The Chelan-Douglas Health District said the restaurant consistently violated temperature standards, which require cold food be chilled to at least 41 degrees, and hot food be heated to at least 140 degrees, said Marc Marquis, environmental health director for the health district. "We've never had a restaurant have four unsatisfactory inspections," Marquis said. He said the suspension is "more or less punitive. We've offered them technical assistance, we've recommended a risk-control plan so they don't have these problems, and we've assessed a $500 civil penalty to get their attention. I really like this place, but they're either having a staffing issue or something isn't right. I had to inform them about two food choices that had empty chafing pans. Isn't that their job to keep them full? Then one of the hostesses had her four children at a back table and was caring for them while waiting tables. Children fussed with each other the entire time I was there. Mom/Hostess was speaking to her children very loudly in her native language from wherever (across the restaurant) she was clearing a table. Seemed odd to me. Food was hot and tasted good. Owner was screaming at a little child(who was probably like 4-5)for some unknown reason. Then proceeds to scream and berated the little girls family (borderline harassment of the customer). She had no chill and kept to raise her voice. The family was about to walk out until she chased them down and made them pay for their meal. She then continued to berate the family once they left. My sister's and I have been going here for years, but I will never return. We always sit in a booth because they are more comfortable than their awful chairs, but today, the waitress insisted on telling me that I couldn't sit there because I'm too fat. I thought that I misheard and she repeated herself and then said "you too heavy" very loudly so everyone could hear. Clearly this was humiliating. I honestly don't get why this buffet got bad reviews. The food is warm at all times, the service is welcoming, the food does have flavor and I didn't break up with my boyfriend for bringing me here. My favorite has to be the broccoli, orange chicken, mushrooms, peppered chicken, and the chow mein. Perfectly adequate Chinese buffet. The food was fresh, and like many have pointed out, you could actually tell the difference between each individual dish by flavor and texture. Nothing really stood out as exceptional, but there wasn't anything particularly great either. It was clean, the servers were attentive. Both bonuses. What threw me off were the frequent signs of 'what you don't eat you get charged for'. While I understand that waste is often a problem with a buffet, it certainly took all the joy out of trying a variety of dishes. I was afraid to leave more than a few grains of rice on my plate, so I only had a handful of dishes, and tiny scoops of them at that, so I could at least sample a variety of foods. The owners might want to reconsider their methods to discourage food waste. read more

A friend took me here the first time and I have no problem going back. The food is fresh, nothing looked like it had been sitting under the heat lamps for hours. The sesame green beans were crunchy like they are supposed to be, each entree had its own distinct flavor and texture. There were lots of selections of fresh vegetables and lighter choices. The food is mediocre as well as the service until things took a turn in the midst of our dinner! One of the servers dare tell my little niece as I was away, "Don't take too much food if you're not going to eat it". First and foremost, she is 5; we are paying for our food; if I go get food with intent to eat, but it takes like crap... Then we will not be forced to finish it! Sever continued to talk to my Dad in an unpleasant manner while he was eating. My Dad several times has asked the server to leave so he can enjoy what remains of a mediocre dinner but she wouldn't because she was insistent of making a point... He gives the the hand gesture telling her to 'shooo' away. If that wasn't enough because the manager was apparently not in the building, my husband goes to speak the the cashier to clear this nonsense. The cashier subliminally disregards my husband while he shares his concern. He then intentionally turns to the waiting customers in line and shared our experience with them. Finally, it got her attention and she went to address the server. Mind you, I am sending this review as I my family concludes what remains on their plates. Being from Seattle and was excited to find an Asian inspired restaurant... Only to be completely disappointed that this is what Wenatchee has to offer for a buffet! We will not return. It is weird that this place has many poor reviews and yet is one of the busiest places to eat in town. I don't eat there all the time, but when I do I sometimes take out. It's a great buffet. The fresh food wasnt very satisfying and they charged me for the clams I could not stomach as take out because it was not finished. We used to be regulars of this place. Actually, we used to really like it. It wasn't amazing food or anything, but the quality/price ratio was great. We were extremely satisfied, especially with the dinner items. But lately they've been cutting down on the items and on the quality as well. Everything is much cheaper made, and it shows. Now the food here is as bad as the one in East Wenatchee. The rice is tough, the egg rolls are bland, the meat choices have gone down... This place is disgusting! There rip offs! This last time that I went I went with my boyfriend his brother and our nephew ! Our nephew is 5 years old and he loves the toy machine they have ware you can put a few quoters in and you get a toy or sticker or whatever, well I was with our nephew getting a toy and the lady was asking him if he would the expensive ones or if he'll like the cheap ones! If I'm willing to even spend that kind of money in such little things!
