Do they actually have a black drip style coffee?

Hi Nick! No we do not. We are a home based coffee shop, and we also have a cart for events but we specialize in espresso drinks and matcha 😊

I brought over their huge bowls of coffee and matcha which were excellent props :) Black Sesame Cappuccino (Large $9.20): I had a gift card, so I splurged on a flavored cappuccino. It was perfect!! Sesame can be a strong flavor, but I still tasted the coffee (probably because of how many espresso shots it had as a large). The interior is beautifully decorated just like their Danville location, especially the wall of plants. I also love the quiet room tucked away at the back near the bathroom, more speakeasy vibes. I wish they didn't close so early at 4:00pm!

From the moment we walked up to the counter, the attitude was cold, irritated, and downright unfriendly. Ordering felt more like an inconvenience than a customer interaction. To top it off, nobody asked whether we wanted our food for here or to go, yet everything arrived packed in to-go containers. When we opened one of the boxes, it looked like our food had lost a fight with a tumble dryer. The presentation was so rough that we genuinely laughed because we couldn't believe it was being served that way. Good coffee and food can be forgiven for an occasional mistake, but poor customer service is much harder to overlook. Hopefully this was just an off day, because a little friendliness and a lot less attitude would go a long way.

I worked from the barstools for about an hour and a half. After the breakfast rush had passed, I noticed plenty of open tables along the wall. Since I had thrown out my back this week and desperately needed more support, I moved to one of them. The sign said the table was reserved for up to two hours for customers who ordered food. Great--I had ordered food and had only been sitting there for about an hour. Nope. The same barista who took my order approached me to explain that the table was reserved for customers who ordered food. When I reminded her that I had, she asked what I ordered--as if she hadn't personally rung me up. She then told me I needed to return to the backless barstool. I challenged this because it made absolutely no sense. There were plenty of open tables, I was a paying customer and I was within the posted two-hour limit. She simply repeated that it was the policy. To be clear, the problem isn't that the policy was poorly communicated. The policy should not exist in the first place. Kicking a paying customer out of an empty chair and directing them back to a barstool is a horrible business model that lacks basic respect and hospitality. I left angry, embarrassed and regretting the money I spent here. I will absolutely not be returning.

I let the girl who greeted me know that I was picking up an order, and she brought out my bag right away. I had ordered for myself and a few friends, so the bag was pretty full. As she was handing me the order, she pulled it back and told me she wanted to double-bag the order just to make sure the bag wouldn't break. I appreciated this and it was so much easier to carry after that! We enjoyed all of the food we got: two breakfast sandwiches with tater tots, an egg salad sandwich, a chicken bacon ranch sandwich (that one was mine- delicious!), fries, and the famous English muffins. Everything was great, but I'd probably try another side instead of the fries next time just since they seemed like run-of-the-mill crinkle cut fries. We all needed a nap after we ate, but in the best possible way. The restaurant was super cute inside, so hopefully next time we can dine in!

Prologue Coffee & Tea is a small café operating inside the Walnut Creek Library in downtown (Walnut…read moreCreek has two libraries). Although the location is not prominent, pictures of their beautifully crafted drinks and delicious bánh mì sandwiches have been spreading across different social media platforms. So much so that they have been featured in reporting by several local media outlets. Out of curiosity, I decided to check this spot out with my brother and a couple friends on 08/29/2025. It wasn't busy when we walked in at around noon. A quick glance revealed a space that's tiny but well organized. We were greeted by Thuy, the friendly proprietor of the establishment. Since this was our first visit, it took us a while to figure out what we wanted. In the end, we each got a bánh mì sandwich and a beverage. Pricing was reasonable IMHO (see menu pic). I had the cold cut bánh mì and an iced coffee. I gave half of my sandwich to my brother, and he gave me half of his grilled chicken bánh mì in return. Both sandwiches were delicious! The baguette was excellent. It was crispy on the outside and soft and spongy on the inside. Thuy told me later on that she gets them from Duc Huong Sandwiches, a famed Vietnamese sandwich chain in San Jose. The homemade pâté, cold cuts, and grilled chicken were all delicious, and the produce was very fresh. The iced coffee was very good as well. We chatted with Thuy extensively before and after our meal. She told us she was a banker prior to opening this café. From our conversation, I could tell she takes pride in her work. We were all very impressed by her demeanor and business acumen. Should you find yourself in downtown Walnut Creek, do yourself a favor and give this place a try. You will not be disappointed. 5 stars. BONUS MATERIAL: - You can either park at the library lot, Civic Park, or the Broadway city garage a block away. - Contactless payment. - They have limited indoor and outdoor seating.

We ordered the strawberry matcha latte and banana milk coffee! The matcha was a beautiful green color, but unfortunately the matcha flavor was quite faint, and the strawberry syrup tasted a little artificial to me. I also found the drink to be a little too sweet despite ordering it less sweet. The banana milk coffee was better! It tasted pretty much exactly how I imagined it would, although it was also a little too sweet for me even at less sweet. I probably wouldn't get the matcha again, but I could see myself coming back for a coffee, some food, or to study. The cafe is connected to the library, so it's pretty quiet, and there is free Wi-Fi through the library along with plenty of outlets. The seating is a bit limited, but there were several vacant tables and bar spots when I dropped by. There's also plenty of parking, either in the library lot or nearby. Overall, the drinks weren't quite my favorite, but I would come back to get some work done.

I ordered a drink online. I arrived a few minutes before the order said it would be ready. There was a line but it wasn't very busy. I asked for my order and they said it was on the bar line. I watched the barista make drinks for everyone in line before me. There was only one other person of color in line (I'm brown). They straight up ignored me while I stood there waiting and watched as the barista (a whites woman) pushed my drink aside to make everyone else drink before mine. Like literally waiting until the line was gone and no more orders. (Also this has happen more than once. It's a pattern). What is the point of online order if I could have just gotten in line? And why treat me like that? Previous ownership had a different vibe. And this ain't it. It is sad cuz it's one of the few vegan spots and they have community events but I'm not supporting this business. I'm sure the community events would suck for poc based on my experience w drink orders.
