What happened to Chill's menu? I went the other night and ordered the crab cakes. it used to be one of my favorite places to get them. crispy and FULL of crab meat. Not anymore. I had dinner with family on 2/22 and food and service was great. The waiter was attentive, welcoming and engaging. Two of us had the bone in pork chop and it was the best either of us had. Two visits, one dinner, one lunch, both burgers, different burgers. The short version: excellent, with glimpses of wow, and very much going to work this place into the regular rotation, but some room for improvement. Classy place with well thought out decor to balance elegant and casual. Friendly, knowledgable servers. Menu with something for everyone, including vegetarians. Not just a money grab; you can get burgers and other "handhelds" even at dinner, but you can get more ambitious fare too. Onto the breakdowns... Grass Fed Burger: tried at dinner, a nice escape from the overexposed smashburger, instead providing a full size patty with some thickness and a perfect medium rare with nice color and juices flowing. Topped with a more-than-adequate mound of local goat cheese, plus caramelized onions and balsamic on arugula. Good flavor in the beef, though all that goat cheese (mild and creamy, with a texture similar to whipped cream cheese) wrestled with it for attention. Greenery was a nice compliment. Brioche bun hugged everything nicely. The "house-made parmesan steak fries" with the grass fed burger were a pleasant surprise and even better than the description; these were very crispy wedges that ran the full texture spectrum all the way to fluffy. Large, coarse salt clung to the exteriors. Plenty of them, too. Not to take anything away from the excellent burger, but these were highlight of the meal. Patty Melt: available only on the weekday lunch menu, this combines a large "prime" patty with cheddar, caramelized onions, thousand island dressing, bacon, and buttered, griddled thick-cut sourdough. Another outstanding cooking job, coming in again at perfect medium rare and again gushing juices. Bacon on the thin side; no issue but no triumph. Similarly, the onions were tiny, pale, and not all that plentiful. Cheese and dressing picked up the slack, and the buttery bread was a superb vessel, but with the beef this well executed, nobody's going to quibble with the details. I'm just saying the sandwich as a whole is excellent but with some minor tweaks could be mind blowing. Excellent pickle chips, probably house made. Fries in a mini shopping cart basket were well cooked but obviously frozen. Again, no biggie, but after those steak fries the first time, it would have been great to get them again. Chicken Wings: Fried and tossed in a "scotch bonnet pepper sauce," these had nice crispness (better than the first glance and photos might indicate) and nice pepper jelly flavor, with only traces of scotch bonnet flavor. Very faint heat, mostly sweet. Good wings; just a lot milder than the name suggests. Gonna work my way through the menu, hitting the various burgers but also the more highbrow stuff. I came here after reading other reviews. I just to a side Caesar salad and a bowl of French onion soup. The salad was fresh and had a light dressing topped with fresh Parmesan cheese. The bowl of French onion was not served in a typical crock but in a bowl. It still had bread and cheese melted. It was very flavorful. The waiter was very nice and efficient. We met friends on a Friday night, enjoyed some cocktails, the live music, and an extensive menu with something for everyone. Both good and beverages. I opted for the steak frites, which was served with a pre-sliced flank steak that was very tender and cooked to my requested medium rare. The house steak sauce the meat was served on was surprisingly spicy, though good. The frites were not quite what I was expecting. Large crispy potato wedges rather than thin cut fries. What can I say. The staff is brilliant from the second you walk in the door. Ordered blackened salmon and they don't say on the menu it's wild salmon, but I can tell you that mine was firm and naturally deep colored, not the anemic fatty farmed ones you usually get elsewhere. (That said, if their supply changes daily or weekly to include obviously farmed salmon, I wouldn't dock them for it. It was just a bonus, and it was cooked perfectly). Went to Chill tonight for dinner because we watched Phantom Gourmet in the morning and liked the Scallop Risotto we saw, so we made a reservation for 3 at 6pm. When we arrived, they didn't have our reservation but the restaurant was not busy so we got seated right away. We ordered 2 apps, 2 entrees, our son wasn't hungry so he ate one of the apps as his dinner. Apps: Fried dumplings, it was deep fried but not pan fried, our son said it was good, it came with a Thai sweet chili sauce. 2.5 out of 5 stars. Fried cheese steak egg rolls, it came with a horse radish aioli. It was very bland, no seasoning at all, we had to sprinkle salt and pepper over multiple bites. The fried egg roll skins were crispy and had a nice crunch. 1.5 star. Entrees: Steak frites, I ordered it medium and it came out nicely with a warm pink in the middle, the steak fries were good. It was overall a decent dish. 3 out of 5 stars. Scallop Risotto, that's what attracted us to Chill, however, it was a huge disappointment, it looked nothing like the dish we saw on TV or the pictures in this review. The scallops were smaller than expected, they were over cooked, the texture were chewy and very dry. The risotto was not made very well, it was soupy and the rice was clumpy. 1 out of 5. Dessert: chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream. It was again, okay and average. I forgot our server's name but he was the only male server working that night. The service was average, the only negative feedback was that I had to ask for ketchup 3 times for my steak fries. 2.5 out of 5. We drove 40 min to chill for dinner, excited especially for the scallop risotto. overall, it was not worth the time and the drive for this experience. If we live in Marlboro, maybe we will visit again. But, not when we have to spend over an hour round trip. read more

My buddy and I had Sunday brunch at Chill Kitchen & Bar very recently. We stopped in here during an early afternoon and we were promptly seated in a booth with dividers. All staff were wearing masks. We were given laminated brunch menus. The brunch selections all sounded very appetizing. We started out with ice waters, as well as a Blood Orange Mimosa ($11) and a Bloody Mary ($11) as we decided what we wanted for food. My buddy ordered the Crab Cake Benedict ($18) served breakfast potatoes which was excellent, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce on top of two crab cakes and toasted English muffins. The fresh cut potatoes with skins were deep and crisp just right. I ordered the Fritata ($13.50) was comprised of a folded egg filled with Italian sausage, tomatoes, asparagus, topped with cheeses (cheddar, gouda, Swiss), served with crisp breakfast potatoes. I did find a small piece of egg shell towards the end. For dessert, the Molten Chocolate Lava Cake served with vanilla ice cream & whipped cream ($8.50) was very rich and went well with the 2 Double Espressos ($9). Overall, our brunch here was very enjoyable and the service was friendly and prompt. We will have to return again for dinner. read more

I was watching the Phantom Gourmet in the morning and made reservations for the same evening. I'm so glad that I did! Everything was lovely, from the happy reception to the fire place outside, the service, the food...... fantastic! I tried the Scallop Risotto, possibly the best scallop preparation anywhere. My boyfriend had the Chicken Parmigiana, excellent! For appetizers we had the Crab Cakes, which had chunks of fresh crabmeat with no fillers or grease. Amazing. The food was superior! Went on a Saturday night. We had a reservation but we got 2 seats at the bar instead. They were still having their Valentines menu. (It was the weekend following) We ordered steak crostini app to start, wine and a martini. The crostini was perfect. A lot of steak, tender, atop crostini with flavorful tomato and capers. For dinner I had surf and turf, my date had short rib with gnocchi. The filet was tender and a perfect medium. The lobster on top, was tender and plentiful. Our wings came out of the fryer still raw inside, and even though our server acted quickly, replacing these with properly cooked ones took a long time. The sweet potato hash lacked flavor and was sitting in a pool of grease, with only a light drizzle of hollandaise sauce. The Eggs Benedict had similarly scant saucing, and the thinnest slices of Canadian bacon. We went for brunch or would have sampled more of their fun and festive holiday libations.... We recently had a 90th Birthday party for my mom here and Angela and our wait staff Marissa & Mathew were outstanding!!! They accommodated all of our requests and were so easy to work with! Chill kitchen & bar was a nice find in Marlborough. Located in a strip mall parking lot, we were surprised to see the warm yet classy interior as well as a fun patio. Waitstaff was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Party of four sat on the patio and had drinks with shared appetizers. The drinks included house specialties and a red wine. Prices were average. Appetizers consisted of nachos with lobster, chicken legs, and artichoke fritters. The nachos were delicious and chicken legs nicely seasoned and spicy.
