I shopped around and got estimates from four companies for a ducted heat pump heat/AC system. I went with them for their skill at answering my questions, their ability to submit for a particular rebate I qualified for, and their cost. The crew was very considerate (they saved the old growth original wood floor cut-outs for me). Nir was up to date with equipment quality standards and ended up opting for a more expensive heat pump with higher reliability at no extra cost to me. The crew even installed additional lighting in my basement to help them (and now me) see better! I hired breathable to change all duct system for my single home in cupertino CA. Breathable was cyrstal clear and prompt in communication. They set up correct expectations in trems of cost estimates and timeline before hand. There was heat wave in my area on Thursday so I requested them to try to finish all duct system installation in same day if possible. They were nice to accomodate that, came in really early ~ 8am and worked through to make sure we would have AC working at the end of day. This saved my family of 4 with two small kids from heat wave. First I ordered only the cleaning but they found the undersized return duct, a lot of leaking, and rat-bite holes due to the long-term no maintenance. Then they offered the repair and I cannot believe they did all the work within one day! Just the day after my order! I decided it was time to clean my vents for the first time ever and I'm glad I did, looking at these before and after pictures Breathable sent me. I had never heard of an upgraded internal air filtration system before, but I was intrigued because of the recent bad air quality. I had a LOT of questions, and Nir was very patient and explained everything to me. He had thoughtful recommendations for my personal situation. The cleaning took 3 people almost 4 hours. Juan gave me a 30 minute heads up call when he was on his way. He and his crew were polite and diligent. They very carefully covered EVERYTHING with plastic without any prompting, which I was very grateful for because my attic entry is in my closet with all my clothes. They cleaned up after themselves and vacuumed as well. The new duct installation took 2 people about 3 hours the next day. Services performed: tier B vent cleaning and a air leakage and testing. I decided to go with Breathable after receiving it just a quote but an education about my furnace and vents. After which I felt confident in giving them my business. They had a bit of trouble scheduling me but they were kind and apologetic and had respect for my time. I had explained to the scheduler that our house was a shoe free environment, and they told me that I would be accommodated. When the technicians arrived they announced themselves and asked for me to show them each of the vents, and then the team came inside, and started laying down plastic sheeting of the floors where they were going to walk. Additionally, they laid plastic sheeting over anything that might get a little excess dust from cleaning the vents. Honestly, I didn't see any dust come out of those vents because they were so careful with how they collected it. They took apart my furnace, which was another job I did not expect and they cleaned one of the components with what seemed to be a toothbrush, and they put it back together. they sealed off all my vents to do a pressure test and they gave me back extra air I had been missing from air leakage through the ducts. They have tools to quantify the results which I will show in the images. I was impressed with the kindness, the efficiency and the detail in which Noe or Nguyen (I can't recall the spelling exactly) and his technicians worked. It took about four hours, but with the amount of work they did, and the cleaning, it was well worth the time and the money. I'd use them again. read more

I am a return customer. It took me 7+ years to get my vents cleaned again (shame on me)! But when my allergies were SO bad that breathing became an issue, I knew I couldn't put it off any longer. And I knew who I was going to call first...Breathable. I went for the Type-X system reset ($$$), which included thorough cleaning of the ducts, as well as replacing my filtration system with a new one. Nir was speedy in his communication with me and patiently answered all of my questions. I was told the crew would come between 8-10am, and to expect a call. My phone rang at 7:50am saying they were 10 minutes away. Perfect! The crew, Juan, Noe and Carlos all had their protective gear on and kept safe distancing. They first placed plastic sheeting all over the floor where they would be walking and pulling the machine. Then 2 men went from vent to vent doing a thorough (I mean THOROUGH! See pic!) vacuum on each vent, while another worked tirelessly on the mess that was my filtration system. He went above and beyond, and communicated with me the entire time about what he was doing. The crew worked non-stop for more than 4 hours! In the end, the house was tidied up, and I was shown my new filtration system and how to replace my new filter (easy, just pull the drawer!). I had this done 11 days ago, and already my allergies have all but disappeared! The air blowing through the vents is so strong and doesn't have a dusty smell. It has no smell, as it should!
