Went there with my family. Saw a roach unhurriedly climbing up the wall (probably on its way back to its family). I called the manager's attention to it. The manager pretended not to see it first, but when I insisted that it was indeed a cockroach the manager looked a little closer and said, "that's not our Loach" (yes, she literally said loach). ZERO STARS. If I could give zero stars, I would. The food is nothing special. The service is absolutely atrocious. The bar is in hell and they don't even reach that. My mom mistakenly took one dinner item - a little piece of salmon, not even a whole serving - onto her plate (mind you, they switch to dinner DURING lunch without really telling anyone, which can be very confusing), and the waitresses ganged up on her and were extremely rude to her, even after she explained she didn't know and it was by mistake. One of the waitresses went as far as to take the fish off her plate. What kind of abysmal treatment of a customer is that? It was an ACCIDENT. You don't take food off of a customer's plate and throw it in the garbage right in front of her face! Is it better to waste food and subject a customer to humiliating treatment than to just nicely explain to her what foods not to take and just let her have the little piece of fish? We called to that place to find out till when they are having the lunch and the lady told us that the lunch is up to 3pm. We were driving there from Queens, normally the time to travel there by car is 45 minutes but it was traffic that day and we arrived at 3pm and they refused us to sale the lunch after 1 hour driving for far away! Found this place randomly on Yelp while searching for a Chinese buffet, so we decided to try it out. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised by their $10 lunch special. With covid still a very huge issue we loved that they had gloves available for each round of serving and plastic over hangs at the food stations. We did see someone walking around with their mask below their nose and the staff nicely asked her to put it on properly and directed others to use gloves. This made me feel super comfortable during this uncertain time. Now onto the food review, I can honestly say there was not 1 thing I didn't like. They had a great variety for a cheap lunch and kept everything full and hot. Going to a buffet you don't expect 5 star food, but We happily finished all 4 plates we each made. Service is awesome! They kept my drink full and the table clean of empty plates. The only reason I am taking a star off is because of the ice cream. They only have the small styrofoam cups with minimal flavor options. Most of the cups had chips knocked out of them which made me question the sanitation. Plus what's a Chinese food buffet without the self serve ice cream with huge bar of toppings? Truly not great. I guess it's good for the $15 dinner buffet price, but honestly, only if you know nothing about actual Chinese food. My family loved it, but for me, there's no quality, which again, I guess you should expect. I feel like the flavors are off unless it's the basic fried stuff, sometimes they're not cooked enough or cooked wayy too much. I would recommend this if you don't really have high standards on food, but if you're used to eating authentic, high quality chinese food, this really won't do it for you. This buffet is so good ! We came here today for lunch and it was a great experience . I've never been to a buffet in LI ; the food is good . They have this green tea that makes you not get to full to easily which is great since there is so much food to eat . We were 5 ppl and surprisingly it was $52! Husband and I were so shocked ! 5 stars! This is my favorite Chinese buffet! I've been coming here for almost 6 years and my husband and I just love it. The food is extremely delicious!!!! Everything is fresh and packed with flavor. They have a variety of so many things. They even have a sushi section with fresh sushi and sauces. Also, their salad bar is a plus. My regular dishes are the Garlic shrimp, string beans, mushrooms, and the potatoes. The potatoes are sooooo tasty. My only dislike is the fountain sodas that they offer. My family and I just visited on for dinner. For a Chinese buffet the price is reasonable but the food is just average. The food is all the standard stuff you will find in most Chinese buffets. The space inside is very tight. There is very little room to seat comfortably or move around; especially after everyone eats. The food turned over quick this night I visited so everything is freshly cooked. Service can be better. The waiters were very slow at cleaning up and were not attentive. The location is easy to get to. . Parking lot was crowd but space is available as people are constantly leaving. There are not many tables for large families. The most you can seat is eight. Honestly, one of the best tasting buffets I have ever been to. I'm not saying it taste like a Michelin start chef prepared the food, but everything tastes good in my opinion. I come here almost every Tuesday for lunch (11am-3:30) which costs $7.99 and dinner is $12.99. Dinner includes shrimp in a tasty thick coconut sauce and crab legs of course. This restaurant has the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. They overcharged me by $7.00 on a $3.46 meal. Once I realized the overcharge, I went back to get my money. Why is this place so dirty? This is a standard Chinese buffet stuff which makes them not so special. They do have stone crabs which I saw a lot of people get. Their price is reasonable. When the restaurant is that dirty, usually the kitchen is dirty as well. I am not sure if I feel safe eating in China Buffet King. There are many chances that you can get cross contamination. I saw one of the employees remove the old food tray and put the new one in and pour the old food on top of the new food. I know for fact that they are not supposed to do that. I know it might not be a big deal to some of you, but can you imagine if they do not follow this rule what else do they do inside the kitchen? Dine or Ditch? Dine (hardly)... Your fortune says "it will be ok" Honestly, I was on the fence with this place. I've been here a number of time. My grandparents really enjoy it and to be honest, it's not bad for a cheap Chinese buffet. That said, don't expect a high caliber experience. This is really a perfect example of "you get what you pay for." Having been here time and time again I will say the soups I've had (wonton, egg drop, hot and sour) are usually good. They tend not to keep the wonton in stock so if you want it you may have to find someone to ask for more. As for the rest of their food, I have explored a fair amount and I've found the basics are usually on par. Egg rolls, chicken skewer, shrimp toast, and dumplings are all good apps. I've also found their standard Chinese dishes to be good. Lo mein, general tao, chicken and broccoli, steak and peppers, BBQ ribs, virtually anything within that realm of food. The fruits and desserts are all good. They find good bananas and watermelon and it's nice to get to finish the meal on a healthy note. Less healthy options, if you're just looking to go all out, such as the soft serve ice cream, apple pie, or the sugar doughballs (oddly near the egg rolls and other apps) are also a nice treat. On the flip side I would advise against anything that doesn't seem to fit. Pizza, pigs in a blanket, odd crab dishes, mashed potatoes that are probably just out of a bag, and some others. Even the sushi doesn't really strike me as something they should really be offering. Really if you stand there and go "odd, they have (insert food you wouldn't expect)?" just don't take it. There are a couple things that bother me. One is the hoops you need to jump through to get their attention for another pot of tea or glass of water. It seems like it's almost intentional that they avoid you in hopes you just give up. The other thing is they ALWAYS try to cheat you on the bill. Often they will add things (like today we were charged the dinner rate at 2pm) and they will never take off for seniors despite the fact that my grandparents are there weekly and my grandmother is in her 80s. It's just a bit annoying that they act like they've forgotten each time. Ultimately, don't come here with high expectations and you won't be disappointed. I asked for hot water for my babies bottle and whatever she brought me tasted like rust. It was really Bad. 2. I can only be honest about this place. 1. Food. For the price you pay, you get "okay" tasting food. I've been to other buffets and had better food. I enjoy their Sushi but I've also had better. I enjoy their chicken and broccoli with white rice, really good and it's mostly what I order. 2. Workers. The workers are really good, they are energetic and friendly. Manager, she is not so friendly. She's a reason why I do not drop by often. When I spend my money, I want to feel welcome and appreciated. I enjoy a person who can laugh and make their customers feel happy as they spend their money. However, this manager is way too serious, she looks stressed, and does not smile. She can act a bit fake with her how she comes off at times, you just can tell she wants you to get out. I remembered asking her what's the reason for the price jump because I was curious, it felt like I shouldn't have asked her or I should have already known the price they charged. It was really uncomfortable. If she hadn't swiped my card, I would have walked out and found another spot. 3. Location. Very clean. Can be crowded, during the week it's pretty empty. Overall: This place is not your typical spot to enjoy. I would not recommend coming her quite often. If you are hungry and do not feel like traveling a far distance, drop by. My family loved spending their money here, but we've cut back. This manager just does not fit well with business and if it fails, I'd blame it on her.
