I had the Horseradish steak melt Sandwhich with a side of onion rings. My wife had a hamburger with sweet potatoes on the side. We both shared a pitcher of red sangria. Outcome: Sandwhich: steak was tough and flavorless, bread was stale. Onion Rings: Crispy but oily and flavorless. Hamburger: stale bread, hamburger was flavorless Sweet potato: tender and soft but very bland. Red Sangria: pink in color, taste of grapefruit juice Summary: This place was in my opinion is an over priced Applebee's. I will never visit this place again. Customer Service: Waitress was kind and very helpful in letting us know what not to order off the menu. Her face said a thousand words. Should have been our first red flag. After receiving our check we noticed that they were illegally charging us a 3.5% fee for using our debit card. We brought this to the waitress attention. She said she was aware it is illegal but nothing she can do. Manager was called over. His response was to shrug his shoulders and state he is also aware it is illegal and many people complain but nothing he can do. No where on site does it say they treat debit as credit and charge a fee. I explained I would be reporting this to nj consumer affairs. He made no efforts to make it right. Stopped in for the first time to get a breakfast burrito and some coffee and was pleasantly surprised! It's essentially an upscale diner. Prices are good value for portions. We shared the energy wrap which is light and packed with fresh ingredients. It does lack a but of flavor though but adding some tobasco elevated it. Their fresh juices are great! Also we got 2 large rolled crab stuffed breaded fillet of sole, mashed potatoes and mixed steamed vegetable all for $32. Such large portions and a tasty meal we couldn't finish. A great go to place! Restaurant Grill meets Diner. Service has gotten much better so I am putting a 5 star whereas I use to rate it a 4 star. The menu selection is great. It's overall the food is really good whether coming for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Surprisingly, the Italian pastas are really good too! Some of my favorite include but not limited to the pancakes, French toast, fresh squeezed juices, matzo ball soup, split pea soup, and my #1 the cheeseburgers and waffle fries!! They have indoor and outdoor seating which is nice. The restaurant is clean and looks really my nice inside. Desserts are really good too! We were looking for a late night meal and decided on Chiller's for delivery. It was less than 2 miles away, conveniently open late, and had a good menu selection... so why not? We ordered a chicken caesar wrap with fries and a chicken avocado caprese wrap with salad. We called our order in at 9:30pm on a Thursday and was told it would be there in 30 min. It actually came a little over an hour later... not acceptable, if you ask me. Especially since we were less than 2 miles away and only ordered wraps. The wraps were $16 each, a bit overpriced for a diner. The portions were pretty generous though. My chicken caesar wrap was average, just not what I'm used to. The caesar dressing had a very subtle flavor; they realllllly needed to add more. They added tomatoes, which I wasn't a big fan of. The croutons weren't crunchy and they didn't put parmesan cheese. I was pleased with the big chunks of grilled chicken- gotta love a place that doesn't skimp on protein. I actually enjoyed the fries more! They were so crispy. The orange juice was good and the cole slaw was okay. I ordered a club sandwich and got a construction that made no sense. Finally, after a long wait, the server came over and helped me deconstruct it. I am a long term customer, before and after the management changed hands a few years ago. The food is consistent, not fancy, but satisfying. I've ordered the onion and goat cheese flatbread many times. It's always been good. Not anymore. Someone substituted the flatbread for a pizza shell and like a pizza, fired it. It came to me burned to a crisp, top and bottom. The goat cheese was no longer spreadable. It was a cluster of little cheese pebbles. The onions were black carbon as were the spinach leaves. The pizza shell was hard as a rock. It was inedible and it ended up in my trash. I emailed the restaurant, but no one responded. Be careful when you order. read more

Ordered breakfast burrito and breakfast taco today on grubhub. I called the store 3 min later to change the order for my side. They tell me driver left already. Literally was 3 min after I put in an online order. I got the order and the food is crap...first they forgot the pica de gallo for the tacos..the breakfast burrito consisted of premade omelette wrapped in a cold tortilla. See the picture. I was wondering how they prepared food and had it on the road in 3min...very obvious it was not freshly made. Never seen food prepared in 2min, even taco bell takes longer to prepare tacos. Very disappointing. Friend orders salad and is asked if she wants salad or fries. She says salad, and is then told it doesn't come with it and would be $5. It was a Monday. A lot of eateries were closed. Chillers was open. Nice. We were hungry and needed a break from driving and Chillers Grille hit the spot! I had a surprisingly tasty and warming matzoh ball soup, followed by an equally surprisingly tasty corned beef sandwich on toasted rye. French fries were also nicely crispy with a soft interior. Very satisfying! My wife had their Greek salad and she said it was delicious, accompanied with a couple of dolmades and some of the best toasted pita she's ever had. Ordered a buy 1 get 1 cheeseburger, a great deal! Requested my burgers cooked medium, one with fries, the other with a side salad. Burgers were 6-8 ounces of lean and quality beef. Buns were fresh and held up well against the burgers. No cutting corners using plum tomatoes, each burger came with a healthy slice of beefsteak tomato and romaine lettuce. Fries were seasoned and a triangle was even cut out of the plastic lid for venting so my fries would not get soggy! Side salad was nicely presented. Pickup was smooth and staff was pleasant. Just awful! I ordered chicken parmigiana with spaghetti. The chicken was dry. The parmigiana cheese was burnt and formed a dry, tough shell on top of the over cooked chicken. The sauce was like water. The dish was poorly prepared and didn't really taste like chicken parmigiana. The accompanying salad was unremarkable. The wine I had was terrible and not drinkable. Chillers is a gamble. Been here almost a dozen times probably and live in the area. Your experience at Chillers is extremely up to chance if you'll have a pleasant well priced experience or never want to come back. Tried their benedicts, quesadillas, burgers, matzah ball soup, etc. All the food can be both good and bad, the best advice I can give is to not come on busy times (Sunday Brunch is their busiest) or delivery-app this place. The worst experiences I've had coming here is when they're busy. They're a local spot so they're pretty limited in staff when it gets busy they'll be understaffed. The food will pile up and there just weren't enough servers available and the food got cold. Think this had happened to me twice, luckily I wasn't the one eating cold eggs benedict that time but one of other party members. While I haven't tried delivery apps, haven't heard a single good Uber-Eats/Grubhub story from here. That could be mainly on the driver though, but to be safe, would just suggest picking it up yourself is possible. As someone who's worked in a hot restaurant, no delivery driver drives individual meals, it makes them no money. They'll pick up as many orders as possible within a certain vicinity that fits in the app time frame to make the most money, which I don't really blame the drivers, Uber/Grubhub/etc. increasingly take more and more fees. read more
