less disappointed since I know what I'm going in for. Sometimes you just want things that they have, though. And for my family and I, it's usually their lava cakes for dessert -- the real reason we choose to come here! read more

Ok Chili's, I see you now. Chili's is one of restaurants that you forget existed until you go in one day and wonder why you don't go more often. My husband heard about the 3 for me deal for $10.99, so we decided to pop in on a Saturday. We were seated promptly and our server was great. We got the 3 for me deal which included a drink, and I must say the blackberry tea was so delish. Then we got to choose between a cup of soup, small salad, or chips and salsa. We both got the salad and for the entree I got the crispy chicken sandwich with fries and my husband got the cheeseburger with fries. Everything was really good and we were totally satisfied with our meal, service, and especially the price. The only negative would be the restrooms were really dirty so hopefully they get a handle on that. Anywho we'll be back for sure. read more
