12/202025 found this Chinese restaurant on yelp In El Cajon California jut off the I 8 and hwy 67. Pn Broadway headed east. First off the staff was professional and polite. Nice decore and restaurant was clean . And there open from noon tell 9 pm. I Stopped in to get some beef low main noodles . They were very good . I usually get house low main. But I wanted to try the beef. Very good worth getting and highly Called the order in and it took 20 minutes witch was fine because I was in spring valley . Head back to Julian so I was able to stop on the way. I wll be back and I do recommend this restaurant. 5 stars for food staff and restaurant.

Awesome hole in the wall Chinese spot. This restaurant reminds me of all the chinese food i ate during my childhood. It had all the great classics but made them better. My favorites were the sweet and sour fish, the chicken wings which were huge and so crispy but juicy inside, and the honey walnut shrimp which were ginormous and hand peeled! Ate so much, but still felt great, as they most likely use less msg, which is better for my body!

China 1968 -- 4 stars Rolled in midday after a morning surf and found a reliably solid neighborhood spot. We shared the sweet-and-sour chicken and sweet-and-sour pork -- both balanced acidity and sweetness well, with a crisp batter that held up instead of going soggy. Took the lunchtime special (just over $20) -- excellent value for a generous plate; left genuinely full and satisfied. Service was attentive and efficient without being fussy. Not a flashy destination, but smart, honest cooking that earns a regular on my list of places to haunt around San Diego. -- Captain 619

Our go to is always Panda or Chins but we saw this place nearby and decided to try it and it did not disappoint. Food tasted so fresh, wings were super crispy, and orange chicken had more than enough sauce. Rice and Lo Mei had great taste, especially the rice with all the different proteins they add. Service was good and prices were fair. The portions are big, definitely shareable. May look like a hole in the wall from the outside but it's worth the stop.

I ordered a soup but it came with a cockroach in it. Totally unacceptable if my wife or I get sick, we'll take legal action.

This review is based on the epic service we had on Christmas Day with a large group for lunch at China 1968. This is a very casual restaurant with delicious dishes and the ability to handle a crazy group of 13 people on a holiday. The service was truly seamless. We ordered a ton of food and it just kept coming as we passed dishes. Somehow our servers always managed to find a spot for each plate. I am very thankful for the staff who worked on Christmas to provide our group with a fun and delicious meal. My favorite dishes were the Hot and Sour soup, Mongolian beef, Egg Foo Young, Sweet and Sour pork, and Lo Mein. The egg rolls are big and stuffed with vegetables and you'll say you're only eating half but you won't be able to control yourself. Ok maybe that was me. They're so good!

10/10 The best cream cheese wontons in the world.

Their server Gordon was amazing and super handsome. I feel everyone should go here and order their 100/10 cream cheese wontons!

Best Chinese I have found in San Diego. Good sized egg rolls. Not greasy. We got the kung poa chicken, crispy beef, and lo mein noodles.

To my surprise, I actually had a pretty good meal here. Right when we walked in, we were greeted by such a happy and friendly host. Honestly, that already surprised me because service at these types of buffets can sometimes be pretty stand-offish. Not here. She even asked if the table she picked was suitable for us before seating us. Our server was SO sweet. She interacted with almost every table in such a friendly way. Usually at a buffet, someone clears your plates and that's about it. She was actually attentive throughout our meal. Our drinks were never empty either. The selection is smaller compared to other buffets I've been to, but they still have all your typical options like wings, orange chicken, chow mein plus plenty of other dishes. There's also a sushi and salad bar. For dessert, they have an ice cream machine with a smaller selection of sweets and fruit. Food wise, the New York steak was a nice surprise. My first portion was medium rare, juicy with a nice flavor. Unfortunately, the pieces continued cooking under the heat lamps. When I went back for more, they were super tough and dry. The honey walnut shrimp was delicious. Pretty standard, but still good. The Beef and Broccoli was easily one of my favorites. It had so much flavor with the garlic really shining through. There were some misses like the short ribs and teriyaki chicken, but that's kind of the fun of a buffet. You try everything then figure out what deserves a second plate. Cleanliness was alright. Our table was a little sticky, so that could've been better. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised. The service really made a difference too. I walked in expecting an average Chinese buffet experience and left genuinely happy with my meal.

They can handle larger and smaller groups.
