I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews from here. We have gotten dinners to go multiple times and they have always been very good. And they have shrimp egg rolls that are excellent. We got shrimp lo main, shrimp with Chinese vegetable, and a seafood medley and i subbed spicy garlic sauce. Everything was VERY GOOD. Don't give up on this place. It was delicious. read more

This USED to be our go to Chinese place around SW Cape. Unfortunately, lately the quality of the food has dwindled drastically. I ordered the General Tsos Chicken, as always. It used to be crispy, a lot of chicken and a great flavor. The past couple times though the chicken is SOGGY and the rice is also SOGGY. Like a very wet, mushy texture. Also, the flavor of the meal itself was bad. Tasted like it chicken was cooked with burnt oil, or oil contaminated with other dishes (burnt, fishy taste). Sad because this spot used to be great. I'm giving five stars for reasons other than the food. This place has been super COVID friendly and if you pay in cash you get a free small container of soup. Your choice. The food is good as well. The Spring Rolls are so full of fresh ingredients. The hot and sour soup is full of mushrooms, tofu, and egg strands. I always get Singapore Noodles, or Mai Fun as they call it. It is slightly spicy with pork, chicken, shrimp, and veggies. And noodles, but small noodles. We also get the Orange Beef. Very flavorful but could do with a few more bits of orange rind. Just grate some Orange rind over the dish before serving. This has been our once a week go to Chinese restaurant. We are never disappointed. read more

So I wanted to try a new Chinese restaurant in Cape Coral and I saw that this place had pretty good reviews. So I decided to try this place out. The prices weren't to bad for lunch wise. But I wouldn't really say that the place is full on Chinese wise. They had one worker who was like part Chinese and spoke English very well and then the other worker was full American. Which it shouldn't even matter who's who as long as they know how to make the food the right way. So let's get down to the food part. So we ordered a lot of different things. But I'll get to the food I had. So I had an order of sesame chicken with some fried rice. And the sesame chicken was very chewy and had very little chicken in each piece I had. It pretty much was covered in just mostly breading only. But the breading was chewy and then right in the center of the breading was a small shred of chicken. So I was only able to eat very little of each piece and I had to spit the rest out on to the plate that wasn't chicken. The fried rice that came with the sesame chicken wasn't even natural Chinese fried rice. It was orange fried rice. The rice wasn't that bad either way. but I was still very disappointed about the sesame chicken I had. I also had crab Rangoon's which are usually my favorite thing to order when I go to Chinese restaurants. But the crab Rangoons I had here weren't that sweet in taste wise and the creamy stuff inside had a thick paste to it. We also had some sweet and sour chicken one with a honey dip sauce and the second order with a red orange sauce and the honey dip wasn't even the honey sauce we ordered with the chicken. It was a spicy sauce instead. The sweet and sour chicken also had a lot of breading around it. So maybe that's the problem. They should just use less breading and more chicken instead. We also had some steak stuff and egg rolls but I haven't had a chance to eat them yet. I definitely wouldn't come here again even if they offered me a free meal. I was very disappointment in the food that I had. So I'm going to post some images of the food I had. And you guys can see the same chicken broken apart with almost no chicken inside it. read more

OK I always try to give every place the benefit of the doubt. I was working in the Cape today starving, it's 2:30 in the afternoon and I'm looking at fast food like it's going to be amazing. And I keep telling myself support local business, so I pull into the shopping center and there is CHINA GARDEN. I'm like well you know I haven't really had Chinese food for a while let's give it a shot. I real quick look at the reviews and try to talk myself out of it. But no I'm a trooper let's try this place. First of all this place is not a place you want to eat inside it is definitely more take out. I think they have four tables inside and most of them they're working tables so I was able to sit at one that was empty. I ordered chicken chow mein and vegetable fried rice. And it was for there. I don't even really know what I had. It was definitely boiled chicken, celery and onions with a little bit of bean sprouts. There were no noodles in this chow mein. It had zero flavor. I mean there was like not any space whatsoever. It was the most bland food I've ever tasted. Now for the rice....Again, bland it had no flavor. I don't even know if it was fried rice. There was no eggs, no onion, nothing but a couple of peas and may be a piece of carrot carrot. I actually was quite surprised because there are Chinese people in the kitchen. So I thought well maybe it's some non-authentic person cooking but nope it was definitely Chinese. I give it one star because the kitchen looks clean. I cannot give it one star because the gal who took my order and gave me a really ice cold Coke, I was really super sweet. But they really do need to get some kind of cooking lessons. This is the most disgusting, filthy restaurant I have ever entered. Had I known, I wouldn't have ordered a take out. I really should have turned around and run out when I walked in. My experience at China garden was average at best. Food was good but nothing to keeping me coming back. A large amount of their business seemed to carry out/ take-out since several people came in to get their food in the 30 mins we ate there. I would compare dining inside the establishment to eating on a park table at a state park. They basically hand you your food packaged for takeout and you sit down at 1 of the 4 tables. They do not have fountain drinks but do have a cooler with over priced drinks( $1 for 12oz can). If you are close and really want Chinese take-out then I would consider ordering from here. Keeping the star raiting the same as my previous review. Went back simply cause a recipe disaster at home made takeout a requirement. And this place is closer than our preferred Chinese goto. Remembered the pupu platter was good... Should've ordered two and called it a good day. There was almost a fight for who got which goodies from it. However NOBODY wanted to try and figure out the mystery wonton. Ordered the beef lomein again, but didn't bother for making it the combo with the creepy rice. Should've checked my own review about the lomein. I should've tried something else no matter how much I was craving the dish. It had even LESS flavor than the previous time! And the flavor it did have, and the smell it had... Took a while to figure it out. Cause it was like faint ammonia-ish but I knew that just could NOT be the case. Then realized there were green onions in it. I've never in my life seen green onions in beef lomein. And the taste/smell finally made sense. The green part of the onion being over cooked! I've made that mistake in my own cooking in the past, so I was no longer worried I'd be dealing with food poisoning. HALLELUJAH! The next day I tried to fix the leftover lomein. Tossed it into a pan, added garlic powder, a good amount of Chinese five spice, and a whole LOT of soy sauce. By the time it was heated through and the sauce had thickened some. It actually looked, smelled, and tasted like good Chinese food. So if you ever want to impress people with your cooking skills... Order from here, fix the food to how it actually should taste, and tell your guests you made it. :-D read more

Just moved hoping for a good Chinese restaurant. This isn't it. Wife called in ordered for LO mein, they gave us CHOW mein. When I picked up order the white kid had me repeat my order Which was LO mein twice...based on his pause he knew chow mein was in the bag but handed it over anyways. We've never had chow mein before but let me tell you it is nasty looking stuff, so we got home and called back and when they said "can you hold", wife said "no" he said with attitude "actually you can" and put on hold. White kid is very rude. So we drove back, informed him of his error, white kid argued saying we ordered CHOW mein ( never in our life have we ever order chow mein). We won't be back. Ever. And would not recommend to anyone. As far as the food... Crab Rangoon is terrible, very little filling, chewy, not good at all. Shrimp lo mein (once we finally got it) was below average. Chow mein, didn't even try it but looked disgusting. We will drive 5 minutes father to "China Tokyo express" by Winn Dixie/west marine. Been going there for years and is very good. read more

My family and I have ordered from China Garden for years. I don't know what happened but they have become rude and impatient. My husband just tried to order and when asked to repeat the order back to verify it was correct (which he does with every establishment we order from) the guy yelled it back to him with attitude and then hung up on him. When he called back to cancel and express why, the guy said "ok no problem!" And hung up on him again! Unbelievable! We will not be ordering from them which is a shame because I remember their food being delicious read more

The food is ok I feel that they can do better. Their lomein not so great it taste like bad microwave food the taste is bazaar. The rest of the food I tried like the gen-sol, chicken & brocolli, garlic chicken etc is ok but it is not my first choice in Chinese takeout but it is clean and friendly.
