Just ok. Wanted to give it a shot with the new owners. Very friendly folks, but the food was sorta meh. Eggroll was decent, fried rice was ok. The problem was the sweet & sour shrimp main dish. One chunk of pineapple, two hunks of green pepper in the sauce - the end. Outside batter was somehow overcooked and downright crunchy with the shrimp being mushy inside. Not sure how that happens, but I couldn't even finish it. Maybe they will improve but for now, many better options. read more

Food was hot and fresh! I recommend the almond chicken. Man o man, fresh hot and crispy Asian fried chicken. Service: so nice, kind and welcoming. New to the area and was looking for quick Chinese take-out. The woman at the desk was friendly and took my order quickly. We ordered Mei Fun (Singapore noodles) and Lo Mein dish - both were great. Portions were good size, pricing is what I would expect, two entrees came to $31. Very happy with what we had and will be back again. read more

Food was great! ABC was delish. $9 lunches! The gravy was a little bit different than I'm used to, but it was good. The "sub gum shrimp" came with a brown sauce.. normally is a light white sauce. Very tasty take-out. The ABC was very crispy with perfectly cooked interior. You get an entire package of pancakes with the moo shoo, so you don't need to order more. I am used to only getting three with an order - so super kudos. Looking forward to trying more dishes next time we are in town. read more

Family owned and ran! The food is consistently outstanding and fresh. The shrimp are large and cooked perfectly every time. The best Egg Foo Young I have ever had. Best Chinese on the East side. Only two small tables here, so you're probably going to get take-out. I had the shrimp and vegetable platter with garlic. The owner, who took my order, asked me if I wanted it "hot", and when I told her that I did, she warned me that there are no refunds. But, it wasn't that spicy. It did, however, have too much green pepper taste in the dish, so much so that it overwhelmed the other tastes in the platter. Prices just jumped but the food is good. It is a carry out establishment, so in and out with little conversation. Smiles from what seems to be the daughter of the business is mostly what you will be greeted with. Looks like they could take the time to clean a little but that seems to be the way ALL Chinese restaurants appear to me. Lots going on in there. They like to chatter in the back in Chinese. Our go to Chinese, here in the Pointes. Fast friendly service, I have had to call a few times to get through, but that shows how good the place is. Huge portions, General Tsos is excellent, much prefer the chicken based dishes to the beef. Prices are very reasonable. read more

This is a above average Chinese food takeout joint. General Tso's Chicken was a very generous portion and was very tasty. My wife is pescatarian (no meat) and really enjoyed the tofu version of General Tso's. Ordered app of the Crab Rangoon which was very different from other places. It has cheddar cheese rather than other places using cream cheese. They were decent but nothing I would get again . Ordered the Triple Crown Chow Mein (with noodles). Husband ordered chicken chow Mein. We both received a container of soggy bean sprouts drenched in flavorless sauce with no noodles. When we called to ask where our noodles were, she said they were in a separate container. We hadn't received any other containers... After back and forth banter, I realized she meant the two bags of those nasty deep fried chips. We are supposed to put soggy bean sprouts over deep fried chips.... Google Chow Mein- you'll see pictures of pan fried noodles, not deep fried chips in a bag. The lady on the phone said "you must have been confused about the types of noodles". My food is a can of heated La Choy stir fry... I paid $40 for dinners, tips and delivery for Grocery store quality Chinese... Don't waste your time. read more

I am completely confused how this place could have such high ratings. Except I'm not. I travel from the West Coast back to Detroit to see family--and sometimes we get carry out from here. And it's not memorable. Broccoli beef in a thick, gelatinous sauce (not that oily, but still)....Singapore noodles with too much grease, no spice and not enough shrimp and other things lurking in the noodles. Vegetables buried in some anonymous brown sauce. Oh no. I mean, no one got sick or anything and we all ended up full---but still... On the bright side, the people are hardworking and pleasant. And oddly, if the order is tuned by ordering in Cantonese, the entire food experience bumps up a notch (I think they cook to a Chinese palate in that case rather than an Americanized one)... One might want to consider making the effort to cross town and go to Golden Harvest if you're going to have Chinese food in Detroit....And yes, I realist this entire review could be lethally tainted by West Coast snobbism. There are a few things I miss about GP, and this is one of them. Next to Moy's, the best Chinese anywhere in the area. The Tso's and the Sesame Chicken are delicious. The Singapore Noodles are my wife's favorite. Bonny is a sweetheart of a girl, and is the perfect conduit between her parents (who are a little rough around the edges volume-wise) and the customer. We had a pathetic experience: 1) We asked for Almond Chicken but instead got fried chicken which had a disgusting taste. Felt like we were gulping down just pure hydrogenated oil. We actually had to throw most of the food away. 2) They stuffed all the food in just one messy bag with all the sauces leaking to the bottom of the bag. 3) On calling the restaurant, they said that I was calling too late in the day, even though I called within 10 minutes of food delivery. On my insistence, the lady said that the owner of the restaurant would reach out to us within a short while but no one did. I would not recommend this place. Bad service, bad food. read more

I went to the dentist today and, of course, after being bad (i.e. eating too much sugar and chewing on ice) - I needed some repair work done on a couple of molars. Needless to say, my mouth had to be numbed and I couldn't eat for several hours. At around noon (I skipped breakfast), my stomach began to digest itself so I stopped at this little chinese place on Mack in the middle of running some errands. I really enjoyed the food. I ordered a lunch platter which comes with fried rice and an egg roll as well as a main course of your choosing. The egg roll was filled with bean sprouts - just the way I like it. Love the egg roll. The fried rice was very tasty as well. I did order a 'keep it safe' lunch by going with the almond chicken (considering that my mouth had not yet regained any feeling), but it was very good - I liked the gravy a lot. The portion was huge - for $5.25, it could easily feed 2 people. The chicken was a little greasy but still delicious. They lose a star for only carrying pepsi and bottled water as beverages. Granted, they are primarily a carry-out place, but there are tables to sit down and I am anti-pepsi. The also lose a star because I could taste the grease in the chicken. read more
