There usually is a place where the location is somewhat too far. However you wouldn't mind coming. This place is a restaurant that does things Korean style. While it's not completely 100 traditional, you still get to fill your tummy with good Korean bbq and food. I recommend the lunch menu because you are able to get a taste of everything. However, if you are in neighborhood and came for dinner. Try menu A or B there is more variety. And service is really good. However better at lunch when it's not too busy. read more

The service here is top tier but compared to the price and offerings of other local Korean bbq restaurants, I don't know if this would be a top recommendation. As mentioned, the staff here is INCREDIBLE. They changed out the grills often, made great recommendations, brought us kimchi not on the menu as soon as we said we loved kimchi and overall it was like having your mom or grandma take care of you. But when it comes to the price and offerings, I would have to ding this place a little. They do have some tasty cuts but overall we were underwhelmed by some of their marinated meats that had little to no flavor like the Hawaiian bulgolgi. We also orders the spicy octopus and got plain octopus and were told it was a typo on the menu. The cheesy corn and steamed egg was okay but I would highly recommend the soups on the menu. read more

I have tried this place twice now and can confidently say I would recommend this Korean BBQ place to others. The meat quality is great and the soups and sides are solid. We have had AYCE Dinner B which is the one with the Premium Marinated Galbi. The Galbi is really good, but you only get one order of it. We have had AYCE lunch we're there isn't the Premium Marinated Galbi and it was good, but we missed the Galbi. It's that good. Between the soups, the dwenjang jigae (bean paste soup) is a bit better than the soon du boo. Unless you love super spicy food, I would avoid the spicy chicken. Went here a few months ago for the first time, but felt that I needed to leave a review of my experience! It was just me and my girlfriend for lunch, and we tried various items from the AYCE lunch menu. We were blown away. Everything was very, very good! The price was very fair compared to the competition, and the quality of the meats, the side dishes (soups, steamed egg, corn cheese, etc.), the banchan--everything was delicious! The service was great--very kind and attentive--and the place was very clean. We were skeptical at first because we were one of only two parties dining at the time, but I hope more people can come and try this place out. That's why I'm writing this review. I visited here during a Friday dinner and was just not impressed at all. I wanted to like this place too since it's close to home and a lot of asian businesses are starting to populate this shopping center lately. The customer service was just awful and not what you would expect. To start, when you walk in, there was no attendant or server in the lobby, so we are just standing around until a cook stops by to help us. At times, it felt like the servers were just ignoring our table as well. Once they took our drink order, and saw we were just having water, that's when it went all downhill. After 10 minutes, another server comes by taking our order. The food starts coming out a few mins later....and we start eating. We are still wondering where our water was. Servers came by with water pitchers to refill other tables, but didn't even look at our table while passing twice. Needless to say, we were halfway done with out meal before our drinks finally came to the table. Would have been nice to have water for that spicy pork bulgogi!!! The food was decent. We went with the lower-priced all you can eat option. This is fairly similar to other KBBQ places; however, I was a little shocked they provide you with just 2 different sauces to dip your meats in, with no option to make your own combination of sauces. We had to ask for Gochujang sauce as this doesn't come standard with the bbq, but I love dipping my chargrilled meat in it. After a while, all the beef options start to taste the same, only difference is the texture really. When it came time to pay, that was another chore. For what seemed like 15-20 mins, all servers disappeared and no table in the whole restaurant was receiving any service. We were finally able to track down someone as we were walking toward the front of the restaurant to pay the bill and get out of there, thankfully.....shaking our heads. The space itself is a decent size, maybe even too large for its current customer base. I'd say it was about 1/3 full on a Friday night, since 2 other sections of the restaurant were empty and not even being used. For that size restaurant, they really just had a staff shortage. If I ever come back again, I'll wait a little while until they've hired more staff. read more

In anticipation of a new Korean bbq place this one doesn't disappoint. The meats are pretty good quality, we did the lower tier of the two choices I think the higher tier had some stuff that I'd love to try, but the steep jump and budget I had wasn't in the cards that day. Service at first was a not great from the waiter himself, I got there a little late and my friends were not too confident about our waiter and told me about it. However, our server went from the guy to the younger lady and the older lady and it changed significantly, I was happy to be taken care of and they checked on us so often, which was good because lots of places do not often do so. These ladies helped the service aspect jump back up to great expectations. Ambiance I feel would be the only thing that knocked a star down. This is my third time coming here. They haven't been opened very long, but I really hope the word gets out this Korean barbecue restaurant is amazing. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu and the staff is very appreciative of your business and are very alert to drink refills and more add-ons. While the place is mostly an All-You-Can-Eat, we elected to order some items off the prepared food menu instead (we weren't hungry enough for AYCE grilled meat this evening). We ordered the seafood pancake, seafood soon dubu jjigae (tofu stew) and galbi tang (short rib soup). The seafood pancake is quite large (size of the dinner plate), packed full seafood pieces. The tofu stew was a flavor bowl full of seafood, soft tofu and egg. And the galbi tang was a delicious soup packed with tender short ribs. All of the food were delicious and definitely filled my need for comfort food. If you don't want AYCE, they do have to option to order some grilled meats (prepared in the kitchen). read more

One of the best Korean BBQ restaurants in Houston! Note: They just had a soft opening on August 16, 2024. the staff is new and they are in the process of getting down their systems and processes. They are friendly and helpful - just new. We had a wonderful experience with our family of 7 at this location. There meat was very flavorful, tender and tasted homemade. The kimchi tasted like the one mom makes - full of flavor. The high-quality of the beef, pork, chicken and seafood was very evident. The octopus and shrimp also tasted fresh and not frozen. The different variety of dipping sauces was nice however I typically focus on meat with kimchi. The egg appetizer was delicious, soft and a very nice addition to begin the meal. the kimchi stew and the jigae had a nice depth of flavor and came out very hot. The staff were extremely attentive, although note that it was the first day that they opened and about 930 at night, so there wasn't a lot of other patrons, but appreciated their attentiveness and helping us cook some of the meats and also cut some of the meats at the grill. The owner stopped by to check in on how we're doing and that was really a nice touch because he really wanted to know our feedback. he shared with us why he decided to open up the restaurant and provide high-quality Korean barbecue in the area. The atmosphere is very clean modern and the grill tops and air ventilation was top-notch. The entrance has a very large bar if that interests you. There is ample parking at this restaurant and not from the front, but also from the side I highly recommend this place and look forward to coming back again and checking in with the family. Both my sons thought this was one of the better Korean restaurants that they could recall and the greater Houston area and note that we probably eat at a different Korean restaurant at least once a month. read more

This place is better than KPOT. The banchans are all made in house and the meat is better quality than KPOT. First couple of visits, we ordered from the menu of pre-prepared items (I like that it's not only AYCE in case you're in the mood for Korean but not a ton of food). The seafood pancake, kimchi jjigae and soon dubu jjigae are delicious. This most recent visit, we finally got the AYCE premium grilled meats. The premium galbi, la galbi, ribeye, pork jowl and pork belly were all very good. If for nothing else, that premium marinated galbi makes it all worth it. So tender and flavorful. read more

Just drove over for the day to do some pool tile shopping and we always try a different Korean Bbq restaurant. Hanu just had a soft opening within a few weeks and reading the reviews guided me to this gem of absolute Korean bbq delight! Located in a nice, new shopping center, the interior and decor is new, very clean and modern. Entire staff was very welcoming with big smiles to greet you when you walked in. Kelly, Bihn and Lewis continued to check on us constantly and replenished any sides that we wanted with eagerness. Now to the food! Oh my, wow! Freshness is always my priority when it comes to Korean bbq. I'm not a big fan of what I see to be too many buffet style bbq. I prefer to have my different kimchis brought out separately and not to have my meats at the buffet line. Not to say I haven't enjoyed those at other locations, but I just enjoy the way they do it at Hanu. Every cut and style of beef and pork that came out was presented in a way that made your mouth water and wait in anticipation to get it grilling right away. All the dipping sauces are made in house and offer a distinct flavor profile that enhance everything you dip. Please get the pork jowls on the "B" side of the menu. I promise you that you won't regret it! There are two sides of the menu, one offers more of the speciality cuts. Obviously one slightly more than the other. Be ready to walk out of there full. I'm sitting here right now with 2 other individuals. Waitress was extremely rude! We actually wanted to leave immediately upon being seated and attempting to order due to the rudeness of the waitress. She said her name was Sunny. I ate a big breakfast this morning and am with my son and his wife who did not. I let the waitress know I was not wanting to order the all-u-can-eat for myself and to please point me in the direction of the smaller plates on the menu. I was told that she will ALLOW me to eat a pre-cooked entree even though my son and his wife are doing the all-u-can eat. OK thats their policy, but she was not nice about it AT ALL. I just answered "OK thank you". My son & his wife ordered. I let the waitress know I wasn't going to eat after all. When the waitress walked away we were going to cancel our order and leave due to her rudeness.. About 1 minute later....here comes the waitress returning with all the meats and she's immediately slapping them on the grill which gave us no opportunity to then leave. Maybe 2 minutes after that another waitress, a much nicer one came by and attempted to cut the chicken on the grill in half with a pair of scissors, which is fine but she picked up the scissors by the blades and then grabbed the handle. I am very mindful when handling food ESPECIALLY other people's food. She works in a restaurant but needs lessons on cleanliness. Kelly another waitress was warm, friendly & engaging. She made me try the spicy pork Bulgogi. What happened to the 'no eating other people's food' rule?
