Someone else got shrimp with noodles, which she ate up in what seemed like seconds. Someone else got hot wings with fried rice. I got a bowl with noodles, kbbq chicken (not spicy) and I added a fried egg. The noodles are big and they pile them in with the chicken, kimchi and egg on top. I called in for a to-go order, like many other customers seem to do. I wish I would have seen the menu before ordering, since their pricing for the 30 piece wings is more expensive than ordering a 20pc and a 10pc separately. Each of those smaller orders cost less than $1 per wing, but the 30 pc costs MORE than $1 per wing. They need to fix this glitch in pricing. Other than that, by the time I arrived home, the food taste and quality was excellent. They give you all meals in styrofoam containers and my food was still hot. With 30pc, you can choose 3 flavors, so I ordered their popular ones: spicy Korean bbq, Korean bbq, and sweet lemongrass chili. The 1st flavor was the spiciest and regular Korean bbq had zero spice. They tasted more like plain wings to me with no sauce or seasoning. Maybe another snafu here. Overall, I really enjoyed the spicy Korean bbq flavor, the lemongrass flavor was just too grassy/herbal? for me, didn't really care for it. Service was excellent and I didn't have to wait long at all once I arrived at the restaurant to pick up my order. Wing size was about average. They're not tiny, but they're not pluckers size either. Small place but the food is super flavorful. The bowls come with either fried rice, steamed rice or noodles. I also got spicy on both and it was just the right amount of spice where it was enjoyable. Was surprised and very happy to see this place was open the day after the blackouts in Houston. Was my first trip here and it was very easy to find. After living off of canned foods and what groceries we had for for 4 days, my family and I were looking for a nice change of pace. The fries were fresh and crispy, they tasted like they were made when we ordered them. We also got some kimchi fries which were good as well. 2. The wings were large and crispy with good flavors. I ordered lemon pepper, lemongrass chili (they tasted really similar, but either one was very good), Houstonatlanta BBQ (which tasted like a thicker BBQ sauce), and the Honey CaJun (which had a sweet and sour taste to it). All of them were good, but I really enjoy the dry rub wings best. 3. The fried fish and shrimp were quite large and a meal unto itself. They reheated nicely later on and were great as leftovers. 4. They gave us a huge bag of condiments in the form of ranch dressing for the wings, tartar sauce, and ketchup which was welcomed! 5. The owner was there and was incredibly friendly. He showed he really had a vested interest in the restaurant and the staff were wonderful. 6. The family pack came with a huge tray of fried rice which was tasty and reheated nicely later on. This is sort of a difficult review. Chimac is supposed to be in the realm of fast food, but it is anything but fast. Expect to wait 20 minutes for your food. What would be five stars for a fast food joint would be probably less to a regular restaurant for me. So because it took long it was rated as such. Food is ok, the best part about it is the dry rub wings. So tasty, slightly over cooked. But if comparing to FF who cares, but again because of the wait we can't do that. The other big problem I have is the wastefulness. I drove up there to dine in as to not waste plastics and styrofoam but everything is plastic and styrofoam regardless if you dine in or carry out. Normally I don't rate based on that but lately it's become increasingly important that everyone does their part. These guys don't even try.
