So I don't think I'll be coming back to Chilies In Santee, two of us show up, ask to a table for two, she said maybe 15 minutes. we see that they are a bit busy, I see 3 tables, 2 booths empty, I also see 3 table waiting to be cleaned, I ask for the manager and he apologized for the wait f not very sincere, he stated that they're busy and will have a table for us shortly, meanwhile two families come in and get seated right away, not really fair but, maybe they had reservations, I think I understand bigger tables are held for bigger families (more than two people) or maybe they just need more help or better floor and table management. My wife and I like to go here on weekday nights for the happy hour. Its from 3 till close and they give you free chips and salsa. Draft beers are a $1 off and appetizers range from $2.99 to $4.99. The bartenders are really friendly and they have four televisions that usually have a local game on it. The food is not half bad and I really enjoy the buffalo ranch chicken sandwich. read more

I can't believe this place considers itself an actual "restaurant". Especially given the real restaurant options surrounding it! Olive Garden, Phil's bbq and Mimi's cafe to name a few, all much better. Every time I have come here, nobody is ever at the front to greet us. We wait 5 even 10 minutes before anyone even says a word. But this time however topped it off. We came in around 8pm on Tuesday night 1/22/19. Yet again, nobody was there to greet us. We waited about 5 minutes and finally someone brought us to a table. Although we asked for a booth and many were open. They told us it would be a few minutes more to wait. We finally get seated, and our server "Jolene" comes to our table. He orders an 805 beer and fajitas with no rice and extra beans, I order ribeye steak, cooked medium substitute mashed potatoes for a cup of chicken soup. Then the wait begins. Several minutes later, he was served his beer. It was so warm there wasn't even any condensation on the outside of glass. About 30 minutes later ( rather long considering the place was near dead) we received our " food". Fajitas came, with rice and no extra beans. My plate was placed infront of me and immediately we both New the steak was so badly prepared. It was great on color and on top of the shrimp instead of shrimp on top. Almost thought it was a joke. Cut the steak and it was great all inside. Tried to take a bite and couldn't even chew it. We grabbed the waitresses attention and she suggested I order something else because she saw swevwral plates come out with steak looking "unusual". I explained to her I need to stick with the steak because of my diet. She put in a new order. We waited ANOTHER 30 minutes.. she didn't even come up to us aside when she said the cooks shut the flat top off early??? Then explained she shouldn't have told us that. We grew so frustrated, We asked a male server to bring us a manger and even explained to him what was going on as well as for the check before he went for the manager. 10 minutes later, I am hungry and beyond angry. And surprise... no manager or check ever came! After waiting an hour and a half only to not eat or be given even halfway decent service, we decided to estimate what we owed and left $25 cash on the table and walked out. I just wanted to say I had the worse service at the Santee location, usually we always go to the Grossmont location and have no problems at all but today we took the family out to Santee and I must say the place was totally unorganized the staff was running around like chickens with they"re heads cut off and the table we sat at was not clean at all. Came here for dinner after seeing Rogue One (awesome by the way). Anyways, I ordered a burger which was very good, but nothing too amazing. However, our service was really excellent. Our waitress was attentive but without interrupting our intense Star Wars debates over how the new movie stands up to the rest. I appreciate a server that doesn't constantly talk over you or interrupt you and it made for a pleasant evening with good food and good company. read more

I couldn't remember the person on the phone with me but I remember the hostess name! It was funny because I walked right up front & had no idea where you would pick up food from. I love going to this Chili's. They are convenient to find close to work, home and play. They have a variety of foods. They make exceptional meals. They hire waitstaff that are fun, intelligent and good at what they do. And, the entire experience ends up being a wonderful one. I have yet to have a bad experience at Chili's...and concidering how often I go (roughly twice a month), that's pretty impressive! read more

This restaurant has been in Santee for a while now and I finally just got around to going there for dinner . Actually we used the pick up to go service and I have to say that it was great . We ordered ahead of time over the phone from the online menu and when was got there , it was already packaged and ready to go , super convenient way to take care of dinner when I was running late getting home . Great friendly service by the cashier , I only have them 4 stars because we ordered extra piece of garlic toast and only got one piece , outside of that it was great and the food was really good too. We will definitely repeat next time I need a quick dinner . read more

Ok place to eat. My issue is with the cooks. Do they know how to read a ticket. I asked for extra bacon and all I got was 3 slices. Charged me for extra that I never got. I received an e-mail for a free dessert so i thought we'd order out and pick it up to eat at home. 1st... I wanted to go to Phil's Bbq, but the free dessert got me! 2nd...The ordering was easy enough except there was no place to click on "Birthday Free dessert". This prompted me to call the restaurant and question the server and she told me to just come on in and show my I D to get reimbursed for the dessert to my credit card, oh and I had to be present to verify my birthday.. 3rd....When I arrived there was no parking, even in the pick-up to go spots and there was no one in the pick up area. I am disabled (Parkinson's disease) and all the parking there was also taken. This got me just a little ready to go off, When I walked in the place was packed and I requested my order, It was ready and I asked about the Birthday dessert, this is where the wheels fell.off! 4th..... I was told ,"Just one moment", I went to the restroom while she took that moment. I came back and she handed me the bagged order. I asked her if she needed me to give her my card to credit the amount of the $7.50 "Gift". Another moment was asked for when another server said I needed to eat in to receive the gift. Okay that makes sense to me but wasn't stipulated prior to ordering (Going back to the e-mail it does say "Participating locations only.) The question asked and answered, The next server yelled over about 4 servers,"Our manager said we don't offer that anymore". Could someone within Chili's corporate team explain why an Arnold Palmer is priced almost 15% higher than a soda or iced tea? The customer is receiving the same size beverage as the customer who orders soda or iced tea yet appears to be punished because the drink requires half iced tea and half lemonade. We arrived and after a short wait (5 minutes), were seated after they opened a new section for arriving customers. We had ordered the chips and salsa for an appetizer. It was okay. I had a full rack of baby back ribs. The ribs were tender and tasty with the Barbecue sauce. Fries were piping hot and the corn on the cob was deliciously seasoned. I used to love going here but the service got worse and worse but nothing tops today when I went! I called ahead and they said it would be 15-20min and asked me if I wanted to put my name in. When I got there and walked in I told them I called ahead and gave them my name, I watched them write my name down and they said about 5 min. That would be reasonable even though it had been 15 since I had called. After waiting another 20 minutes I went in to ask why I hadn't been called and they said there was still another party ahead. We ended up in the bar so we didn't have to wait any longer. What was the point of even calling ahead? Upset about the wait I figured at least we get to eat but even though we were ready to order the waiter asked us our drinks and said he would be back for the order. He dropped off our drinks a few minutes later and walked away with out taking an order. After taking two other table orders he finally made his way back. Even though the service was not great the food came quickly and was good. I love there menu. But the horrible service didn't end. Now halfway through my food my drink was empty and it took a while before he even came back to refill them. After that we were done and he came by and asked us if we were ready for the bill. We said yes and we needed a box. After about 5 minutes a waitress came by with a box and our original waiter came by twice without the bill and then went to the bar to start making drinks, After another 15 minutes and maybe serving up 8 drinks at the bar and talking to people he finally came back and said here is your bill. We told him why would you wait so long to bring us the bill. All he said was "Sorry I had to help out the bar and make drinks" and walked away!!! It should only take a minute to give us the bill. This is honestly the worst customer service I have ever received, and it sucks because this was a place I enjoyed to go! Normally when we choose this location we have a great experience. This time I am torn between two or three stars. Our server was great, but for coming in at 2:30pm service was pretty slow on getting out the food! My kids loved their meals, hubby enjoyed his Guacamole Burger. I on the other hand ordered the buffalo blue cheese salad. The description seemed completely different than what I received. It was very obviously untouched except for the chicken missing. It had spinach on it, when I can't eat spinach, it had more grated carrots than Chicken and so much Pico de Gallo that it made it very unappetizing. I'm very disappointed in this menu item. read more
