the front of a restaurant in the rain

A coworker pickup food for everybody on her way to work. She suggested them and the food was really good and fresh. So today I'm back to try more of the menu. My 1st time here and like all Chinese restaurants pretty much the same setup. I did see they offered a buffet on some days. Clean, nice service, fast but not rushed. To me watching them whip the rice in the wok is like an art form. To get every grain evenly costed and cooked is a God sent talent.

I absolutely love this place! I loved the previous owners and the new ones are even better! Everything is super fresh, vegetables are always cook to perfection, never soggy. The beef fried rice is not at all greasy or over cooked. The beef and broccoli is amazing and not dry nor is the chicken and broccoli. I always add mushrooms and they are not shy with them. The crab ragoon is sooo delicious and still amazing the next day if you reheat in a toaster over. There is so much more I could talk forever. You would not be disappointed!

Food was very disappointing. Ordered $50 worth of takeout and the shrimp lo Mein and pork Fried rice was dark brown color- looked couple days old, and didn't taste right. Boneless spare ribs didn't taste good either. Not going back.

I had a list of what I was going to order-two items I had prepared to eat at home. The soup-chicken sweet corn-nicely diced chicken and vegetables was one of the best soups I have ever had. The garlic nan was garlicky and so tasty. The tandoori lamb chops with the lime marinade were some of the best lamb chops I have ever had in a restaurant. The vegetable pakora sampler-everything was great. The green salad-was large and fresh. I have zero complaints about the food. My son and I had over ordered and had plenty to take home---it was one of the best meals I have had in a restaurant in a long time. Now, for dessert, I had mango ice cream--I love ice cream-after each bite eaten I felt like I was in ice cream heaven. Only complaint service was on the slow side. Already planning my next meal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nippon Grill and Seafood Buffet is one of the few buffets that still feels alive. The dining room…read morestays full, the trays move quickly, and the food comes out hot instead of drifting into that tired, lukewarm zone that ruins most buffets. The space itself is well kept and clean, which matters more than people admit. A buffet lives or dies on maintenance, and Nippon shows real discipline in how it's run. It is not perfect, but it gives you real value for the price, and that alone sets it apart in a landscape where many buffets have declined or disappeared. The strength of Nippon is its seafood. They offer baby clams, crayfish, mussels, fish dishes, and soups that are light enough to enjoy without burning out early. These dishes give the buffet a sense of generosity that many places have lost. The sushi is what you expect from a buffet, not a handcrafted experience, but it is fresh enough and replaced often. The hibachi station adds another layer of variety, and the constant movement of the crowd keeps the food cycling at a steady pace. The imperfections are predictable. Some dishes are filler. The room can get chaotic at peak times. A tray might sit empty for a moment before the next batch arrives. None of this is surprising, and none of it ruins the experience. It is simply the nature of a busy buffet that is trying to keep up with demand. There is one piece of advice that makes the difference between a short meal and a long, satisfying one. The worst way to approach a buffet is to load your first plate with dense, heavy foods. You fill up fast and the meal ends before it begins. Nippon rewards a smarter approach. Start with the low volume seafood. Begin with clams, fish, salads, soups, and crayfish. These dishes let you warm up without tapping out early. You can enjoy more of the spread and actually experience the variety that makes the place worth visiting. The truth is simple. Nippon is not trying to be refined. It is a big, lively, well maintained seafood buffet that gives you heat, turnover, and enough range to make the price feel fair. If you approach it with a little strategy, you can feast for a long time and walk out satisfied. I actually love this place.

The restaurant was fairly already busy for Saturday afternoon and the food was made fresh by the time I arrived. This is a great place for families and couples. I ordered the "beef stick" -combo. I was greeted by two small, burnt, and suspiciously shaped beef teriyaki skewers, atop a pile of shockingly fluorescent yellow pork fried rice. Had I spilled any of this rice on myself, I could have worked as a flagger at the nearest construction site. The pork chunks, on the other hand, were whiter than a 1970's mustache at a disco club. One chunk looked so much like chewed bubble gum I removed it for inspection to discover it was "just" gristle, thank god. There were also two chicken fingers, clearly fried in oil dating from the Nixon -era. The chicken itself was chewy and sinewy. The only duck sauce came in packets, and it tasted like high viscosity, salty water -- who uses duck sauce packets these days anyway? But that's not what I'm here to tell you about; I'm here to tell you about what happened ten minutes later. My stomach became a veritable symphony of horrors. The sounds were akin to a butter knife in a sink disposal. I knew what was coming, and come it did. I spent the next few hours in a type of suffering I wouldn't wish on an enemy as the old, greasy, fluorescent food rained hatred down upon my stomach. I finally retreated to the couch, my body weakened and my soul defeated. Later that night, due in equal parts to my low IQ and my short memory, I decided to eat some of the pork fried rice leftovers. After all, there's no way this stuff really made me sick. It *had* to be a coincidence. Thus began my most recent self-education, for within minutes, I was once again in the bathroom praying to every deity I could think of. The things I saw that night - the things I smelled that night - will haunt my nightmares for an eternity. I'll cut to the chase: don't eat anything that looks like the food from this place. Chicken fingers shouldn't be fried in anything resembling motor oil, pork shouldn't be colorless fat globs, and rice shouldn't be the color of a school bus. I regret giving a one star review for a local business, but my stomach insists. May god have mercy upon your soul.
