Our server was amazing I think he is usually the bartender inside. He was pretty busy outside but was very attentive the whole time we were there. The food came out hot and quick. I'm a avid chili's fan. Have not been for some time but most my experiences have been 4 stars... today after about a year of not dinning there. I chose to dine at the Salinas CA Chili's. I was very disappointed. I ordered the three meat fajitas. I have had the dish manny times. It always came out sizzling hot and smoking! This time it was badly warm at best. Still tasty though. We came in for dinner at 9.00 because everything else was closed on a friday night. It was packed so the service was slow. We started with chips, salsa and guacamole. The chips are so thin they break every time you dip them, you need a spoon. The salsa was very mediocre. The guacamole was stringy and tasteless. Ewe. The Cajun chicken Alfredo pasta was really salty. The salad that came with my meal was small and really plain, just lettuce, dressing and a sprinkle of cheese. The skillet mashed potatoes were awful. Went to this Chilli's for the first time with the whole family this weekend. There were 8 of us in the group. I recommend calling ahead. We got there and only had to wait 2 minutes. Our server was great, I wish I remembered her name. She was quick to bring our drinks and always checked on us to make sure we were doing ok. The food was good, and enjoyed the atmosphere. We had kids from a 5 1/2 mo's old to 17 years old and they all seem to enjoy everything. What I really liked was the attitude of our server and so far the staff there. Horrible floor staff. Stood at the restaurant foyer for at least 5 mins. (Not exaggerating). And there was literally no one on the floor, working. Not even at the bar. Everyone must have been taking a cigarette break together. Finally a middle-aged man, sloppily put together came out from the back. Shirt was half tucked in, and half tucked out. Wearing sandals, feet shuffled the floor. Asked us where we'd like to be seated. We said the bar side to watch sport scores. Magically, two bartenders arrived. I excuses myself to use the filthy bathroom, and magically there was a server on the dining side of the restaurant, too. This is what gave me the assumption they all were on break together, seeing that they all came back on the floor together. After that, everything moved smoothly when it came to service. I normally don't have any issues with this location. First off, the waitress took forever on those tablets they use now. When the food came it wasn't the way we had ordered it. My friend sent hers back and they brought the same burger back with the condiments removed. We told the waitress they needed to make a brand new. Again came back with a brand new bat h of friends and the same burger. Finally I spoke to a manager who at least was very helpful and comped our dessert and some of the burgers. I know this is a chain, but why not review it? Chili's (unlike Applebee's!) offers a black bean burger patty to substitute for any of their other burgers. It is nice to be able to go to a chain and find at least one item suitable for a vegetarian diet (they also offer a pretty tasty corn soup). I have been coming to this Chili's for 10 years. Last night I decided that I will not be bringing my family there again. It was 9:00 and we were seated at a table that was too small to accommodate the 5 of us, none of the food came out the way it was ordered the first time, the fries were not seasoned, I had to cut the corn off the cob for my friend's son, my son's lettuce was old, wilted, and brown, my broccoli was grossly over cooked, my chicken tasted old and freezer burned, and our waitress never seemed to understand what I was saying in order to fix anything. To top it all off we were never approached by management. She stayed in the background sending in the waitress to handle us and finally sent her with a chocolate lava cake to try and appease us. I would expect that a table spending near $100 would receive at least an apology for the horrible food and lacking service. read more

I've been here for dinners and I've also placed orders to go for lunch on Saturdays. Every time I come here for dinner I get fast service. The staff is very friendly and they are very helpful. When it comes to the to go orders they are always nice enough to write people's names on every food item so when the food gets to my work place we can distribute everyone's lunch without opening every single thing. I have no complains about chilis. I love how every dollar is a point and you can redeem them for free items. This is defiantly a favorite place. read more

I have not been to this Chili's in a long time as I had a bad experience before. I decided to give it another shot.. bad decision. Everything started out great, got seated quickly, got our drinks and a cup of soup and our appetizer very quick. We ordered the two for $25 menu items because let's be real it's a great deal! I am very picky and I told the server this when I ordered, he said no problem. My husband got the pasta and I ordered the original crispers. His pasta came out cold, my crispers were not the original crispers but the extra crispy ones. I told our server and he sent them back. I waited roughly 20 minutes for the correct order to come back, worth the wait if you have tried the crispers before. When I got my plate the crispers were soggy and the chicken meat was very hard / tough. My fries were hot but the hot from a heat lamp not from the fryer. When I finally flagged my server down I told him my meal was terrible. He said the manager would take it off the bill. After flagging down another server after 20 minutes (we could of dined and dashed at this point because our server never came back) the manager came over with a bill for $29. She said she took off the chicken. It would of been better off leaving the bill the same with the two for $25... my bill went up? I paid the bill and left.
