Located in an Industrial part of Canoga Park right next to the Post Office and where the train runs. The restaurant is pretty much empty when I come here. It has a pretty big dining area, but I never eat here. I always take it to go. They never turn on the AC and you know how the Valley gets in the Summer time. I always get the 2 item and they give you a lot of food. It's not over the top where you can't close the lid and it's not like what Panda Express gives you. The place has now changed hands and names. I will visit again and update. Below is a review of the old place. Good fast food chinese, served in huge portions, with friendly and helpful service. This place was originally a Sizzler steakhouse, back in the days of the dinosaurs. The place hasn't changed much, except for the steam table. One great thing they have are their rice noodles, which are wide and mixed with cabbage, which you can get instead of rice and chow mein when you order a combo. Do it...they are special compared with what you normally get at most such short order places. The other entrees look and taste just fine for what they are and how they are priced. Really beats a burger and fries, for sure. I have had better elsewhere...and paid a whole lot more for it. The server is very friendly and patient. I was there on a Sunday afternoon most recently, and there were plenty of people there. Don't misunderstand. The place is cheap and the food is basic. It is also mass produced. Just the same, it is tasty and absolutely worth it if you want a good expensive lunch when you are in the area. Order to go--you will have leftovers! So I was at the post office until I smelled something really good cooking. I already had something in the car but I decided why not? I drove next door to find a Chinese place, China Express. It's price is great they advertise a $3.+ lunch special that comes with rice, chow mein and an entree. I opted for the two entree which was around $4.+ I believe and an extra pint order of chow mein cause I got chow fun with the order instead. I got shrimp with mixed vegetables and beef and broccoli as my two entrees. They lady seriously just packed on the food till it looked like the tray was about to snap into half! I came home popped the lid and tried the two entrees first which were both well seasoned. The chow mein and fried rice could use a little more flavor in my opinion, but its well worth the money. They do charge a processing fee if you use your credit card, but its just a couple of cents =] It's def. a place to checkout when you have the time, more authentic than panda express, cheaper, and you get way more! =] Happy eating! read more

I would have given 1 1/2 stars but that is not possible with this rating system. I have had better Mandarin, although not a big fan of Mandarin style Chinese food. They have very little Szechuan and not very well executed dishes. There is much to be desired on their Cantonese side of the menu. The food is cheap here and there is a reason for it. Inferior ingredients. I don't mind paying more for better ingredients. I would also suggest that they leave the salting of the food up to each individual customer since several of their dishes are usually prepared very salty. read more

Found this place through Yelp of course looking for cheap chinese food in my area and I literally JUST ate here, I had to write a review! First of all, this place is CHEAP, cheaper than Panda Express and all the American Chinese fast food places. I eat a lot of "Chinese" food and I'm usually picky because we all know how greasy American Chinese food can be. This place was in my opinion is way worth it! We paid in cash but if you were to pay with debit or credit there's a minimum purchase of $10 with a 45 cent surcharge which isn't bad at all. The 2 entree, one side combo was just a little more than $5 and it's true that they PACK ON the food, so always order to go even if you're gonna sit down to eat! This place is also obviously greasy but I honestly didn't really care because the food was actually pretty good for the price! And eating greasy food is okay once in a while haha! I don't agree with some reviews on here saying that the food is really bad, I say it's decent to good depending on what you order. It's a good place to go for a cheap and fulfilling meal, especially if you're not so health conscious! My boyfriend and I ordered the chow mein, some asian noodle (Forgot what it's called exactly, looked like pad thai noodles), and some fried rice for the sides and our entrees were their Spicy Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, and the BBQ pork.. The BBQ Pork was OKAY I didn't really like it, I didn't like the fried rice either. BUT!! I have to point out that I really LOVED their Orange Chicken (Got two servings for it for lunch tomorrow!) and their Kung Pao Chicken was spicy and really good! Just to add on, the parking lot WAS empty when we arrived there at around 6pm but as soon as some time went by, the parking lot filled up really fast and people started piling in for dinner time! Came back here after a few years, the food is still the same or even better. The portions that they give is actually a bit more than before which is another plus. This place has new colorful seats now, it's bright so when I walked in I was pretty impressed with the way it looks now. Incredibly cheap and delicious Chinese food! You can get a two item combo with fried rice or chow mein or 1/2-1/2 for less than 6 bucks. I used to go there all the time! (5 yrs ago). I would crave the sweet and sour and orange chicken! Then they started slacking in the quality of the food. I would take a bite but, the chicken was like jerky inside. It got to the point to where I was spitting out pieces and then trying for another bite. Say, 3 1/2 out of 5 pieces would be pretty bad and I would spit it out. I stopped going there. Tonight my husband said he wanted to go to China Express and asked if I wanted anything. I asked him if he could go elsewhere but, he was set on this place. OK, maybe they've changed and gotten better, I'll try it again, why not. I really want to like this place again! Blah! As I took the first bite of orange chicken, I remembered why I stopped going there years ago. Same as before, if not worst. It did manage to eat 2 bites of chicken that wasn't bad and actually had some meat in it. Chow mein noodles were really thick, like it had been sitting for a while or cooked too long. Okay, not a five star place in general, but a five star place for cheap Chinese food. I just ate 1/4 of what the woman packed in my plate and feel like I'm in a food coma! The prices are definitely cheap and the server will pack it and pack it until it literately falls off the tray. I would stamp it as a cheap pig-out spot. Definitely want to share your plate with at least two other people since the portions are big, and well Chinese is not exactly healthy. FOOD- Kung Pao chicken, beef, or shrimp doesn't have peanuts :( The cuts of the carrots are too thick and there isn't enough zucchini in the items that have it. The noodles might be a little too thick, but the vegetables that come with it, are cooked to the right spot. If you order shrimp, don't expect the woman to count the number of shrimp- she'll seriously keep packing it in (is she secretly trying to kill shrimp lovers? lol) PRICE- let's put it this way, if I was a single mother with 10 kids, I'd be able to feed my kids with $10 worth of food from this place and still have left-overs. One thing to watch out for, since it is Chinese, and they do pack it in, and it isn't exactly healthy... be sure to eat small portions in longer periods of time so that you don't overeat and kill yourself while eating here. This little hole-in-the-wall was a nice find. Don't be scared by the dingy exterior and the barren interior. Also don't be scared by the hot counter either. When I ordered, I thought I was going to be served the food off of the hot counter that looked like it had been sitting there all day. You can't expect to get excellent food from a place that is this cheap, but what you can expect is food that is on par with panda express but at a fraction of the price. Portions here are huge! We ordered the orange chicken with steamed rice and were given a foam take out box filled with it to the point that the lid wouldn't close. All for about 7 bucks. For that price at panda you would get about 5 pieces. Not knowing the portion sizes, we also ordered a Broccoli Beef. We had enough food to probably feed about 5 people.
