Me, the wife and the friends are in town for a wedding. We are here a day early to meet up with friends who are gathering for the big wedding on Sunday. So, after all checking in and settling into our rooms, we decided to get some dinner. How could we pass up the Chilis which was a 100 foot walk from our hotel. Perfect for having some beers and walking back to our place. We were seated in William's section and he immediately was nice, funny and you knew he was going to take good care of us. Someone ordered tortilla chips and salsa and for 8 of us, they brought out 3 large platters of warm chips and salsa bowls. The chips were great. Fresh. Thin. Crunchy. Delicious. I was a bit surprised, since I did not have high expectations for a Chilis. The chips were good, but the salsa blew me away. It was so good! I wanted to drink it! Since we were in public and with the wife, chose to overload chips with the cool, mildly spicy, delicious salsa. Only lost a couple of tablespoons on my shirt. What a waste. We gnawed on those for a couple of beers before we reviewed the menu and ordered some food. William was very attentive and he seemed to be having fun. That was great! I don't recall what everyone ordered, but the wife and I got orders of the Chicken Ranch Quesadilla that William highly recommended. More chips and more salsa by the time the food showed up. My plate was a huge quesadilla and I thought that the wife and I should have split one. It was the chips and salsa that got me!! I took 1/2 mine back to the room. Partners tortilla soup was really good. The service was wonderland attentive The Mexican bowl was excellent. We did the lunch break for ten. It was not skimpy. Just arrived in San Diego from Hollywood, and my girlfriend and I decided to walk over to Chili's--we hadn't been in years. My girlfriend wanted to go somewhere else for food and drinks, but I'm so glad we chose Chili's! From the moment we walked in, our bartender Liz greeted us with a warm and friendly smile. She recommended the $6 margarita special, and let me tell you--it was the best decision we made! We ended up ordering another round. This was my first time coming to this chilis. It was a lot smaller than what I was expecting, but it made it more intimate, which was nice. It also wasn't as loud as some other chilis are. I ordered the honey chipotle chicken crispers, which are my go to every time I visit a chilis. And they were delicious as always. My boyfriend ordered the nachos, which were different than what he expected, (there's no picture in the menu). He said they were decent though. The reason, I couldn't give 5 stars is actually because of the service unfortunately. The host didn't greet us, really. He just asked for how many and took us to a booth and that was it. Then the server didn't have any enthusiasm either. Like, I know people can have an off day. I get it. But it is the service industry, and their service just wasn't the best unfortunately. read more

Chilis is a chain that offers great value and quality food. I have eaten at many spots, and I have yet to find a better deal than Chilis 3 for Me. For under $11 you get a starter, a drink, burger or chicken and fries or vegetables. By far cheaper than any fast food combo, and healthier for you. The service here is always excellent. The staff is welcoming, and friendly. Best times to visit are weekdays as weekends get very busy. My favorite burger is the Old Timer. For a chain restaurant, Chili's isn't half bad! I've been going here more often in the past couple years and it's a good place for a value dinner. For appetizers, the awesome blossom petals are a must. The fried pickles are also pretty good. Our usual go to is the chicken crispers and Cajun shrimp pasta. The crispers are always juicy and go really well with the honey mustard. It comes with a side of fries and corn on the cob. The Cajun shrimp pasta is great and comes with garlic bread. The margaritas are good and are a really good deal during happy hour as well. Overall, Chili's surprisingly is pretty good for a chain restaurant. We have been to several other locations in the north country and have not been pleased at all. Our Server on this night was fantastic and made us feel special. Her name was Aiay ( I hope this is correct). We also spoke with the Manager Kelly who was equally fantastic. Covid review: We ordered online, we were given a 20 minute wait time. When we got to the restaurant to pick up our order was waiting for us. I simply showed my phone and the gentleman handling the curb side pick up had them up fast. Everyone there was following social distance regulations. It was our first time eating at Chili's so we didn't know what to expect. We weren't disappointed, everything was great and the portions are definitely meant to be shared. We order Cajun Chicken Pasta ( my absolute favorite, I recommend everyone to try it), Queso Burger, Triple Dipper and Classic nachos. Everything had a great flavor. Haven't been to Chili's in a long time; everything was better than we remembered. First off, the service was phenomenal. Wife and I both noticed independently and commented on it. William was our server. He was quick with everything, very friendly, checked on us often, and paid close attention (most of the time he was already bringing or offering what we were about to request). Menu: they've streamlined it a bit like most places. The "you pick 3" was a good deal - $11 for drink/appetizer/entree for $11-$15 depending on choices, some of which are cheaper than the same entree alone. I love hamburgers but I was doubtful about how quality a deal that offers a hamburger, french fries, drink, salsa & chips for $10.99 could be. Finally decided to give it a whirl. The thin crispy chips with salsa were fresh and above par. The thin chips are probably not considered authentic but I definitely enjoyed them-one of my favorite things now. Salsa is on the mild side but well done. Ordered the Smash Burger with fries which was also a much better quality than I had anticipated! The main difference between this location and others was this one had some kind of problem with their on the table credit card and QR code processing so wait staff have to run everything manually. Little else distinguished this location from others I have eaten at - except that here I wasn't asked if I would prefer a different "side" instead of fries. My party of 6 didn't have to wait (although we did come for a very early dinner at 5pm). The staff are very attentive, and immediately took our drink orders. I got Medium..and my steak came out WELL DONE. My tablemate also got the steak at Medium Rare. His steak looked so much more juicy than mine. The portions are huge, or at least they slapped a huge portion of mashed potatoes on my plate (which was yummy by the way). Loved the amount of bacon bits they sprinkled on it. no gravy, but didn't need it. I was stuffed and the server was sweet about letting our table chat. We ordered the skillet queso, triple dipper, and the bacon avocado grilled chicken sandwich we to share. Everything was decent but nothing stands out as being a highlight of the meal.
