Wow had a taste for Chinese after a great church service. Ordered the classic shrimp fried rice and crab raggon. Got home opened up to make a plate and the container was full of rice, small shrimp sprinkled over the top. What frustrated us the most was the lack of vegetables in the rice. I remember when shrimp fried rice had carrots, celery, and onions, peas. This order was a waste of food and money, it was not even satisfying flavor wise. Can't believe they are charging more and giving less value. Well back to cooking our own shrimp fried rice, we were just trying to support local businesses. Yuck! They do not season their fried rice. It was very bland. After doctoring up our food (which is ridiculous), it was edible. We were throwing salt, pepper, soy sauce, hot mustard, sriracha. I even whipped up some eggs. Their fried rice only comes with the meat, chopped white onions (literally chopped, the pieces were huge) and green onions. Service was quick... and that's the only good thing I can say about this place... There isn't any music playing it was eerily silent and only two other ppl there while we ate... I asked them when we came in if the food was good.. they said it was... they lied... the waitress asked me if I wanted fried rice or white with my meal and then up charged me for it without warning she would do so... the fried rice tasted like they cooked it on the floor, it was almost black... so maybe they did... The meat was cooked ok but was drowned in sauce ... I brought the leftovers home but even my dog walked away from it... My mom got moo gai pan... and hers also was drowning in sauce.. she said it tasted "ok" but she wasn't impressed either... We order delivery from here at least once a month I love their fried rice! There has been a few times where it has been not as good but mostly the best fried rice around. The driver is always so nice he knows us and our little dog. Lol. At first I thought they were rude on the phone but I think they're just busy all the time. I would rather have proficiency then being too nice anyway. The prices are very fair my son loves the 'Chinese donuts" my favorite is the chicken on a stick. The food was very satisfying. I picked this place to pick up dinner from reading the previous reviews on Yelp. When I walked in, I wasn't very comfortable with the environment. It didn't look or smell clean. There's nothing enticing about the atmosphere which made me question the order I was there to pick up. However, when I got home, I opened my bag and was very satisfied with my combination Lo mein, egg rolls and Crab Rangoon. I highly recommend it and will go back. read more

This is literally the only Chinese food restaurant in the neighborhood anymore. I have them saved in my contacts, have been here numerous of times throughout the years. This place outlasted the other 2 (one was right next door and the other was a little down the street). They've recently renovated the inside of the place which is good, previously it was somewhat off putting. Maybe now they'll bring the buffet back. Everything I've had here has always tasted great, with the exception of the fried rice. That has always been pretty bad. The locals know not to order the fried rice from here. I'm not sure if it's their choice of brand for rice or if they fry it in bulk then just add in items when someone places an order but they should work on that. Fried rice is usually the safe go to for an Asian spot... not here lol. BUT LUCKILY everything else is pretty good. read more

When it comes to American Chinese food, this is the place to go. I thought I was biased to the taste since I've been eating there since childhood, but I recently introduced my partner to them and now his whole family chooses New China as their primary chinese food choice. Delivery is fairly quick and accurate. Sometimes the lady who takes the orders forgets to give the details of the order, so make sure to ask (how long will it take &how much will it cost). Also, if you're a chop stick user, make sure to ask for them or they'll be left out of the bag. They have some great specials that you wouldn't know about unless you have the menu, but they always honor them even when not reminded, so if you end up with an extra crab rangoon or egg roll, that's probably why. They supposedly have a buffet, but I've never seen it set up, even around lunch time. Eating in is quiet and pleasant, but expect to see a steady stream of people coming in to pick up. I wish more people ate in, but we always seem to be the only ones when we do. The carpet is worn, and the bathroom i ls uncomfortably tiny, but otherwise the restaraunt is always clean and the decor very nice. I love the big picture they have over their booths of the mountain and (i think) cranes. It's a welcoming environment with generally friendly employees. My family, friends and I all love this humble chinese restaurant. It's worth trying at least once. Also, I'd someone figures out if/when the buffet is open, please pass on the word! Our favorite Chinese place closed about 5 years ago and we started getting really burned out on plain tasting Chinese food. Then I stumbled upon New China when reading through various reviews about 3 years ago. Everyone mentioned how great the food was and the only scary thing we kept reading was how old the inside of the restaurant was. We decided to take our chances and we haven't looked back! This is the only Chinese place we will go and have been doing so for 3 years now. The food is always fresh and delicious. The one thing that annoys me about most Chinese restaurants is that all of the food tastes similar, no matter what you order. This is not the case with New China. We try to order something new every time and every dish has it's own unique flavor. The only thing I would like to see changed is that they put a little more ingredients in the fried rice (Onions, Water Chestnuts, etc.). This is only a recommendation as I still love the fried rice. The only thing we don't order anymore is the spring rolls. They are pre-packaged / frozen, so the taste is not as desirable as I would like. Our previous place made them fresh in-house, so we were a little spoiled... We absolutely love everything else! I would highly recommend New China to anyone who is looking for consistently delicious food. The service is always fantastic and they are very friendly when picking up our order. After being a regular customer for years, a bad experience has ruined the taste of New China. Recently, they charged my account twice for the takeout. 2 days later, I noticed the mistake and drove to the restaurant to rectify the situation. The lady took my information (phone number, name, and CC info.) She said that she will call me later to take care of this. I told her alright and if I do not hear from her, I will be back on Tuesday. Tuesday came and no response. I drove back to the restaurant and spoke to the same lady from my previous visit. She denied talking to me and hurriedly walked away. At the same time, a lady from the health department comes and says she's there for an appointment to check the place. The lady escorts her to the back. Another guy approaches (the same guy who swiped my card on Friday) asked if I've been helped and I said, actually no. I explained the situation and recognized him as swiping my card. He explained he had nothing to do with that and I need to talk to the lady. I asked when will she be available since she was talking to the health inspector? He came back after talking to her and said it's going to be awhile so just sit.... uh no. I told him I will not wait and they will be hearing from my bank. The food is mediocre and leaves a horrible after taste and the people that work there act like they can barely understand you and watch them because they will try to over charge you...
