I ordered through DoorDash and I received my order in a decent amount of time. I ordered the Kabuki, Spicy California roll, and shrimp tempura roll. I tried the Spicy California roll first and was a little disappointed. The filling was a bit too warm for my liking. It's like the crab salad was not in a cold fridge so by the time it got to me it was already slightly warm. The shrimp tempura was good. Can't really go wrong with that. No real complaints. The Kabuki was just okay. The abundance of onion crunch kind of threw me off. But I liked it. Unfortunately, I was mostly full and could not eat all of it. I did put it in the fridge but day old sushi is never good because of the rice texture. I'm not in a rush to eat from here again, but try it for yourself!!! read more

Ordered catering for 4. Paid a little short of $100 for a platter and WOW IT WAS BAD. I try to stay away from negative reviews, but this one was so so bad, especially for how much money we paid, that I need to post this review so the owners can read, and step up. They either prepared this platter for someone who ordered earlier in the day & never picked up.... Or something because sushi, sashimi, and rolls were all stone cold. To a point where rice felt like rocks, and it was brittle / falling off as we pick one up to eat. I'm sure that the platter was in the fridge for at least half a day. Not exaggerating, I thought their quality was a tad bit better than on-campus / 7Eleven sushi we used to eat back during college days. I absolutely did NOT expect this when I paid good money for catering!!! What was so surprising was that the pictures on yelp looked great! The platter looked fine when we picked it up! We couldn't tell until we had a bite :'( We usually cater from Sushi Farm @HMart, but decided to try something else because Moolkogi was about ~$10-15 cheaper. Oh man, a HUGE MISTAKE. Located in Catonsville, this little sushi shop within H Mart (6600 Baltimore National Pike,) has the freshest, most delicate, best tasting and most excellently prepared dishes I have ever had in Maryland! It's made fresh (downside is it does take a little bit, so this is a good time to go grocery shopping). Rolls are obviously not always the highest quality in terms of rice (consistency, rolling, etc.), but boy is this fresh and a great deal. The scallop roll here is hands down my favorite one. Formerly Rainbow Sushi, Moolkogi is a takeout only counter located in the back of the new(er) Lotte Supermarket off rt 40. They offer an impressive variety of sushi, including nigiri, sashimi and a laundry list of specialty maki. Pricing is also very reasonable, with typical roll prices ranging from $4-8. They also offer large format catering trays, with piece counts ranging from 30 to 80 for the largest of sushi eater gatherings. On our most recent visit, we had ordered their largest maki/sashimi/nigiri tray, the Large boat for a Holiday get together. We called the order in a few days before our desired pickup date. Unfortunately, the day of pickup our order had been overlooked and was not ready for our 3pm pickup time. Moolkogi realized their error and dropped everything to get our tray made on the spot. To my surprise, the order was ready in a little under 10 minutes! Mistakes happen, but what a restaurant does to remedy a situation is what can make them shine. On top of the quick turnaround, Moolkogi included a free order of octopus salad for our trouble. The sushi quality itself was excellent. Each piece was generous in size and fish. The rice on both the maki and nigiri was perfectly steamed and held their form. The presentation was also top tier, with each piece beautifully printed on each platter. I came here and got the sashimi, roll, and nigiri combo platter for $60 for my GF bday. It was delicious. The sashimi was cut up very thick and it definitely didn't look like they were going to to be cheap on it by holding back on the ingredients. If you want a sushi platter though, you would have to call in advance. One of the staff member said they can prepare it for you the same day if it is the weekday, but ideally within 24 hours if it is the weekend. They are located into the Lotte Supermarket in Cantonsville. It is basically a small sushi stand inside the grocery store by the fish market. Their prices are very reasonable they don't cut back on their quality or quantity. If you want very affordable sushi with good quality, I would highly recommend this place.
