Very plain. While you do get the food fast and the people are nice- the food is beyond plain. You would think you have Covid while eating it. The general tso has no flavor and no spice at all. The beef lo mein was ok besides every bite tasted like mushrooms (never had mushrooms in lo mein and would've asked for none had I known) the white rice was ok, not to wet and not too dry but again no flavor which is to be expected with Chinese white rice. I will also add that if craving Chinese and nothing else is around, it beats the frozen section at that grocery store. I've been getting take-out at China King for years and have never been disappointed. I ALWAYS order from the "Combination Platters" menu. You get enough food for two meals plus an egg roll and pork fried rice for a total of $8.75. The veggies are always cooked nice and crisp, and the rice has lots of pork and mini veggies in it. Review for Oakhurst Rd location. This is very poor quality Chinese Food. The beef just didn't taste good, I doubt it had turned, but I'm thinking it was close. As long as you don't order the Honey Chicken, this is a pretty good takeout/delivery Chinese restaurant. They have all the usual staples on the menu, and vegetables come out fresh and crispy, not cooked to death and mushy. Pretty much my litmus test for a solid Chinese restaurant. As with most Chinese takeout places, the combo meals are where the best value is to be had. Containers come packed full, and for a 5.95 lunch that includes an egg roll, it's pretty hard to beat. Spring Rolls and Egg Rolls were under cooked. Shrimp Fried rice tasted like they boiled yellow rice and threw some ingredients in there. Although I will say it had a decent amount of Shrimp. Egg Drop soup, pretty good. We got the Hunan Beef, the flavor was not bad but the quality of the beef was awful. Chewy tendons/nerves and meat was mushy. What they do make Great is the Egg Fu Young. Closed on Tuesday's!! Nicest people and great food!! Love their veggie dishes, like the vegetable fried rice, actually has tons of veggies. NEVER GOING BACK!! Have not been there in a year or so and was reminded again why I should never go back. Ordered general tso chicken, asked for extra spicy. Got home and no flavor or heat. Took meal back, asked for spicy. No problem, easy fix. The lady dumped my food back into the pan & added spices. When she was done I asked if they did that process to everyone's food when brought back. I informed her that my food had been on a plate & picked through. I asked how can you get away with doing that? That was gross. The older lady said they clean the pan after every meal. I have never seen a Chinese restaurant "clean" the pans after cooking every dish. Site will not allow a no star review because that's what this place deserves. read more
