Really wanted to try a different Chinese place so I followed the Yelp reviews to China Cafe and even drove a distance to get there. We ordered the Szechwan Tofu with LoMein. And the Dragon Meets Phoenix with Fried Rice and some Egg drop soup. When we opened the containers everything smelled of old rancid oil and because we spent almost 40 bucks and were already all the way home we attempted to eat it anyway. What we could taste above the rancid oil has less flavor than the average airport Manchu Wok (which is a heck of a lot more fresh because the turnover keeps the food fresh). The flavors in both main dishes which were advertised as spicy on the menu were not spicy at all and just not particularly good. Maybe we hit them on a bad Saturday night but they weren't busy at dinner time which should have been a tip off. As a weekly traveler and avid user of Yelp not sure where the great reviews are coming from but I cannot recommend this place. read more

First time here and overall the experience was excellent. Covid19 ready as I went in to pickup my order. The Crab Rangoon is best I've had in this area. I had the egg drop soup which was thick and well seasoned. My wife had the chicken/vegetable Lo mein which was perfect in taste, but was lacking in veggies. I've always liked China Cafe and visited them frequently when they were in Springdale. When they moved I was excited to know that they we're still close by. One of my favorite dishes was the Singapore Rice Noodles.There service was always impeccable, food was always delivered in a timely manner, but the food doesn't taste the same anymore! I've ordered the Singapore Rice Noodles on two different occasions and it has tasted awful. The first time the noodles smelled of burnt and tasted horrible! I immediately spit out and was left with an awful after taste. I understand that cooks change and thought that this was a one time incident and on a second occasion I Ordered another order of Singapore Rice Noodles and it was not any better than the first. Best Chinese food in NWA, reopened in Rogers after selling the original location in Springdale! I'm so excited that they're open again! I got the Hunan Chicken dinner with white rice. It was loaded with meat and tasted great, even my 2 year old loved it. Generous portion, I have some leftovers for tomorrow. They have great Chinese food at reasonable prices and an authentic Chinese menu as well which is very tasty. Go here now and you won't be disappointed! read more

Few words but a great time, The "China Café" was convenient, aesthetically pleasing, and truly authentic. Service was amazing and they had many options open on the menu, I chose the Kung pao chicken and tasted the ox tongue. Sadly the Kung pao had no kick. Very happy with China cafe! I'm so happy that a real chinese restraunt is finally in Rogers/Bentonville!! I tried the Mongolian beef, lo mein and egg rolls. All very good, but the Mongolian beef was outstanding. The only issue I have is that the menu is somewhat limited for a Chinese place. I didn't see some of my favorite dishes on the menu like sweet and sour chicken or egg fu yung. All around a great experience and the best chinese food in Rogers. read more

Today was our first and last visit to this restaurant. We were barely greeted when we walked in the door and service only deteriorated from there. We had to get up and go get our own silverware after asking for it twice. The waiter was a complete jerk when I asked for spicy mustard and he also never refilled our drinks. The food was neither better or worse than other Chinese restaurants in the area, but it was oddly served in a school cafeteria type tray. If you want cheap food, I guess try this place out. Order was ready as advertised & bagged to withstand our ride home. Staff was friendly. Ordered Chicken/Broccoli w/Garlic Sauce, House Special Lo Mein & House Special Fried Rice. Fortune cookies included. Our food was still pleasantly warm after traveling 15 miles from pickup to home. Our meal, and subsequent leftovers, was fresh and flavorful. We asked that our order be a little spicy. Everything was just right to our liking. It appears that the restaurant takes care to ensure that their food is good quality & authentic. Wow! Our first time here. Everything was excellent. Atmosphere, value, and most of all, the food. Hubs had the Triple Delight Hunan (H4). He couldn't finish it all. I had the Moo Shu Chicken, Pork, and Shrimp (H14) with wonton pancakes. (I'm a picky eaten. They handled all of my special requests pleasantly...and ACCURATELY! Excellent! I also had the hot and sour soup. I am a snob when it comes to this dish. It was not my most favorite of all I've had; probably the second best, though. Went here recently for lunch before making a road trip. My goodness, I was surprised! The quality of the food was better than I was expecting. We had a couple different chicken dishes, and they were more than what we could finish, as you get quite a bit for the money, and the flavors are decent. China cafe hands down has the most unfriendly waiters. You never get a smile and for sure you never get a refill. The food used to be much better but has declined steadily. They have a hard time timing the food to come out at the same time which is awkward when only half of you have your dinner while the other half watches you eat. Went there with my wife on our anniversary and this is the best Chinese food we have had outside of my kitchen in NWA. What a pleasant surprise. We had Ma-Po bean curd, Moo Shu pancakes, dumplings and soup. Everything was very good except for the service but admittedly everyone worked hard and the place was busy. Maybe in the off hours the owner should focus on training. Also, the Moo Shu pancakes were a little tough. For a sit-down Chinese restaurant, this is better than average! The food was fresh and delicious, and we really liked the assortment of items on the menu. I can't say that anything was remarkable, but it is a solid choice for Chinese food in the area. Usually this place is my ride or die for Chinese food, I'm a regular customer! However, something strange happened today. I ordered a lunch special, which is an amazing deal - usually. Today I got charged $2 for extra mushrooms, which is total crap because I asked for no green peppers so is it really extra vegetables?! No! So my $8-9 lunch special turned into $13 which is a bit steep for lunch. And when I mentioned it to "the card swiper," he didn't seem to care at all. Feeling super unappreciated, especially for how much money I spend there. Needless to say, they could work on their customer service otherwise the food was delicious as always. read more

This is, by far, the best Chinese food I have had in a long time! I had the Mongolian Chicken; my friend, the General Tso's Chicken. Appetizers were the egg rolls, crab rangoons, and steamed dumplings. All were exceptionally prepared and delicious. Food was hot, service was professional and courteous. What a great menu, service, selection! Food was made fresh from quality ingredients! No more PF changs for us! The staff was super attentive, the portions were more than enough. I liked China Café pretty well. We opted for takeout and it was a pleasant atmosphere to wait for the food and a short wait. They did forget an item, but when we returned they immediately fixed the problem and were gracious about it. I would return to China Café but sort of hoping that I will find a "go to" item among my selections next time, as this time it was a little bit lacking. Our party tried quite a few menu items without finding the star of the show but overall good quality has me optimistic about future visits. The bean curd was good but not wild about the pineapple chicken because it did not have much if any pineapple flavor to it. Their crab Rangoon is good and I liked the edamame was plain and not covered in salt like some restaurants do it. Definitely a nice spot to dine in next time. read more
