"GOING THERE AGAIN" - For the last few days, my Lovely Wife has been seeing those "Big Juicy Burger" commercials on TV, and she drools and then talks about how good they look. Well, yesterday afternoon, she saw another "Big Juicy Burger" Commercial and started drooling again. Then she spoke about dinner, and it wasn't about those "Big Juicy Burgers" she's been drooling over the last couple of days. She said, "For dinner tonight, (followed by a very low voice), I can bake that meatloaf we have in the freezer ----------- (then upped her voice) ------------ or, how about going to Chili's for a Burger" (but I know she meant those 'Big Juicy Burgers'). Well, I know where this is going. She wants to go out to Chili's for those "Big Juicy Burgers" they have. Now, let's have a little fun here. I replied, "I Love Meatloaf". ----long pause here----(this is when I received that 'Look', and you know what that 'Look' is ---- "but how about heading out to Chili's for those Big Juicy Burgers you've been drooling over the last few days." (nice save) I know I chose the right place, because she started drooling again. We are going to Chili's for dinner to get those "Big Juicy Burgers". We left for Chili's a little early because, you guessed it, she began drooling again, and she looks so cute ----------- and a little scary. But, she is very happy, and I love a Happy Wife. Chili's is not far from the house, and when we arrived, only a couple of people were waiting to be seated. We were shown to our table. "Q" is our Server, and we informed her as to what we want and ordered our drinks. Diet Coke for my Wife and a Zero Coke for me. Now, I'll explain what those "Big Juicy Burgers" are on Chili's Menu. They are called "3-for-Me" and you get lots of choices. I know I have written about this before, but this is worth writing about again - drooling does that to a person. First, you choose your 'beverage', then a 'starter', with choices including Fresh Warm Chips with Salsa, a Salad, or Soup. Then your main choice; **The "Big QP Burger", Quarter Pound Seasoned Burger grilled perfectly, with 2-slices of American Cheese, diced Red Onions, Pickles, Ketchup & Mustard. Served with French Fries. **The "Big Smasher Burger", Quarter Pound Seasoned Burger grilled perfectly, with Thousand Island, American Cheese, Red Onions, Pickles & Lettuce. Served with French Fries. They also offer other choices for a couple of bucks more, like the "Old Timer Burger", Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas, and Classic Sirloin (6oz), Crispy Chicken and a few other choices, which may differ at each Chili's location. "Q", our Server, took our order. Diet Coke for my wife and a Coke Zero for me. We are going with the "Big QP Burger" for each of us; mine will come with a Salad and Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing, and my wife is getting the Chips and Salsa. Orders are in, and our drinks came out immediately. We toasted to "US", and enjoyed our Tall-Cold drinks. Soon, my Salad arrived, and it looked good. Poured a good amount of dressing on the salad and enjoyed some Fresh, Crisp, and Cold, Saladliciousness. They pack a lot of salad in this bowl, and it's all very good. My Wife's Fresh Chips and Salsa arrived, and there is enough, with leftovers, for two people, and it's a serving for 'one'. You get a lot with this "3-for-Me" deal. We both enjoyed those Chips and that Salsa is some of the best around, Thick & Tasty. Just after I finished my Salad, our "Big QP Burgers" arrived, and they are Huge for being a quarter-pounder. My patty is sticking out of two sides of the bun - that's more than a quarter-pounder. There are also two slices of cheese on this, one under and one on top of the meat patty, with lots of pickles and goodies that are just oozing out. Now I'm drooling and loving every drool. This is One Big Burger, and the first bite tells you that it's also Juicy. My Wife is drooling with every bite and loving it all. She is very happy. The French Fries are plentiful, and golden-brown with a slight crunch - and very tasty. We finished our Burgers and ate a lot of Chips and French Fries, but didn't finish them all. "Q" brought us a To-Go container along with a bag for the Chips to reheat in the Microwave, and a container for the Salsa. She also offered us To-Go Drinks (Diet Coke & Coke Zero). That's Customer Service at its finest. "Q" earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award for going 'above-n-beyond' the norm. And she loved it. Our bill was only $10.99 each for all this food, and we took some home. This is the Best Deal in Town. By the way, this Chili's was almost packed on a Monday night. When you find yourself drooling at home watching those Juicy Burger TV Commercials, just go out and get you one at Chili's - ya gonna luv whatever one you choose, or upgrade to the other choices. read more

I am afraid that we have another restaurant in San Angelo. That is on its way out. RED LOBSTER's Service dropped this low and it wasn't long before they were gone. I ordered online from CHILI'S to come pick it up and bring it home so my 87-year-old mom and I could enjoy a supper together. When I got there and went to the take home counter and asked about my order, some young lady said... "I'm sure it's over there." As she pointed to a metal rack with two or three bags hanging. No service. No kindness. Nothing to make me want to tip the next time. When I got home, the burger was mediocre at best, not what I'm used to eating when dining in. I got my mother a salad and soup because that's all she wanted. She said the soup was "OK", nothing spectacular. But the salad? Was the cheapest way you could ever make one... I ended up making her salad for her, trying to bring this one up to par. My advice to Chili's is: If you want to stay in San Angelo, your food is got a taste good and you've got a treat people like family. You failed it both of these miserably. However, the fellow at the front counter when I first came in the front door was considerably kind and courteous. You could learn from this guy! read more

The food is good and the service is normally good to excellent. However, the store smells dirty. it's an overwhelming smell of spilled food drinks and beer. Clean up your store, or you'll soon go the way of Applebees in San Angelo. which would be a shame. Mop the floors, scrub the tables & booths & disinfect the kitchen & bar. read more

Dead day on our visit. Bad weather kept most off roads and at home. Perk for us was way fast seating and orders and food prep time. Kind server, accurate order, average portions. My wife was upset the batter on the chicken strips had changed from the panko style they always had before to the typical fry batter most places always use. Very disappointed when the ticket says exactly what I ordered and that's not what I received. My husband is in the hospital which is why I did DD. I'm not able to get out and grab food. I come here once every other week or so. Contrary to many of the reviews for this location, I don't believe that I have ever had a bad experience here. I get the 3 for $10 every time I come. I always get a side salad with Citrus Lime Vinaigrette and Margarita Grilled Chicken with black beans and broccoli for the sides. I really look forward to eating here. Haven't had bad service at all, in fact, all of the servers are very attentive and friendly. Will definitely be coming back regularly! read more

We stopped coming to Chili's a few years back due to the filthy conditions in the restaurant from the front door to the back. We yelped and also reported directly to Chili's. We went back about 2 years ago and it had been cleaned up and was much better so we put it back on our list but sadly, it is going downhilll again. The front doors are filthy with hand prints. The base boards in the entire restaurant are horrible as are the floors. The bathrooms are in terrible condition with and need a deep clean and repairs. After sitting for an hour from showing up to restaurant and waiting for our food I finally just paid for drinks and left. Pretty sure right before I left our food was delivered to wrong table. After being told our food was almost out twice in 30 minutes I asked to pay and leave. I was then told that possibly the trainer forgot to put in food order. Using the Yelp app, we ordered from Chili's and the food was delivered using Grubhub attached to the Yelp app. This made ordering SO EASY (we had been through doordash and that would not deliver to us one mile away. In the hotel room, we were still discussing what we ordered when there was a knock at the door! That took maybe 10 minutes!! Food was decent. Three Dips and chips were very good. Walked in at 9:20. They don't close till 10. Nobody wants to wait on me. They took me to the back rushing me to order. Didn't even let me look at the menu. The guys already trying to get my order 15 seconds after he handed me the menu I'm sure they're happy and relieved that I walked out of the restaurant without ordering anything so that one less patron to mess with. I asked him if I could sit down, like what is going in? I know I'm placing a to go order but you don't have to make it so obvious that you don't want me here or that you want me to hurry and order so I can get out of your hair because you have cleaning up to do I know they're tired of working and ready to go home but, dang can they at least lie to me and make me feel a little welcome. Their chips and salsa are delicious. They need to bring back the White Spinach Queso dip as it was the main reason to go to Chili's. My daughter got soup and salad today and she couldn't eat half the salad as they put the bitter white lettuce on her plate. If they would use good lettuce and spinach it would be much better. First time at this chili's. I've been told to admit my biases so I should admit I adore the family friendly establishment. I have been to Chili's simply too many times to count. So where to start We walked in and we're greeted with a smile and were immediately shown to our table. Our server immediately came and got our drink orders and I was able to use my free chip coupon. She brought it out immediately and gave us refills when asked. Chips and salsa were 10/10 per usual. My Diet Coke was very good, again per usual. Now, this is where it gets tricky. I ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas 3 for 10 with the (citrus vinaigrette) salad. The salad was phenomenal. Though everything I've already mentioned is great, the quesadillas are what always bring me back. Our server kindly checked in on us very frequently but the food did take 40 minutes. Sadly, they didn't quite have as much meat as I was hoping, and were not super hot, but they were decent. Overall, I thought this was a good chili's with an unbelievable staff and great accessory food items, yet my entree was nothing to write hike about. This Chili's used to be so good!!! Service was great, food was great. Not the case anymore. Service is absolutely awful except maybe a few servers. The bartender that was working was the worst example of an employee I've seen in a while. Waited for 2 house margaritas for over 15 minutes while she stood there starting off into space, finally just cancelled them. Then the food took over 45 mins to come out which if it had of been good we wouldn't have minded. Unfortunately the steak I had wasn't edible, the chicken pasta was undercooked and tasted like the chicken had barely been defrosted and half cooked. The poor server was trying and just kept apologizing for everyone else. Terrible service.... Asked to sit at the bar was told the Open bar was Closed? I just needed a seat for 1 to grab a quick beer and watch a little football while waiting for the wife at mall. Was told it would be a 20 minute wait while I was standing there looking at empty tables. Said they were short staffed... told the young man working the front I wasn't ordering any food just needed a seat and a beer. He then instructed me the bar tender is new so I would have to wait.... Really? Opening a bottle of beer for one requires extended training??? After finally being seated and waiting to order, had to wait an another 10 minutes for my beer. That's about a 35 minute wait for a single beer for one person in 1/2 occupied restaurant! Tried to pay my tab and was told to use the "presto" device on the table... which showed a valve total of zero.... Bartender disappeared again. More waiting..... ughhh! To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised. Generally I try to avoid chain restaurants. But we enjoyed this Chili's! We ate at the bar, so avoided a wait. Our Jack Daniels and waters were better than some we've had in fancy restaurants. The soup (I think it was enchilada soup) was especially delicious.
