This chilis specifically deserves a higher rating. The food was made way better than usual, I really enjoyed my burger and the way it was cooked! Parking is always open and easy to get in, along with getting a table fast. Unfortunately got sat in a bad spot where we couldn't see any tv's. The appetizers and drinks came out super quick along with our food, but after that nobody came to check on us which is okay, we just gave up on the to go box and paid the tab and left. I stopped at the one on Hillsboro 1850 W. Hills Ave. In Tampa and Darrell help me and he was great because he knew I was in a hurry. I appreciate the speeding up. This location was a long time favorite as it sits closely to another business we patron, not to mention the service and food were always on point. This afternoon I ordered a 10oz steak cooked medium rare. The steak arrived and was found to be very over cooked. This alone was no big deal. The issue arose when the waiter did not check in with us again for nearly 20 minutes. By the time the waiter checked in with us, my companion was done eating. I expressed that the steak was over done and that there was no time for me to order anything else. The waiter stated that the steak would be removed from the bill and apologized profusely. The waiter then sought out the manager who approaches the table with the opening statement " I heard about the steak, but yeah, that steak was medium-rare. We cut all thorough it and yeah...it was medium-rare. Next time order rare " The waiter had already comped the over cooked steak, I am confused as why he felt it necessary to challenge the clearly over cooked steak. The only thing that should have been said was "Sorry about that" ...that's it! I reported this to corporate, who sent out a eBOG...which essentially a free dinner. read more

I'm my opinion chilis has really leveled up in the last few years. For a basic sports bar, it's not bad! The loaded baked potato soup was tasty. It was a little thick but hey! Thicker is always better! The southwestern eggs rolls were tasty. The chicken crispy crispers were just ok. Not as crispy as I would like or as advertised. I can fully understand why this Chilis has a 2 star rating. Our experience with our server was great but our food was questionable. We were in the area and I had been craving some southwestern egg rolls for the longest so I thought let's give it a shot stopped and there was no wait so we sat pretty quickly our server was super nice got all our drink order for my kids and I as we looked over the menu and once he was back we began to order, we ended up getting south western eggrolls with queso. Then ordered mains a two for 25 with Texas fries as the appetizer chicken fajitas and a 6 ounce sirloin medium rare, the kids got a grilled cheese with mandarin oranges. Food took a little long the eggrolls came out and the had a smell to them that wasn't pleasant they smelled spoiled our server came over and we told him about the situation and he agreed he wanted to replace them but we were a little cautious so we declined he was very nice about we stuck with the queso and chips until our order was out. Food finally came and the chicken fajitas were sizzling I was ready to dive in my husbands food came next everything looked great and even the kids meal. After getting my tortilla ready I noticed that the chicken had a faint color to it it was pink but not like raw pink so I asked our sevrver if this was normal he said not but I'll get a manager to come over and look at it, no one ever showed up and he apologized for it which wasn't his fault I saw him ask they just never came over, so I ended up only eating the veggies. The steak on my husbands plate was fine the broccoli was huge but not cooked fully so the bites were crunchy the kids meal was finished and lastly was time for dessert, we decided on the new York cheesecake which wasn't a favorite of mine it's very mushy not firm it's almost like it's set with gelatin. Service was AMAZING by Loid (I hope I am spelling it right) he was so interactive with our table and gave us advice on a place we were going to that night. Then my friend left her wallet there and she needed it to get into the place we were going to, I called and let them know we were on the way back to get it. Then minutes later I get a phone call and answer and it's CHILIS. They sent my friends id to the place we were going to in order to save us a trip without us even asking. Good food & good service... what I appreciate about this Chili's is that I know what to expect, and I'm rarely disappointed. While most dishes are not outstanding, their food is consistently good. We seem to get a lot of Chili's gift cards for birthdays, holidays, etc., and this location is the closest to my house. Its always clean, and never crowded on weeknights. The bar area has small booths, tables, high-tops, and of course, bar seating. TVs in every corner & all behind the bar make this a great spot to watch a game while we eat. A few weeks ago, we got loaded fries as an appetizer & really enjoyed them. Also on that visit, I had a burger, and it was just OK. So earlier this week, I decided to get the Chicken Crispers. I've always loved these with honey mustard, and this order was no exception. Hubs enjoyed his burger, but was disappointed to learn this location no longer has a mushroom burger. My daughter ordered 3 tacos... two spicy shrimp & one fish. She said they were very good. We both got corn on the cob with our meals... she loved hers, but I thought mine had way too much pepper on it. The corn had a great flavor on its own, and I would've preferred adding pepper myself, if I wanted it. My frozen margaritas were delicious, however I'm still not a fan of receiving both of my 2-for-1 drinks at the same time. Service on both of these visits was very good. We never wanted for a thing. We have had an issue with our credit card being hacked using the table payment method. We have asked in the past while dining here if they would please run the card at the register. If I could give zero stars I would. We have a service animal that is for my daughter. He is a legal service animal. They would not let us in, the host got a manager and she told us that the Board of Health is cracking down and denied a service. I told her that was illegal she went to sit us in the far end away from everyone else in a dirty booth I said this is ridiculous the booth is dirty she said go to the next one, that one also happened to be dirty. We were unwelcome and treated poorly for disability. This is illegal and I will be reporting this establishment. I would like to update the review. The managers name is Debbie. So the first weekend after the hurricane and every place I went to was extremely packed. We ended up at this location got seated extremely quickly, although there were only two servers! Bravo to the team working on a Saturday night but the hostess is what made it extraordinary. Mariela was by far the sweetest, charismatic and welcoming person I've ever experienced. Well I come to chilis almost every week and today was just horrible customer service first of all the server took half a hour to take our order and when they brought our food we ordered a white queso with chips and when we got to the bottom of the skillet it was dirty there was residue of what was left in there last time the sides were dirty. We called the manager and she said "yeah that just a spray we use" like what spray leaves chunks of food on the bottom of the plate and the sides OKAY! OMG, you have been eating at Chili's all of their life. Their fries are the die for and absolutely perfect. Their burgers, especially the old timers , is a classic, still one of the best burgers in town. The ribs were good, chili, salad, fajitas. ... In so many other items are absolutely delicious. This is one of these places that you've gone to for years then you kind of forget to do a review about it because it's just part of the family. But it's someplace that you continue to return to. The happy hours normally good I can get someone over crowded at times and somewhat boisterous but hey that's okay. My main problem is service is hit-or-miss here. Sometimes you get great service with someone that knows what they're talking about and other times you get no service and wait forever and ever to give your order and receive your order. The tablets on the tables are supposed to help this but last time I was in there I didn't see any change in service. I don't think their food is anything out of the ordinary or extraordinary, but it is definitely good. I have no complaints and will continue to frequent Chili's as the occasion arises. I think they're happy hour is really really great and I enjoyed it immensely. Sitting in the bar can get quite noisy but it depends on the day and the hour so just going to judge it by what your mood is. What's a girl to do? What happened to Chili's !!!??? I used to love Chili's up in New York. Their food was always good and consistent and their service was great too. Everything changed since I moved down to Florida. This is the second Chili's location I tried in Florida. The first one in Clearwater was really really bad. This place was not as bad as the one in Clearwater but still not good at all. The mango iced tea the waiter recommended me was so light...couldn't taste anything. The beef fajita I used to love came out with such a small portion and it was just miserable looking at it. Chili's is a corporate type chain, but the at Memorial and Hillsborough Ave has a GREAT staff. They are always very friendly. I normally always sit at the bar, since the bar serves free chips and salsa. Two for one draft beers, and house margaritas are a bonus as well. However, I'd definitely go for the Presidente Margarita which is their specialty. You can get it flavored with a variety of fruit juices such as strawberry. You can't go wrong with their Fajitas either. In fact, I'd say that's one of the things they do better than just about anyone else. It's very consistent, and very tasty. I can't say I've had a bad fajita there from Texas to Tennessee to Florida. I'd add a side of salsa to layer on my fajita if I were you, but then again, that's my taste. For lighter fare, if you want fajitas, but without the bulk, ask for a Fajita Pita. It's not on the menu anymore, but they'll still make it if you ask. Perfect for a lunch-sized portion. For dessert, I recommend the Molten Lava Cake. It's about 1200 calories of heated chocolate cake and ice cream heaven covered with a Magic Shell type chocolate. Mmm. read more

Had a chance to visit this location and had the Mushroom Swiss Burger, black bean burger served with sauteed mushrooms, Swiss cheese, mayo, shredded lettuce, tomato and pickle. First impressions are a lasting impression, and clearly the staff here thinks differently. I walked in and waited nearly 5 mins for the hostess to come to the front. Then when she got there, she looked at me as if I was in the wrong place. I said 2 please and then she looked around and asked me if I was with a guy who was walking by because he was waiting on someone. Now may just be a coinky dinky but if he walked right by me, he clearly isn't looking for me. Then I sat at the table and waited more than 7 mins (yes I counted) for a server. One walked by twice but no one ever came. Now this restaurant was not crowded and the only large group was leaving, do not sure where the hold up was. So I never ordered a drink and didn't get an opportunity to taste anything to rate it. However, as I looked over the menu I noticed it had not been wiped down. That is really unsanitary for a restaurant. Once I saw that, I opened my Yelp to see how this restaurant rated, and decided my money would be best spent someplace else. I visit here occasionally, but this is the first time that I've remember to Yelp it. I was surprised to see that they've remodeled the inside, it looks really nice. They also have these interactive tablets on the table: You can play games, you can pay your bill, you can even re-order your drinks, heck! You can even read the USA Today headlines. The menu is also sort of new with new sandwiches, new salads and what have you being added. I ordered my new favorite salad: The quesadilla salad. in essence a chicken salad with corn salsa & a 3 cheese quesadilla. It's very tasty. And by checking in with 4 square (Yes I use it too) i was able to get a free order of chips & salsa. The service was Ok. Not fast, not slow.
