I only had the boil and it turned out to be a little salty, the flavor was yummy though and the contents of the boil were good quality and generous. It is expensive, but our waiter, Robby, makes the experience all worth it! I've read other reviews commenting on a up-beat guy and an amazingly enthusiastic waiter, I knew there was someone who'd greet us with a smile but I didn't expect how top tier his service was. He anticipated every single of our needs, he was quick on his feet but never rushed, attentive but never hovered. I ended up crying during my meal, and for someone to wait on a girl who was a mussel in her hand while she's sobbing at the table- I felt like it was completely normal to be crying at the local seafood boil. Food is a 4, Robby is the 5th star that makes this place 5 out of 5. You know you've made it when all your tables leave you laughing as he walks them out, thanking them for complimenting his service. This was my second time at this establishment. Today I came with my husband and 4 boys. When we walked in, we were quickly seated but were lead to a table the manager deemed too small for us. He instructed the host to take us to a different table and then changed it again. The table we sat at was indeed big enough but had giant rips in the seat and the jagged edges kept scratching me so bad I finally got a paper towel from by the bathroom and put it on top of the rips. The paper towel got holes in it from the jagged edges. My husband got a half dozen raw oysters which he and one of my sons enjoyed. Then we split the shellfish sampler. Three of my sons got kids meals which came with so few fries I had to order an extra side of fries. My 8 year old got his chicken and fries and asked why he had such a small portion. They usually order kids meals at other locations. The shellfish boil had great flavor but I could tell they recooked the shrimp, lobster tail and 1/2 crab as the meat was not hot. It was actually cool to cold. Some of the shrimp were improperly deveined and I had to finish the job. I also noticed that the manager seemed to check on all the tables but ours... after seating us at a table with 2 ripped seats... makes me feel we were singled out for some reason and intentially given subpar service. Our server - Noel - was very good, kind and attentive. He deserves to be recognized. The rest of the service, or lack there of, cold seafood and small portions warranted a 3/5 stars. read more

From the moment Robbie came up to our table I knew he was my new best friend. The charisma he had was absolutely magnetic and we had such amazing conversations while he was doing an amazing job serving us. Despite being a group of 6 teens, he did not look down on us and instead allowed us to talk about the audition we were celebrating. He then proceeded to joke with us and at the end brought us some amazing desserts, even remembering one of our food aversions and making sure to accommodate her. We originally went to the Angry Crab Shack just a couple of miles from our house, but the A/C was broken and it was uncomfortably hot inside. On top of that, it took our server nearly 20 minutes just to bring us water. We decided to leave and drive to the Happy Valley location, and we're so glad we did. Robbie was a complete difference. From the moment we sat down, he greeted us with a smile and asked if we were celebrating anything. When we told him it was my birthday, he made us feel welcome and taken care of the entire evening. He was friendly, attentive, and always one step ahead. Angry Crab-always a staple to eating seafood with your hands. However, I'd like to showcase the service. When our waiter took our order, he asked if we wanted lemons, salt and pepper etc to enjoy with our food. Being the seafood connoisseurs we are, we said yes to the lemons. We expected maybe 4-5 wedges. This man went in the back, cut up 6-7 lemons and brought it to us. (Pic shows 1 tray, we got 3 trays) we only needed a wedge each, with 3 of us enjoying seafood. Love seafood so I'm always down for cajun crab boil! I'm new to AZ so I didn't know Angry Crab Shack was a well-known chain in the area and was really looking forward to trying the place out! Like most seafood shacks, they're almost ALWAYS busy. Luckily, when my friend and I got there, it wasn't a full house. The overall vibe is like every other seafood shack you go to.. looks like a ship and you can write on the poles/walls with a sharpie. We ended up getting 1lb of shrimp w/ head and 1lb snow crab-- trifecta and hot! ..as well as a side of rice & sweet potato fries! ~THE VERDICT~ FOOD: The snow crab was cooked perfectly but it seemed like the shrimp was a little overcooked to the point that the shell was harder to remove. Hot is definitely hot enough (for me) but my friend actually wanted to order the hottest level-- however, since she's an introvert, she pulled away from it because she says they usually announce it on the speaker LOL SERVICE: I feel like the services could have been improved a little as they didn't seem as attentive. We sat right next to the kitchen area and our sweet potato fries sat there for a good 15 minutes before it was given to us. My friend had even joked that she was just going to stand up and grab the fries herself HAHA The fries were a little overcooked and would have loved some sort of dip (like garlic sauce.. *hint hint*) other than ketchup. It's worth eating but I always feel it's not necessarily cooked to order, or at least doesn't taste that way. I've been here a couple times before and it was really good. I always had really good service but this last time I just came I ordered a to go order when usually I ate there they forgot to place one of my items in the bag, which was no biggie since I could just drive back and get them, but once I arrive back at my house and opened up the seafood boil, while in the middle of eating it me and my friend kept noticing small hairs inside the boil I think we found around 6 to 7 hairs that were black and short straight hair, which 100% isn't me or my friends hair. It was pretty disgusting I had to stop eating or else I would've thrown up I'm pretty disappointed we for sure won't be returning. I never have ever wrote in a review of my entire life, and I felt the need to have to say something I believe bad experiences are bound to happen from time to time but it was absolutely disgusting and I hope the owner/workers see this and make improvements to ensure no hair gets mixed with food . read more

The filet was paper thin on one end almost made it to half an inch on the other, so you are buying the fried batter. Fries had a good flavor and the slaw was average. The clam chowder was delicious and came in a big bowl with a small bread roll, would recommend this. Came here for lunch with my nephew and kids. We love seafood boils. We were greeted and seated upon entering. Our server was very nice but she did look overwhelmed. There were quite a few patrons there already. I think I only saw three people running around trying to keep up with all of the customers. The service was slow but it did look like they were under staffed. So not holding that against them, not the servers fault. Now onto the food, we ordered the family feast. It was delicious. Example appertizer missing and having to be remade or missing food from the boil bag. But on this day I ordered to go online pick up. Sure its Christmas eve so I expected my order to take awhile. 47 minutes later. I go inside to grab it. Next I get to the car to check my order. Im missing an item. Not huge deal I am still here. I mean dark like chocolate cake. lol Well we cant eat this. So 48$ later. Bummer I call the next day to address it with the manager. I for one am not a big crab person, BUT this spot was pretty great. It was busy, but we were sat down pretty quickly, waitress made some great suggestions for us being there our first time. So first and foremost get you a Bacardi bucket. It's dangerously good. Has 4 or 5 different Bacardi rums in it and it goes down good, literally in a bucket. We got the family feat, had 3 different kinds of crab, 1 lobster, shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes. This easily fed 4 adults and a 2 year old. For me one of the best crab boils I've had.
