Horrible I called them because I was unable to book my table on the app. I was on hold for 15 minutes. Just to have someone pick up and proceed to tell me that they don't do that anymore. Whatever every industry has gone to shit since pandemic. It has almost given all of theses places a reason/excuse to be shitty. But we continue to pander to shitty politics. Good job blue! It's taken me some time to wrap mind around how rude the hostess and server were to my special need students and I a few weeks ago during our visit for lunch. We visit the restaurant several weeks in a row to help our student get acclimated to the new setting; and each time we treated poorly. During our last visit, the dining room was pretty empty as it normally is, so we sat down at the 2 open booths (we sat there each visit). The hostess was clearly upset because we sat ourselves and told us we should wait next time. We apologized however it obvious she had shared the information with the rest of the staff, because the remainder of our visit was extremely uncomfortable. It really make me sad that people with special needs are treated as if they are less important. I will never dine in this establishment again. read more

Went to chili's the other night for some drinks and appetizers. We ordered the "classic nachos" yet these were far from classic. There were 12 tortilla chips individually sprinkled with cheese it had to be one of the strangest nacho platters we have ever ordered. The only reason I'm giving three stars is because the molten chocolate cake warmed my soul, it was delicious. read more

Updated! Not the best, but not the worst. Came here with a few friends for the $5 dollar margarita deal. First off, we thought they closed at 1am, but we were wrong.. they close at 12am on a Friday night.. that part comes after. I sat at the bar and immediately ordered my margarita. Service was great, thank you Ben!! The margarita had a very sour taste to it and it made me think I was not drinking a margarita. I watched it be poured and one shot of tequila and the mix was added to my "cup" Not much for 5 dollars but it was subpar, to say the least. I asked for salt, and like all restaurants except the authentic Mexican restaurants, it was rimmed with pretzel salt.. yuck! I really couldn't finish it, because I felt I was in a rush and the taste was not to my liking. Seeing that we got there around 11, they kicked us out at 11:52 saying we had 8 minutes. So that was weird too, knowing that restaurants would want business but it's a chain what can you expect. Overall, a generous 3 stars is the most I can give. read more

My family and I ate at Chili's last night. It was the high school graduation night, and we wanted something good that wouldn't take too long so we could go to a friend's house to celebrate their daughter's graduation. We arrived at 7:45PM, and service was prompt. The food didn't take long, and it was halfway decent. The one negative was the nachos appetizer. There were only like 10 chips with cheese and stuff on them. They tasted good, but the portion was pathetic. At 8:30PM, our waiter, who was very nice and friendly, asked if we'd like desserts, and we said we were full. We waited for our check. And waited. And waited. At 8:45 I got another waitresses' attention and told her we had been waiting for our check for 15 minutes. She told the waiter, and he took a few minutes to come out. It was now 8:50. He said that there was a mix-up, and another table had our Ziosk (the one at our table was not on) and that they had paid our bill. He thought we had already paid. I was thinking, "Wasn't that nice!". The problem was that table had ordered more food and drinks than us and their bill was higher. I wondered what that had to do with me. He said his manager was trying to figure out our bill. He apologized for the mix-up. He said he'd be right back with the bill. No lie. It was 9:00 when he finally came out after talking to the manager, gave us the bill from the other group, said the manager had cut it in half, and that we were saving $7 off of what our bill would have been. That is true! We saved $7 for waiting 30 minutes by paying half of another group's bill! We paid and left. It wasn't the waiter's fault. He apologized profusely. But the fact that we had to wait 30 MINUTES and no manager came out and apologized, was REALLY poor service! If I was the manager, I would have came out and personally apologized, and said, "The meal is on us". That would have made me a happy customer and I would have forgiven the mix-up. Instead, we had to wait 30 minutes for Chili's Ziosk screw-up, only to save $7. Because my time is worth $14/hour? I think not. We will not be back. read more

This has to be the grossest chilies I have ever been two. On two occasions I have had uncleaned or partially cleaned dishes and silverware (silverware with food still stuck to it). Okay I know this review is late but I've been busy. I'm finally getting to it though. So I went to chili's with my mom and a neighbor of ours and while my mom and our neighbor got the $10 deal they have going on I was a bit more expensive. Now keep in mind that a) I was hungry and b) when I was there it was the final night of a show I was in and the meal had to get me through the show because the party for the cast was after the show. So i got the boss burger and I recommend it if you're hungry. The burger is half a pound but f ground beef to start, then add sausage, brisket, rib meat, cheese, bbq sauce, tomato, and lettuce. That's the burger. I got no lettuce because I can't stand iceberg lettuce and I got queso cheese instead of the cheddar cheese but it was worth it. It was so good. In the 80's every one wanted their MTV. In the 90's, they wanted their "Baby Back Baby Back Baby Back Ribs." All and all they are a little overrated. What I like is that they do a offer a good variety of flavors. I like the habanero trended flavors. They do a better job saucing them, than alot of places. Off of my rib high horse. I like the new Big Mouth burger bites. A tasty lunch! Jen loves the bottomless chips and salsa. The wings are not bad either. I think the Wallingford Chili's is the best one in the area. The service is good, and food usually comes quick. If you were thinking about going to the Hamden location, it worth driving an extra few miles. read more

The food was warm, prepared well and was tasty enough to get the kids to eat. Our table was clean. The staff was friendly. The decor seemed to met the needs of corporate demand. I used to appreciate Chili's every once in a while, but it definitely seems to have declined since my last visit. I went a few weeks ago and it was not like I had remembered. There are a lot less options on the menu, and being a pescatarian I'm a bit picky. Normally there are decently priced salads or fish, but the fish was so much more expensive than it used to be. And that would be fine if you were given a good meal, but they give you basically just a tiny piece of fish and a few vegetables with no flavor. It's like they figure the fish is for people with no tastebuds or for people trying to lose weight so lets give them a measly portion and no flavor. I went with a friend who is a meat eater, and when first sitting down and looking at the menu neither of us was impressed at all and we wanted to leave, but we didn't want to be impolite so we just stuck it out. I kind of wish we had left... Everything on the menu is very similar and they consist of all of the same flavors and ingredients. Our waitress wasn't all that pleasant either. She was definitely putting on the most fake smile and barely payed any attention to us unless asking the typical question "How is everything?" But when we answered the similarly typical "Good" she didn't really acknowledge us and then left. The place was busy, but I just don't get it when people exude hatred for their jobs while at work. Everyone hates their job, but if you let your customers know by not being very nice you probably aren't going to get a good tip. Their desserts are good though. I will say that. Ahhh...Chilis...where I first met the girl of my dreams face to face after lots of time chatting on the phone and via MATCH.COM. I thought this would be a nice place to meet as they have good food and a good atmosphere. We've actually been to this particular location a few times since our initial encounter there in 2008. We love the spinach and artichoke dip, fajitas, drinks, and burgers. Yeah, its not exactly health food, but I believe salad is what food eats, so load up on carbs and fat....I mean lets be real, you dont go here daily. a few hundred miles on the treadmill and its as if you were never there at all.... As far as this specific location, outside of some long waits for a table (expected at night) and some clueless patrons (watcing some moronic parent letting his bratty rugrat run wild in the place one visit and walk across the table in his filthy shoes....gross). The bar is nice. Felt bad for the bartender when on one ocassion some mostly drunk customer kept bugging him about some sports team when he was trying to do his job. The guy must have been a regular as he seemed to be known (good or bad) by the bartender who clearly was being polite as my drink order was forgotten until I reminded him some time later. So, go ahead and grab some food here. Its worth the time. read more

What started for me as a bad experience turned out excellent! Several months ago now, I'd placed an order online to have ready for me shortly after (approx 20 minutes). I headed into the restaurant at the designated time, and they were packed for a Friday night. I ended up waiting almost 45 minutes before my dinner came out, and I was pretty annoyed. I asked to talk to the manager, and Pedro came out to talk to me. He was polite and explained that the online system doesn't adjust for how busy they are, and online orders get delayed. Because of how long I waited he ended up comping my order. I've been back at least four more times thanks to Pedro, and I'll keep going back. Excellent customer service! read more

Where to start..for one I dislike chain restaurants like these..but a good friend enjoys Chili's (used to) and it was his birthday, so here we are. Service..slow, and unfriendly. It took more then 10 minutes to get drinks, and our dinner was very delayed. Food...I already know this isn't the best quality stuff, everything is mostly frozen and processed, but Chili's used to be decent. We started with the chips and salsa-greasy but the salsa is good. Then the fried pickles..new menu item, there was MAYBE 7 or 8 pickle chips in the dish, crispy greasy bits of batter on the bottom, along with the stray French fry and chicken bits. Really?? My burger..ordered medium, it was dry and lifeless, with a stale brioche bun. Guac Turkey burger-again dry. And the guacamole? Literally a teaspoon of green mush on top. That's it, nothing else. Southwest tacos-very spicy and bland, our friend only ate one, and she loves all things tacos. Ribs were ok I guess, but our Chili's fan would eat anything. Took my wife and my son to Chili's for his birthday and will never be returning again. Unsure where to even begin. Arriving at 6:15PM, we were told they were understaffed, and there would be a 20 minute wait. We told the greeter it was my son's birthday so we could have a cake, or whatever they did there for birthdays. So we waited. A few minutes later, in walked a party of 5, minutes later a party of 8, and 20 minutes after we arrived, another party of three. Party of five was seated within 10 minutes, party of eight seated a few minutes after, then the party of three that had arrived after us, was seated BEFORE us. At this point 40 minutes had arrived, we had not been seated, but this other party of three had been seated before us. I was highly annoyed at this, and immediately told the woman who was tasked with seating arrangements: "How were they seated before us when they just got here 10 minutes ago, and I have been standing right in front of you for 40 minutes?" Her response: "Oh did I seat them before you, I didn't see you" Hard to believe considering I was right in front of the main door, right in front of her. Mysteriously after I said something a table opened. This alongside the fact, the restaurant had PLENTY of open tables. We were seated, and I was already agitated but tried to remain composure to avoid my son seeing me annoyed, and I didn't want to ruin his birthday dinner. Now comes the horrible part. Asked for three waters. I could have went to the bathroom to drink faucet water. The water served, tasted like sewage pipes. I said little to avoid getting frustrated, and did not drink the water. We had to wait a few minutes before even tasting the water since the waiter forget the straws. We ordered. Waiter brought appetizers out, no utensils, no plates, no napkins. Triple sampler combo - burgers, loaded potatoes, chicken fingers (appetizer) Chicken nachos (appetizer) Triple sampler combo: Bread from the burger was stale. Could not eat it. Chicken was undercooked, leaving me with 3 loaded potatoes at the cost of a triple sampler. Chicken nachos: Was cold. Main course: 1 Steak Fajita, 1 Chicken Fajita, and Southwest Pairing (or something similar) Steak was whatever. I was annoyed, and it could have tasted epic, but the experience so far was horrible. Waitresses bought out the skillet, plate of cheese, lettuce and tomatoes... What she forgot was the most important part of the fajita... The wraps. Chock it up to more horrible service. Waited another 5 minutes for her to return with wraps. Wife was eating, and she could not stomach her rice, beans. She passed one of her tacos (if you could call it that) to me because she didn't like it. Was supposed to be a beef taco, but tasted like corn beef hash stuck in a wrap. Teen ate his chicken said he liked. Me on the other hand, I did not like the food, the service, nor the entire experience. While eating, I anticipated some sort of pastry given we told the waitress it was the kid's birthday... Tick tock. Never arrived. I told my wife to order dessert while waiting for the kid to finish eating, so we wouldn't have to wait around long. They have these "Ziosk" appliances on the tables now where you could pay on the table, order from the table. Placed an order for a dessert... It never was processed by the Ziosk device. The waiter said he would go check it out to which I responded: "Don't bother..." Had enough of the place so I paid and we left. Grand total: $75.67. $75 for three loaded potatoes. Horrible experience, will never to back not only to this Chili's but any other one for that matter. Waiter is lucky I have a conscious about some of them making a living on tips. read more

Lightyears above the local Chili's here in NJ. I came in rushed to get home to NJ, and so we went to the To Go counter. Other than waiting a few minutes longer than the proffered 10-15 (minus one star), everything came out great. And not salty. I don't know how they pulled that off, because my last Chili's trip was a sodium festival. ~ Ribs - They had a couple of new flavors. I was hopeful that the beer sauce would be less salty than the other sauces, and than most of their items in general. I was right. The ribs were actually very meaty, plentiful, came right off the bone into my mouth, and made me want more instead of wishing I had less. ~ Sides - They're very flexible with subbing sides. I got the chili rice and skillet potatoes. The chili rice was actually dry and NOT SALTY! It had a subtle rubbed chili flavor to it. It wasn't overcooked-dry, just not moist, and honestly, I didn't mind at all. Much less greasy, salty, bland, or otherwise chain-y than I was anticipating. The skillet potatoes were something I'd wanted to try my last outing in NJ, but they had been out of. They mix oodles of cheese into the potatoes - and NOT overly SALTY! (The cheese itself has salt, so I can't ask for too much here.) ~ Salmon - My girlfriend ordered this and loved it. I can't speak for more than that. ~ Service - Yes, it took a bit long to get to us, but the staff was friendly and patient, happy to accommodate us, and made sure we left with plenty of utensils and napkins. It's hard to get me to give even 4 stars to a national chain, but at least on this visit, everything went right. First of all, I've been to several Chilis and in general it's a good experience. My boyfriend and I stopped here driving back from NYC. We were the first ones in the building when they opened (not planned, just timing). We were seated right away, but waited for our server for a while. Once she came we asked for chips & salsa and ordered our food. While we waited for our food we saw other customers come in, order, eat, and leave. We even ordered a second round of chips. I don't know if they just messed up and had to remake something or what, but our server never even came by to let us know or apologize. One of the worst experiences ever! Chili's as a restaurant is an ok place. Typical Darden Restaurant food. The reason for the 5 stars is the staff. Chuck Leiss who works as a server in the bar dining area is simply amazing. You will never see him with a pen and pad scribbling your order. Everything is off the top of his head. The other person we truly adore is the bartender Amanda. Ordered take out via the website. Said my order would be ready at 10pm. Showed up at 9:55 and the manager and a employee were outside looking at rabbits. Let the takeout window know I was there to pick up my order. The waitress was prompt in taking my payment but what came next was typical Chilis. First off my food wasn't ready by 10. The portions were slightly smaller than what I could remember they served in the school system. I had maybe 15 cold French Fries. One order of the southwestern corn split in half that was burning hot. My chicken tenders were ice cold and my chicken breast was as hot as the sun. A little quality control never hurt. Chilis has been a long time favorite of kind and my family/friends. It never disappoints, the apps are awesome (Skillet Queso has been a favorite of mine since 2000). Wait staff is always eager to serve and lively. The food is fresh and hot all the time!!! Restaurant appearance is clean and up to date. The past few times We have eaten Chili's food its been from their take out. And its been great. The food was good and hot, the order was correct, and the guy at the take out regiuster(wish I had gotten his name) was awsome. Every time Ive gone in there and had to wait for food due to the fact I got there to early to pick it up hes offered me a drink(soda, etc). Just a all around friendly guy. Every time weve eaten in its been great too. There is a waiter there that is also a Realestate Agent, hes great... fast, attentive, etc. Either way its a good place to go. read more
