We stopped here for dinner but couldn't stay. Unfortunately, it was not what we were looking for. The lady at the front greeted us , sat as down and walked away without saying a word. We just looked at each other . Waited a few minutes and she never came back . Place is older with paper menus. There was a couple there but it was empty otherwise. Space is old school with carpeting. We just walked out as we didn't know what was going on with the lady leaving us there and we were kindly hungry. We need service and this place ... lacked it. Sorry but I don't think I'd be back. Check it out .. it may be for you :)

Went back since my usual was closed (again as per my last review lol) and this place looked empty so we opted to have soup on this cold, February evening. We ordered: Wor wonton soup- much better in terms of filling Egg drop soup- tasty and your usual Dry wok beef- pretty delicious and spicy. I would order again. Crispy noodles- thin crispy noodles topped with a special chef gravy sauce and veggies. Would get again but request more crispy noodles as we are crunch lovers. There was only one person assisting and taking orders, handling takeout.

The food and service are so good!!! There are tons of vegetarian options and the prices are so reasonable. Right next to the Target and new Home Goods. I would definitely recommend!

We have visited this restaurant many times. Recently we had friends from China come to visit. We had lunch here, and they loved it! They conversed in Mandarin with the waitress, and hit it off quite well. We really like the lunch specials (over 30 to choose from). With that you get soup, egg roll, rice and your entree choice, for a great price. One of our favorites is the "salt & pepper" fish... perfectly fried fish fillet with chilis and scallions. Making it even better is that it's just a mile from our house... so we eat here often.

I will start with the salt and pepper calamari. There is no way that calamari should look this way. I've eaten it many times. What are these rubber strings? Is this plastic mixed in with the fish? BTW this dish cost $14. Also the green beans and rice tasted like CHEMICALS. This was like a comically bad meal. Everything was inedible and if I wasn't so tired from work I would've asked for my money back. Will never come back.

There were a couple couples that look like they're on dates. Service is really good here. And we ordered all the food we wanted to try. It seems like they tried to limit the chances of the cyclospora parasite since no one has a definite source yet (Mongolian beef usually has raw green onions but they subbed wok fired yellow onions). But some stuff they kept the cilantro and green onions (bc they were cold dishes) The pan fried dumpling would have been good if it didn't have so much Ginger.. I'm not too into Ginger but the dumpling was nice because it had the juice inside of it and the texture was nice The refreshing woodear is a cold dish that has a chewy/crunchy texture. The soy sauce/vinegar flavor makes it refreshing when the other foods get heavy. Spicy beef slices were not that bad, but I prefer more of the spicy szechuan flavor (numbing/tingly feeling). The cilantro and green onions also provided good flavor The beef and onion pancake reminded me of mushu beef, it had the same wrap, hoision sauce flavor with meat and veggies-green onions. It also had good amount of meat Hunan beef was ok but wife enjoyed it. Wife's cooking prepared me for the peppers...is it a jalapeno or a green pepper...Russian roulette if you can't handle spicy. The Mongolian beef had reg onions instead of the green onions. Lots of onions..but I can't be mad bc the onions had the wok fire flavor, which I enjoy and not many places do it. The spicy eggplant with hot garlic sauce had lots of woodears, the eggplant was a little more on the sweet side, and the eggplant had a little bit of a crispyness to it. The salt and pepper shrimp almost reminded me of fried cake batter. It had some sweetness to it so it confused me cuz I was expecting something savory. At the end of the meal we had our fortune cookie, which seemed like it was more of an ad than a fortune.. sneaky Fortune Cookie company. Overall this place was pretty good and worth trying, especially since they have great service

I hate to leave a bad review because I know restaurants are struggling like all of us, but with the price of everything these days, this almost $80 meal for 2 was going to be a treat. Choose wisely where you spend your hard earned $ these days. The soup choice was incorrect, the paper wrap chicken was ok but the 2 fried shrimp and egg rolls were bar b doll sized! Included fried rice had nothing but brown color. Our 3 flavor chow mein was greasy but dry?, gummy and mostly flavorless, lacked any discernible vegetables and had just a small amount of meat. Craziest of all, the sweet and sour chicken came as 2 flavorless sliced, battered and fried chicken cutlets and a container of a small amount of basically raw veggies in what tasted like a cornstarch slurry with ketchup and a bit of pineapple juice added. My Sis called the restaurant and they offered to comp an item with next order, but with the amount of restaurants in Ventura that go above and beyond on a consistent basis, there won't be one. We both have spent some time in food service so this almost double hurt knowing that we would've been a lot happier with a big order of Panda Express!!

I gave 3 stars because the server was nice. This is the description on their online menu which has a photo and it looked nothing like the photo. "Khichadi is a classic comfort food with healing Ayurvedic properties. This one pot meal is prepared with brown basmati rice, organic moong & masoor dals, fresh organic baby spinach, shredded carrots, fresh ginger, garlic and aromatic spices." It was very bland as well. I asked for mild but I still wanted flavor and a mild spiciness . . . I had to add salt, it was so bland. The naan bread was $4 for a super flat small round of naan. I like a fluffier thicker naan. I returned the naan and was not charged for it. I might have come back if they had charged me $12 which is the price of their soup but they took off a tip of 15% which they actually added. Not cool. I am used to India Sweets and Spices in Woodland Hills where you get " a "a large scoop of 3 different entrees, a scoop of basmati rice, a scoop of lemon rice, a pakora, a samosa, and a full naan bread" for $13.99.
