The technician, Reuben, was very professional, quick and competent. He did arrive later than the scheduled time, maybe almost 2 hours later, but I was expecting it to take him a couple of hours and it only took maybe 30 minutes at the most, so I think the total time out of my schedule was worth it. I had gotten over zealous in cleaning and vacuumed out the sand and vermiculite used to improve the performance of gas fireplaces. He replaced these substances, rearranged the fake logs for maximum efficiency and sealed around the gas pipe feed to the logs for increased safety. I had not read the instructions to keep dogs and children out of the work area, and my dog walked around in the carbon black and made a mess even though Reuben had put down a drop cloth. I then made a bigger mess by insisting on cleaning up in an ineffective manner. Reuben was patient and kind about this and cleaned up the mess with me helping some in the end. He is a very clean person. I know he did a good job, so I will not have to have this done in many many years, but this is the sort of company, and technician I would very much love to hire in the future. read more

Before arriving the technician asked me what specific protective gear did I require, which I really appreciated. The technician showed up on time and was prepared with his protective gear already on. He explained what the process entailed, he covered my carpet to avoid any potential ash or damage during the sweep. He suggested I remove the gas line option (which he did) since I never use it.
