This past Wednesday night 6/3/26 I arrived at 9:30 PM for the reverse happy hour until 10pm and was told I could not dine in even though the restaurant's posted closing time is 10:00 PM. I was only offered the option of ordering my food to go. I completely understand a kitchen stopping orders 10 to 15 minutes before closing. I've worked in multiple restaurants myself, and that's a fairly common practice. What was confusing to me is that the kitchen was apparently still open and able to prepare food, yet the dining room was already closed to customers 30 minutes before the posted closing time. What also left me confused is not knowing when customers are actually allowed to dine in. If the restaurant closes at 10:00 PM but dine in ends at 9:30 PM, that's important information for customers. Does the dining room close at 9:00 PM? 9:30 PM? 10:00 PM? The posted hours suggest one thing, but my experience suggested something else. I still think highly of this restaurant based on my many previous visits, but this experience was really frustrating. If the dining room closes before the posted closing time, I believe that should be clearly communicated so customers know what to expect.

By far the worst staff in the way they treat customers that I have experienced in a long time. They chose instead to place me on indefinite hold by placing the phone down on the counter and ignoring it. I waited for 10 min, then hung up and called back. They did not answer. I tried 15 more times. No answer. I then drove down there, knowing they were busy they might be willing to deal with me in person since not on the phone. They were rude when I walked in. The manager lied to my face and said he was unable to adjust an online order. I informed him I have worked in the industry and know better, he said he would need time and would try to get to it by 3pm. I told him I would give him the benefit of doubt and wait to see if he actually did it. The reason I am leaving the review is not based on if he actually adjusted the bill or not, it's because the entire ordeal could have been avoided all together with a civil conversation on the phone. He and his staff decided to go the other route. I will not go to this Denny's again at any point in the future. UPDATE: 3:00 pm Cooper the manager called to let me know they made the credit and it will appear in my bank account depending on my bank's rules in a certain amount of time.
