Salted Caramel Milkshake with peanuts and strawberries. Well...they actually forgot the strawberries.

Back again ... Salted Caramel Milkshake with fresh strawberries to finish my Saturday Funday!. Correction after I got in the car, I realized that the server didn't put the strawberries in at all. I will try again next month.

The inside of the shop is a very sweet, family friendly space with lots of placing to sit. The place smelt like every dessert you could think of honestly. I tried the Coffee Toffee Crunch Milkshake, and my mom tried the Lady Bug with strawberries. Both tasted like heaven...that's all I need to say!

Super yummy treat on a hot day!! I got the butter beer and it did not disappoint! I love the milkshakes are not too thick or too thin but just right. Plus they use blue bell ice cream. Service was good. Fun place to chill and I love all the sayings in the walls.

Build your own milkshake? Sign me up! I have never been to a customizable milkshake place before and this was a real treat. Ordering was super easy, we were given a sheet of paper and checked off everything we wanted. We took the sheet to the front, paid for our order, and then waited for our shakes. There's a lot going on inside, which makes it very cool but also hard to find important details. I didn't really know how the pricing worked till I had to pay. It would be helpful to mention the prices on the order sheets to make things easier. Regardless, this was a super fun and delicious experience! I will be back next time I'm in the area :)

I haven't been to this place in over a decade and it did not disappoint and was as good as I remembered it! I did a build your own milkshake which comes with 3 scoops of ice cream you can choose from (I did vanilla, cookies and cream, cookie dough) then you choose whatever mix ins you want! I chose Nutella (a $1 premium but worth it!) and brownie bits. This place brings out the inner kid in me and I haven't been here since I was a teenager' nostalgic and delicious! They also have many set milkshakes if you don't want to build your own. The service is quick and the environment is nostalgic! They have cute artsy art on the walls!

Cute lol & pop shop owned by locals. Love how even though it's mostly high school students who work here, they are professional, clean, enthusiastic and have a passion. I've tried their grilled cheese sandwiches and it's one of the best I've had. Their milkshakes are phenomenal as well. Honestly you can not go wrong with anything here.

Vanilla malt & Birthday cake shake.

The sign out front says, "Best milk shakes in Texas!" That's a mighty bold claim!! Walking in, we were greeted promptly and asked if it was our first time visiting. It was mine, but my wife had been there before, so she knew the ropes. On the counter are pens and a menu selection ballot. You fill that out with all your selections, and hand it over. I'm pretty basic when it comes to a milkshake so I ordered a vanilla malt. The wife ordered a birthday cake shake. She tried to order a waffle as well but was told the waffle machine was down. And there in lies my only complaint. Why have the waffle menu cards and ballots (they are separate from the ones for a milkshake) out if the machine is broken? Or, why not put out a sign so you don't waste time filling out a card and getting excited about your order? Anyway, the malt was a dang good malt. Best I've had in years. My wife loved her shake as well. Whether they are the best in Texas is still up for debate.

This was a delicious find! I have to say this has got to be the friendliest staff I've seen in a very long time!! Everyone was so happy and they definitely put a smile on my face just watching them work. Now the shakes. We opted for the The Salted Caramel topped with bits of Heath candy bars and we also got the Banana Cream Pie Shake topped with vanilla wafers. These were shakes made to perfection topped with whipped cream and a cherry. It's a drive for us but we will definitely be going back.

Ask the Community - Chill...The Milkshake Bar

What's in their new butter beer shake?

One of the workers said it's Cream Soda, Butterscotch, Caramel, Bourbon Caramel, Vanilla Ice-cream, and Brown Sugar.

Was thinking of taking a friend there on a date. Is the milkshake bar a popular attraction?

It's cool. There's games there and the shakes are amazing. It's casual and fun atmosphere

Breakfast cost us about $10 less than when we go to other chain places. When you have the choice of hashbrowns or country potatoes, get the country potatoes. They're cheesy and delicious. My scrambled eggs were not overworked. I hate that. Fluffy and delicious just like the pancakes. The cooks know what they're doing and the wait staff is very nice. The only complaint that I can come up with is I'm not a big fan of added sugar to my pancakes. But I know people love their sweet stuff. We'll be back.

Updating my review!…read more My mom, husband, and I went this morning for breakfast and to start off the place wasn't as packed we found a booth pretty quick. It did take a while for anyone to attend us, I had to ask someone for menus and to take our drinks. My mom ordered the chicken fried steak and the waiter seemed a bit confused on what the menu said. My mom was confused too because on the menu it had two of the same name items with different prices. Anyway he took her order and he put in for the " country fried steak" as he called it and she also asked for the gravy on the side. My husband and I ordered waffles combo plates and my husband asked for a side of bacon. When the food arrived the gravy was on my mom's food when she asked for it on the side and she asked to get it replaced. She got it back and once she started cutting it it's was actually chicken fried chicken. She didn't want to ask to take it back so she just ate it. The good thing is she said her meal was delicious even though she didn't get exactly what she wanted. She also very much enjoyed the coffee. When it came to my mine and my husbands meal the sausage on his plate looked pale as if it was left on the grilled for one minute each side so we asked if it could be slightly more cooked and we're super grateful that the waiter took it back and brought crisper sausage linked on our plate. Now the only other disappointment from my husband's meal is that he never got his extra bacon instead he was brought extra sausage links. We didn't want to send it back either so we just kept it and he ate that. Overall all the food was amazing just wish everything was given to us the way we ordered it in the beginning. I would still go back and eat there.

TLDR: Worth a visit if you're in the area?…read more Wow! Hidden gem? Forgotten favorite? I don't know, but after tasting the food, we have to get the word out about this spot. Arriving around lunchtime on a weekday, I had the place to myself which allowed me a unique opportunity to take the place in. That being said, this spot is not overly French cafe themed, but instead a classic suburban strip mall spot with nods to the French peppered throughout the menu and decor. The booth area is well-designed, the spot was clean and the table touched by light so after a great experience chatting with the cashier I was crossing my fingers, hoping the food matched the vibe. I had a crepe Mexicana (because who has ever heard of that?!), a croque monsieur with tomato soup, and a dessert crepe because y'all know I always save room for dessert. It took a minute to be prepared, but I'm willing to wait for a fresh made meal. Everything, was delicious. Crepe texture was on point, and each crepe was stuffed to the Gods. Positive experience all around. My tip: Order the tomato soup and finish your meal with the following combo- a dessert Crepe Almonds with strawberries. Trust me on that one!

The staff is really friendly and there is usually no wait on weekdays, but they recently updated the menu with significantly higher prices. Appropriately named 'The Breakfast Place', the restaurant is serving up delicious, filling, and cheap food. We have come here quite a few times when visiting family and always go out of our way to stop by. The setting is quant and cozy and the service is downright fantastic. Every time you enter you are greeted with a big smile and beaming attitude that make you feel like you're a long lost family member or you just returned a wallet with a thousand bucks in it. The menu is pretty straightforward and standard with a few country breakfast options sprinkled in. We ordered pretty quick and got our food before we even had a chance to get hungry. We got the country fried steak with eggs, white toast and hash browns plus an order of the big stack pancakes with bacon. The pancakes are good, better than chain breakfast spots, and the bacon is good as well. The country fried steak was delicious, although a bit tough in a few spots with a delicious country gravy on top. The toast, hash browns, and eggs were also good. We've ordered a lot of other dishes from here in the past but don't have photos of them unfortunately, but they were certainly good enough to have us coming back. We ordered some coffee and in a testament to the service never made it past halfway drank, not once. Look, the food here is pretty good. We see a lot of reviews here ragging on the food and let's be very honest, if you're coming here looking to find out the reason why your 7th grade boyfriend dumped you, you're not gonna find it and you look pretty dumb for expecting to. This is a straight up mom and pop southern diner, a good one at that. The prices are cheap (or maybe we're just from Austin), the service is good, and the workers truly seem to care. For the value it offers, alongside the food and service, we highly recommend stopping by The Breakfast Place. Also, if you're complaining about egg prices (see reviews below) maybe read a book or turn on the news and see what's going on in the world.
