    Chicken Fried Rice

My wife and I have been ordering from China Hill for about two years, and we've seen a significant decline in quality. The worst offense by far has been this chicken fried rice. It arrived quickly as I live right down the road. The delivery guy was polite, all was well, but when I opened the box (which weighed about 6 pounds), I saw what was pictured. I asked for extra egg, assuming it would be mixed in like every other restaurant's fried rice I've had. It came in a giant omelette like circle on top of a grease slick of rice and the weirdest chicken pieces I've ever seen. The bottom of the container was wet with grease, all of the rice was saturated, and I found a piece of mushroom that I didn't think was supposed to be included in the veggie mix as it was the only piece I found. The chicken was in large and oddly shaped chunks, some flat like they'd been hammered, some shaped like their sweet and sour chicken without the breading. The overall taste was not terrible, but the grease was so overwhelming and disgusting to swallow that I threw away the rest of the huge amount of food I'd received, and a few hours later I was sick. I'm writing this review freshly out of the bathroom. I have called out of work for tomorrow.

Sweet and sour chicken with a fried dead fly

I received my order Of sweet-and-sour chicken, with a fried dead fly. Also my order was missing a egg drop soup. I did order through the Uber Eats app. And know that complaints are done through them. However, I contacted the restaurant to inform them of the mistake so they could at least be more vigilant when packing people's orders. And the owner (a lady) instructed the male to hung up on me twice when I asked to speak to the manager until I Continuously called back then she got on the phone and n only told me to contact Uber Eats which I already did. I Explain to her that I understand accidents happen. But I wanted to bring it to her attention because I just thought they would be a little bit more apologetic. For an incident such as this, we were unable to eat our food due to possible Contamination, I used to love this restaurant, but I will no longer go there because obviously, they do not care about the quality of their food or the loyalty of their customers.

This was flat out gross. Highly recommend anywhere but here. Meat was tasteless and sauce was watery. Very dissatisfied with my meal.

So, just like many of the others reviewing, I became sick after eating their food too. I also had their shrimp!

The food was decent. The inside space is small but the delivery service is fast and reliable. I'll eat here again.

Great wonton and H & S soup. The Orange Chicken left much to be desired, but the Crispy Shrimp w Walnuts was amazing! Fast, easy delivery.

It's the best Chinese delivery I have found in Austin. The rice is good and they are fast and consistent.

The place reminded me of Ling Wu in the Grove area because the decor looked similar. Maybe they are owned by the same people? Firstly, I was impressed with the fact they had a FREE parking garage nearby since this is in the downtown area and next to Whole Foods. It took me a bit to find it as I'm directionally challenged, but I did and was just running a bit late. We really enjoyed the food and cocktails. I got the Singaporean noodles, a mezcal drink, and a sake. The serving size was big so I had plenty to take home. We shared many of the other dumplings and dim sum items. Everything was very good! The place wasn't too crowded so after we paid our bill we sat around for a while longer to chat and catch up. Usually someone would come by to see if we needed or wanted anything further, but no one did so we kept chatting and left. I'm happy to know of a central location with easy parking as a future place to meet people. I wish they had a happy hour because the bill for 3 of us was unexpectedly higher than usual.

There was nothing that I would not eat again, but the highlight was definitely the crab rangoon, the best that I have ever had anywhere and I have lived in 5 countries on 4 different continents and been to another 32 countries. The PuPu platter was good, but I would likely go with separate items in the future with potentially skipping the shrimp and spring rolls. I really liked the ability to pick the spice level on the entrées. I recommend ordering the fried rice entrée, the fried rice that comes with the other entrées is ok, but the fried rice entrée really takes it up flavor wise. I have to assume the Indonesian food is authentic as there were at least 5 families in traditional dress going in for pickup or dinner. I definitely look forward to trying Indonesian selection next time around. It is a family owned establishment and they could not be nicer. Definitely worth the out of the way drive for me.
