I've been to chilis four times this year and I always order the chicken crispers from the 2 for $20 menu. That menu never disappoints cause there's everything for everyone. My family ordered the tostada chips with salsa and guacamole and Texan cheese fries. The fries were more presentable compared to the chips. But what do people expect from chips and salsa? The chicken crispers are so crispy and filling for me and it also comes with corn and fries. The main reason why I look forward to coming to chilis is their molten lava cake. I always make room for that by the end of the meal and the cake never disappointed me so far. I just wish there was more variety than chocolate. I know they have special promotions (assuming from the yelp pictures) but they should add variety to the cake since it's a dessert not common in most restaurants. Overall, I give this place four stars because service here can be better, especially when it comes to the host doing their job. read more

The line cook's only use one ingredient, SALT! Everything was over salted. The 8oz Sirlion was over salted, the french fries over salted. Even the steamed broccoli and side order of garlic toast seemed to salty. The server was polite but nothing more. The restroom was a mess. While I was in there washing up a worker came in and they completely ignored the over flowing waste pail, the mess on the counters and the papers on the floor. I've been here a couple times and I've only had one bad experience. The food is always good, if not okay. The waiters usually try really hard and are really nice. One night, we ordered the usual bottomless strawberry lemonade. We asked for a refill, and they capped us at 2. What the eff? Bottomless does not mean two refills only. Very disappointed Took me 2 1/2 hours by the time I checked in and the time I left. Over 20 minutes inside restaurant just waiting for a glass of water. I ordered fajitas and was shocked at the tiny portions really Shockley small and never had them without sour cream and guacamole. I finally had to ask somebody for my ticket after waiting nearly another 30 minutes and no one showed up after I finished what little they gave me. I been coming to this chilis since I was a young padawan. However I haven't been here in years and boy have they stepped up their game Besides the renovations which made the restaurant look better, I really liked that they have now an electric display terminal on every table which shows you drinks, food choices, and even lets you pay at the end of your meal. On top of this the service was great and we had a very capable server. Food was on point. We had an amazing bacon steak quesadillas and also the fajitas trio which is the best in town. This is one of my main go to spots when having family time and just to eat out. I love the deals they have and the desserts are amazing and I normally don't have problems with the service but on this day particularly the service was HORRIBLE our waitress constantly checked on us and brought us more drinks, refills on appetizers and everything but would NEVER remove dishes until I asked her to. We stacked the dishes to make it obvious that we were no longer needing this dishes at the table. So when I politely asked our waitress to remove the dishes she proceeded to have an attitude for the rest of the time we were there and became less attentive to us. We had 4 adults and 2 children and having all those dishes on the table is quite a hazard because my one year old could have broken dishes since there was no room to even eat comfortably. Another problem we had was with our check. So the table behind us apparently had our kiosk thing for our table and we where getting charged for it and when asked to remove because we were not playing games she just got very upset and went to remove it off our bill. So she finally came back with our resolved check and proceeds to tell us that she hopes she gets all excellent and strong reviews or else nothing goes to her or something of that sort which I found unprofessional to let us know because it was like she wanted to in a way threaten or temp us to give her a positive review. My family and I haven't been to the San Bruno Chili's in at least 10 years and after last night won't come back again. We were seated promptly at a hastily cleaned table by the hostess. She sprayed some cleaner on the table and seats that were covered in milkshake drippings, but only half-heartedly wiped things down with a paper towel (our 1st red flag). Our server, Teresa, was friendly, but forgetful (2nd red flag). She took our drink order and said would be back to take our food order. 20 minutes later, she's taking the order of another table while we're still waiting for drinks; flagged her down to take our food order. Drinks and chips arrive while we waited . . . and waited. Two bowls of chips later and nearly 30 minutes, Teresa comes by to apologize and ask if she can take our food order again. Apparently, the order didn't "transmit" to the kitchen from her iPad. We ask how long it'll take for our food, she says "It's going to be awhile as the kitchen is behind." Really, on a Tuesday night? At this point, it's past 8pm and we're ready to go, so we pay for our drinks and head out. No point asking to talk to a manager, because we will never come back again. I went there during happy hour with a couple of friends to celebrate a birthday last year. I just stayed for one drink, chips and salsa, left and never came back. The Strawberry Margarita was just okay. The chips were free so I can't complain about it. We sat on a booth where there were rips on the chairs, did not have napkins or silverware on the table. Came here with my husband for dinner on a Wednesday night. Service was okay, not bad not great. The food however was in serious need of quality control. The celery served with my wings was bad and turning a shade of grey/white on the edges. I complained to the waitress who came back with more celery. She stated I have this celery but it looks even worse than yours. We declined. Then came our entrees. The broccoli had brown rotting spots on some of the flowers and my chicken looked like it had been boiled and then topped with tomato to make it look a little less gross. I love chili's except on Sundays. It's the same rude, unfriendly server in the bar dining area. Every Sunday we come for happy hour and enjoy the football games and are excited he puts a damper on all our moods. He makes you feel so unwelcome. Every Sunday visit I hear the tables next to us talking about him as well. I don't understand why he's always the server if he doesn't seem happy there. Tonight I heard two tables within 30 minutes ask if he was having a bad night and all he kept saying was "you have to wait." I don't think I'll be coming back for a while. So unfortunate. My family and i loves to go to this place. Today we had a very bad experience with this restaurant. Our server name Cody was the worst. He was rude and his attitude was bad. He threw the straws on the table. And when he was taking our order he didn't write on a piece of paper our order. My order was incomplete I ordered extra shrimps we never got it. He was busy watching football so by the time he got our food it was warm not hot. He never refilled our drinks. Cause he didn't write our order down my steak was well done instead of medium well. I didn't complain cause I was hungry. My wife was very frustrated with this server. If he hates his job quit!! When he got the copy of our check he was pissed cause I gave him a $3.00 tip. I came here one day with my girlfriend and her best friend who was with her man. We arrived around the end of happy hour, yet were delayed with the difficulty of finding parking within the lot on a Friday night. It sure looked busy based on the number of cars here. Went we entered we asked for a table which turned out to be a 25-30 minute wait. People were stuffed into the entrance and crammed in the bar area and it gradually was feeling like a steam room full of sweat and people sweating all over you. Kind of disgusting. We finally got our table and were attended to after a 15 minute wait. Each of us ordered from the entrees they had for two people that cost about $20. I ordered the Crispy Chicken covered in spicy BBQ sauce with a side of rice-yes, rice-since I didn't like the dish it originally came with. I also orders fries as another dish. Our food was average on quality, yet I liked the crispy chicken and the sauce did it wonders and the rice was a nice complement after all. I did notice that it was somewhat saturated in salt and was dying of thirst near the end. We had a tasty meal, but there was no arguments over the high amounts of salt present in each of our meals. If you come here, you will have a good average meal, but your MSG levels may shoot through the roof! But it is worth the try! read more

I really love the food here and most of the time our waiters have been really nice, but there is one hostess who is a pain in the neck. I walked in with my sister and she didn't give me that "welcome to Chili's" line, and just stared at me until I said "2, please" then gave me some weird look and turned to her clipboard, then handed me the buzzer. Chili's is one place I know to go where to get a great Mushroom Swiss Burger without questioning it. That's pretty much my usual over there. I don't recommend their Big Mouth Bites because they're pretty much just a burger cut into fours yet they cost more than what you would get if you ordered the same thing as a single burger. I just recently tried their Country Fried Steak dinner and it was pretty good. But since I haven't had country fried steak at other southern comfort food spots, I wouldn't be able to compare it.
