As outside continues to reopen (yayyyy), met a couple colleagues for a biz lunch. Abby the hostess was so friendly and accommodating. I was totally fine waiting for my friends but she insisted on seating me, taking my drink order (Diet Coke on the rocks ha!), and said she would bring show my friends to the table. Amy arrived to the table shortly thereafter with my Diet Coke. Friends arrived and I was still undecided. The two dine more frequently at Chili's and enjoy the 3 for $10 lunch menu. I really miss the Chili's on Eureka and Rocky Ridge, but this one also gets the job done. It's tradition with a group of my high school friends that we end a night at Chili's. We did this recently to conclude an evening of screaming ourselves hoarse and blowing out our hearing at Aftershock 2015. There are two things that stand out at this Chili's, making it a dependable choice in the Roseville area. 1. Service The waitress we had was a doll. They seem to always be on top of it here. Drinks, appetizers, and entrees were out without much delay at all, and it seemed to be reasonably busy for a Saturday night. They were out of a seasonal cocktail still listed on the menu, so the waitress gave me a recommendation that was on point with what I was originally wanting to order. It was super yummy! My friend asked for a little bit of soda to take care of his low blood sugar, so she brought him a kid's cup and didn't charge him. That kind of thing really makes me want to come back to a place. 2. Quality of Food Chains are often all over the place with food quality, I've found. You visit one location and it could be a completely different experience from another location. I went to a Chili's in San Leandro and it was cold wings and soggy fries. This location serves food that looks exactly like it does on the menu. I am extremely frustrated with the to-go staff at this location. I order delivery/pick up from here more than I'd like to admit and it seems like there is something wrong with 98% of the orders. Waited 10 mins for our waitress to take our drink orders (non-alcoholic), waited another 10 mins to get our drinks, and it took another 30+ mins to get our food. To top it off, the waitress screwed up our order and overcharged us for an extra soda and another entree. In addition, we ordered a steak as medium rare and it came out burnt. Photo included. My wife and I have been a fan of Chili's in Roseville for quite some time now..the atmosphere and the service have been fairly consistent on the upper level. But unfortunately, our trip last night was somewhat disappointing. We often choose the "3 for Me" menu because we have previously enjoyed the menu selections, but there has been a significant change in the Crispy Chicken Sandwich which has been our favorite go-to item. The preparation and ingredients were changed and not for the better at all. It used to have a flavorful dressing, a bit on the Spicy side and the deep-fried chicken filet previously had a light well-seasoned coating, and was consistently juicy and flavorful. I seem to recall lettuce and pickles in the sandwich (could be in error), but in any case, now it is dressed with mayonnaise or sandwich spread, and a couple of pickles. The chicken filet was very dry,.. and had a thick crust that my wife almost found unpalatable, and prompted her to ask the waitress why they changed it. She indicated it was to favor some other burger selection...if that is the case what it does in our case is possibly make us favor a different restaurant selection which is a shame because we have been long-time patrons and always felt comfortable there. My family was excited to stop and eat, and were glad dine-in was available during this time, as most restaurants are still trying to reopen. We were greeted well, and were seated instantly! This is where things faded fast..... as our black berry iced teas were sitting needing refills for quite some time. The Explosion Quesadilla meal was major soggy, and looked as if it had been sitting out for hours... it tasted stale, and the chicken slices on top were like rubber.
