We had ordered take out a few weeks ago and their chicken chop suey was really good. We ordered today and we ordered the same 2 meals we had before. My husband walked in to order knowing they did not have a place to sit and wait. The man at the counter was extremely rude to me husband. He then said you wait outside and it will be ready in 10 minutes. He returned and our food was packaged to take home. We got home and opened it and the order he gave us was not ours. The food was cold and inedible. I wonder if it was intentional because my husband did not call ahead or did they lose their cooks and they were trying to pick up the slack? First time here, always looking for new Chinese places. Door man was kinda rude at first, the place has a nice ambience. I ordered the lunch special (sesame chicken, fried rice, egg roll, and wonton soup) I was a little disappointed that I couldn't substitute my soup for another egg roll only because I'm not much of an Asian soup person YET.... oh and a hot Tea unfortunately they do not have honey :(. The soup was okay if you're into that kinda thing. The egg roll(pork) was very good, one of the best I've ever had, it was perfect really. And the main course of sesame chicken was really enjoyable! All the right flavour of what you would expect sesame chicken have was there! My tea was really good despite the lack of honey, I don't use honey for a sweet adjustment but more for its natural antibiotic properties. I WOULD eat here again! Good food! Very sweet and saucy lemon chicken! The fried rice had a good flavor. The egg drop soup was a bit lacking ( i dont know what was a bit strange about it but i ate every last bite.) I am very disappointed with my meals , I ordered the kungpao chicken and it hardly had chicken also the taste was not spicy. My husband got the veggie lo mein and cream puffs and the taste was awful, the noodles tasted like they weren't fresh and the cream puffs were salty and full of garlic. This is my second try at China Dynasty and my experience is just the same...disgusting! I ordered the General Tso's and the chicken was really dark and chewy. It was absolutely awful. I asked for shrimp fried rice instead of the regular fried rice. They advised they can not do it. I told them I know I need to pay extra. They said they still can't do it. This led me to ask if the fried rice was pre-made, and it is. If I'm paying $3.99 for a combination platter, I would expect the worst part of the chicken meat and pre-made rice. BUT $10 I would expect freshly made food and better quality meat. It was worse than Asian style mall food court meals. I'm from up North, and maybe I'm just used to how these dishes are made there. For all those who give it 5 stars, you simply have no idea what good chinese is lol. If you just moved to Austin, I would recommend Thai restaurants over this place. I got sesame chicken, cream cheese rangoons and the spicy dumplings delivered. The rangoons and sesame chicken are great and the sweet and sour sauce is very good and more complex tasting then the usual Chinese restaurant sweet and sour usually is. Not a huge fan of the spicy dumplings. They don't have much flavor to me. read more

We have lived in Austin for almost 2 years and have found it difficult to find a good place for Chinese food. This place is cozy and comfortable. Lunch was a great value for what you get. We ordered the wings as an appetizer and were very pleased. Chips (wonton strips) were fresh and cooked perfectly. I had sweet and sour chicken which was very good. The fried rice was not cooked with vegetables so it lacked a bit in flavor and didn't seem as hot as the entree. Egg rolls had a great flavor as well as the egg drop soup. My wife had the orange chicken, which wasn't on the menu, and it was great. All in all a great meal, little room for improvement. read more

I love the wings from China Dynasty. They are always consistent and good. However, I would not recommend ordering anything else unless you love sodium. Saturday night we ordered General Tso chicken and pork dumplings. I have never seen General Tso look like that before. Had a baby poop hue to it and the rice was under cooked. Dumplings were good but the soy sauce that comes with is Uber salty. Have us immediate heartburn. With all of that said, stick to the wings and you'll be good. read more

I ordered sweet sour chicken with fried rice and egg rolls. Egg rolls were bland and cardboardy Chicken over cooked, burnt, in what tasted like old oil. The rice was kind of mushy, no peas, carrots, or egg, just rice. I am use to pineapple, tomatoes or peppers, whatever, this had square chopped lettuce, 3 small peppers and 2 small goofy cut pieces of carrot. The best part was the sweet sour sauce. Very yummy. I imagine they have many yummy sauces that help get even an old sock down in your belly. It helped get those burnt chicken logs down. Terrible place to eat especially lunch, they can't handle even small crowds. My wife and I went in for lunch it only took about five minutes to get seated, but never got drinks or anything else including menus. Two other couples came in after we did and we waited on right away. I complain to the waiter who replied " we're busy". We got up to walk out complaining all the way out while the owners son argued with us. I pointed in his direction and indicated that their service sucks, at which time he commanded that I stopped pointing in his restaurant. I told him I could do whatever I wanted to do, when he said let's go outside, and I obliged him. We yelled at each other at the front door for a couple minutes and he turned around and walked inside and I left. Terrible place to eat. Ah, good ole' China Dynasty. They have been my go-to chinese restaurant for probably 15 years. I've moved up to North Austin so I haven't eaten there in a while, but the quality of their food and wait staff was always top-notch. They have an extensive menu and I always really appreciated that they allowed me to make slight changes to a particular dish if I so desired. My go-to order, the Moo Goo Gai Pan, never lets me down, especially with extra chicken and sauce added. Also noteworthy, I have yet to find a restaurant with better egg rolls. They're so perfectly crispy and stuffed with the right amount of goodness. The restaurant doesn't have the nicest curb appeal but trust me on this, China Dynasty will not disappoint. Terrible food placed order for take out told us about a 30 min wait. Family said ok and waited till go pick up the food. The wait was actually over 1 hr long went home food had an ok taste and flavor food was lukewarm mind you i live literally 5 mins away. Boy did that food make us all pay wife 2 kids and mother in law are all sick with a nasty food bug thank god we have 3 bathrooms. Their wonton soup and orange peel beef are yummy, and their lunch prices are super reasonable, even their dinner prices are good for the amount of food you get. I have my favorite local place in Round Rock. This is my Mom's Go-to spot near Buda. Mom had a guest from out of state and I was hanging out South Austin - so we had dinner here. Get some soup. Really. Get the won ton soup. Flavorful and cabbage for added texture. We had tea, soup, eggs rolls, chicken and broccoli, beef and broccoli, and sesame chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is clean and cute Our poor server was incredibly polite but unsure how to counter our frisky senior banter. All in all, great dinner. Fair priced.
