I never usually write reviews, but I was so excited to try this new bakery in Brentwood. Visited the new Tous Les Jours in Brentwood for the first time early afternoon today and the pastries and everything inside looked delectable, the ones we tried were delicious. Bakery was clean and spacious. Service from the young gentlemen at the counter was very welcoming and made me want to come back again. All was well until we ordered our drinks. The girl rushed and made our drinks before we even finished ordering and it was the worst latte I've ever had. Tasted like watered down milk. Will come back but never getting a drink from here again. read more

Tous les Jours is hands down one of the best pastry spots in Brentwood, CA. I've been coming here consistently for the past month, and everything--from the quality of the pastries to the service--has been exceptional every single time. The staff is well-trained and friendly, and the owners are incredibly welcoming, which makes the entire experience even more enjoyable. I was excited to try Tous Les Jours for the first time, but unfortunately, it just wasn't for me. I must have walked around the pastry display four times like a shark trying to find something that sounded good with my coffee. Maybe I went in with the wrong expectations, but some of the trays were empty. I think the offerings are a bit bizarre to me. I was hoping to find something like an ube pastry or a cinnamon roll with frosting. I ended up choosing the sugar twist pastry and a small hot Americano. The pastry was soft, fresh and delicious and helped earn the three stars, but the overall experience felt a little underwhelming. Since it was my first visit, I would have appreciated a little guidance or even a greeting. I did appreciate the instructions at the door when you turn right. The cashier who rang me up wasn't particularly welcoming or informative, and I had to ask where to pick up my coffee because he surely didn't tell me. The coffee itself was okay, but it seemed watered down and not very strong at all. Also, there were very limited add-in options. Half-and-half was the only choice available as far as cream goes. This place just felt a bit odd and missed the mark for me. I can see how it might appeal to people looking for something different, but it wasn't what I was hoping for when I stopped in for coffee and a pastry. The staff was okay, the young man did his job, but didn't seem to thrilled to be there at the moment. The couple items we purchased were okay, the pistachio feta pastry was very sweet. Came in to grab a birthday treat and left with a mix of hits and misses. The establishment was clean, and the staff were friendly! The small slice of Strawberry Cloud Cake was a total win-light, not overwhelmingly sweet, and filled with delicious whipped cream and fresh strawberries. The pastry I ordered was also fresh and well-made. However, the macarons were a huge disappointment, especially at $3.50 a piece. They tasted old, had a weird, oily aftertaste, and the filling didn't taste anything like the actual flavor; I couldn't even finish them after one bite. Total bill was just over $19. Yummy! Finally got to try Tous Les Jours today & I was happy with my experience. I didn't get anything crazy, just something light -- The Spinach Feta Danish & an Iced Soy Latte. First off, I ordered for pick-up via DoorDash. Pick-up was smooth & quick. The packaging was also really nice! The Spinach Feta Danish was so good ~ it was solid, but also light & fluffy, while also buttery and flakey, and slightly sweet, salty, creamy, & savory. Just all around a bunch of goodness. The Iced Soy Latte was also very good! The coffee itself was strong - woke me up, but didn't taste super strong, nor acidic. The coffee was also creamy and had full flavor. Well well well Paris Baguette has some clear competition! Though in the same price point aa PB, and offering slightly less options food, I feel the quality of the items I've tried are better here at Tous Les Jours. Customer service was notably better here as well. The manager Bruce was super nice ans helpful! Now to the cakes..let me just say the Strawberry Cloud Cake is out of this world good!!! The pastries are beautiful and not too sweet. There's a good amount of seating at this location and the customer service was stand out. Nice selection of goods to choose from. You can also have them warmed up for you. There's coffees and drinks available, but I asked for cups of water only. Grab a tray then parchment paper and a pair of tongs to begin. Some items are prepackaged as well. There's cakes near the counter and macaroons for about 4$ something. It feels small inside because the chairs and tables and fairly close together. Making it appear a bit congested. Overall the kids enjoyed their lunch and the price wasn't that bad either. Oh my, this little bakery is adorable and everywhere you turn in here there's more beautiful baked goods! Stopped in on our way to the city today and everything we tasted was delicious! I have had Tours Les Jours in Seattle, Beaverton, Columbia, Orlando, other Cali locations and other cities, this was the worst. The drinks were completely watered down with milk due to me asking for light ice. The food was fine, but the servers messed up our experience. What a waste. read more

Space is so esthetically pleasing and reminds me of Paris! Very clean and organized inside and plenty of comfy seating! We were greeted by the friendly workers restocking. I tried the jalapeño cheese bread and it was so good warmed up! Not too spicy and more cheesy which I like! I also tried the hot ube latte with oatmilk and it was so good! Sweet but not super sweet! Just enough sweetness! My sister got the iced tiramisu and it was really good! Not too sweet either like how normal tiramisu tastes! We didn't wait too long for our drinks either! Tried for the first time today and was going to study there with my sisters. Great options to try and plenty of seating. The cashier asked if we wanted our pastries warmed, and we said yes. Unfortunately, it was still cold and not warm. We also ordered 3 drinks. The drinks came out and one of our drinks came out in a small, but we thought we asked for a large. We asked one of the workers making the drinks to see if she can check what size we ordered because we did not get a receipt. We wanted to be sure we did not pay for a large. The worker was great and asking which register we paid at. Then the cashier who helped us overheard and jumped in rudely saying she helped us and told us she verified the order when we were paying. I have been there several times since my initial review and since then I have definitely found my go to drink which is the matcha latte with a shot of espresso. They have not disappointed with that drink! There are a couple staff members who I adore and love chatting with them whenever I visit. Excited to have this new bakery in the area, very similar in set up to other chain Asian bakeries (85, Paris Baguette) with some differences in offerings. Photos are from first visit which was like the 3rd day of operations. I've been to bakeries in Japan and Korea so this is no where near as good, but honestly pretty good and the coffee was good too. Egg tart better than Paris Baguette but not as good as 85°. I didn't take photos from my second visit-- the mango cream filled donut was awesome. The salt bread the first visit was great. The second visit a few days later, was not good; much darker in color, made me wonder if they over baked and chose to put out for sale and not waste product. I give them some grace for having just opened. I will certainly go again, have not tried any of the cakes or macarons. read more

The Matcha drink very chalky. It seems like it's missing the proper proportions of ingredients. This is the second time I've ordered this drink, and it tastes the same as last time. No creaminess or other flavors other than being chalky. I had to fix the drink by adding some creamer and a little bit of sugar in order to make it drinkable. I would not recommend their drinks at this time. Especially at $8 more is expected. The staff needs some time to learn how to properly make the drinks. She was on her phone and wearing a purse, clearly acting as if she was ready to leave. I was not impressed with the communication or customer service during our recent visit. We ordered savory pastries to enjoy in-house and specifically requested that they be heated. Unfortunately, the items arrived only tepid, which we discovered after taking a bite. We were then informed that, due to sanitary standards, the food could not be reheated once it had been served and partially consumed. While I understand food safety policies, what was disappointing was the lack of any effort to make the situation right -- there was no offer to replace the items or provide a refund. As a customer, I believe that where we spend our money reflects what businesses we support. Based on this experience, this establishment has lost mine. read more

So far so good! I was so proud of the employees who were doing such a great job during opening weekend. It's really wonderful to see young folks starting their career journey and giving it their level best effort! It creates such an inviting, family-friendly atmosphere that you really feel like you're welcome to come back anytime. I even personally witnessed the staff troubleshooting an issue where the terminal didn't have a specific item to ring up, so they were able to find an equivalent item (e.g. blueberry instead of raspberry danish kind of 1:1 comparison) and did a great job explaining it clearly + succinctly to the customer while also letting them know that it would be added to the system later. Basically they took something that could be an issue and made it very easy and straightforward for the customer, so that is much appreciated and they get tons of respect from me for their calm under pressure! I also really love this patisserie concept where you have a tray and you can self-service to pick out whatever items you want from the display cases. This makes it an excellent spot for people who just want to peruse or simply take their time before they make a selection. We got a variety of pastries for the house and most of them were very good. There was a nice lamination on the flaky ones and fluffy on the bready ones. I thought the price was reasonable as well. The flavor of the month refrigerated donut kind of missed the mark but I think that's just a new new bakery trying to find its legs. I look forward to trying future flavors. We also were not very impressed with the coffee since unfortunately it seemed kind of burnt/bitter and the sugar:milk:coffee ratio felt a bit off. We will try both of those things again in the future and hopefully that was just opening jitters. Overall, we think this was a really excellent addition to Brentwood, but specifically this shopping center. There's that game store, t.j Maxx, poke, and a few other things that people can walk around and browse like home goods either before or after grabbing a snack here. It really makes this spot attractive for a low-key mid-morning date or just a casual hangout with some friends. I do hope they set up some nice outdoor seating as well. Recently opened Tous Les Jours has arrived in Brentwood! This place reminds me of another local French bakery in our area so I was a little disappointed when I first walked in. I don't know what I was hoping for but I kinda let out an, "Oh..." This space is much roomier with tables and comfy chairs as well as counter top seating. It also has a little more to offer as far as their selection of baked items. Everyone behind the counter was extremely nice I just don't think they were quite ready for their grand opening. For starters, there are items I wanted heated but the oven wasn't set up yet. The pastry was still good but it would have been nice to have the option. I also ordered smoothies that were tasteless; just pretty much ice. They offer a variety of drinks and even plant based bread options. I can appreciate the vegetarian options as far as grab and go pastries as well. All in all I will come back in a couple of months and try it again because it definitely has the potential to be amazing but don't take my word for it; stop by in between shopping in the plaza or across the way at The Streets. read more
